Home Away From Home

We love this house. It honestly has everything you could want in a rental while vacationing. The hosts are phenomenal. The location is perfect. This was our third time staying and we absolutely will be visiting again.

A Good Stay!

This was a nice house for three generations of family to unite. It was clean and spacious. The yard was fun to play in. It was close to a nice, swimmable beach. The host was very responsive and even went out of their way to be accomodating. thumbs up.

Great House - Helpful Owner

Probably our best Maine rental in past five years. Sean was very responsive in solving one minor problem that we encountered. We would definitely consider re-booking the next time we decide to stay in the York area. House was immaculately clean, comfortable, and reasonably equipped.

Great place for multigeneration family

We spent two great weeks in this spacious home, located on a lovely, quiet street between Long Sands and the Harbor Beach. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable with well equipped kitchen, modern appliances, and hot shower with rain head. Loved the screen porch and outdoor space. Sean was a very responsive host. Note that, as evident in the pics, the house is one level but the stairs are steep.

Amazing family vacation

First family vacation with my grand kids, my two daughters, their spouses and my parents. ( total of 10 ranging from age 3 months to 89 years old). House is very well situated, few minutes from Long Sands Beach, fully equipped with plenty of space for everyone to be confortable, even had toys for my 2 year old grandson. We made wonderful memories

Property well kept, great neighborhood with close walk to beaches and restaurants. Older spacious sprawling ranch and yard for families of all ages. Poor check in access as NO cell service and spotty messaging made for an lengthy anxious wait for tired travelers. Thanks for the nice review. To be fair, the self check-in process is the same as nearly every other rental. A code was sent 3 months in advance (it's in your VRBO message history). Also to be fair when you arrived I somehow didn't seen your text message that you needed the code until 45 minutes (my fault). I resent the code as soon as I saw the message. Apologies for the poor start, Leslie. I'm glad everything else was to your liking. We aren't planning to add a landline (but thank you for the suggestion). In my experience it's just another place for spammers and telemarketers to reach you ... which is the last thing I would want for our guests. Cell phone service in York is notoriously bad and has been that way as long as I can remember. In fact, poor cell service is common for many vacation spots in Maine. The welcome book suggests using the WIFI which covers the entire house and reaches outside. There are a number of WIFI calling options listed in the welcome book (enable WIFI calling, FaceTime, Viber, Skype, Facebook, Google, etc.). I do wish there was something we could do about the cell coverage in York -- but also it's nice to turn off sometimes too. There's something about going to the beach with no cell phone that forces you to really relax. Thanks again and I hope you are able to return in the future. - Sean

Enjoyed our family vacation!

The house is spacious and in a quiet residential area. Conveniently located to many attractions. We enjoyed Harbor Beach. Perfect for the grandchildren. Minor recommendation would be to bring Tupperware or storage containers. We wound up using baggies. The house does have window a/c in three of the four bedrooms. It was but hit when we were there so we round up not using that bedroom. There are so many pros about the house then cons. My few comments should not prevent anyone from renting this house. The owner Sean is very responsive and we look forward to visiting York again.

Thank you for the review! So glad you enjoyed your stay. Sorry to hear the 4th bedroom was too hot for you. The windows (6 of them) in there are too small for a window A/C unit and usually it gets a nice cross breeze plus the fan we provided. After reading your feedback the first thing I did was go out and find a portable A/C unit (one that rolls on the floor and has an exhaust hose to the window). It takes up floor space but does fit in the window. So next time you stay you'll have A/C in all four bedrooms. Hope you had a safe trip home and a nice rest of your summer.

Quiet and convenient

Overall we enjoyed our stay. The kitchen is huge if you were in the mood to eat in. The location is very convenient to rtes 1 & 1A and 95. The neighborhood is very quiet and we enjoyed watching everyone walk their dogs! My favorite part was hearing the harbor bell. Things I wish I'd been aware of ahead of time caused a few issues for our more senior and less mobile guests - outside stairs are uneven and no railings, inside stairs have a tight turn at the top. And the bathtub was inaccessible to all of us and did not have a safety/grab bar. Everyone used the walk-in shower so we managed. Otherwise, hosts were very pleasant and responsive to all our questions. In general I would recommend staying here! Things I wish

Paradise Found

The house in York is beautiful and just as advertised. They have everything you would need at the house, very well appointed. It also had comfortable beds which isn't always the case. Th walk to the beach was gorgeous but my Dad isn't as mobile as he once was but dropping him off at York Harbor Beach was a breeze. The house gives every bedroom a good amount of privacy and both bathrooms were high-end. We LOVED this property and would recommend it to anyone. It's a very nice neighborhood and is great for family rentals but it's not a place to party. It's quiet, breathtaking, and easy. Owners were super responsive and very nice.

So much room!

The house was HUGE & very clean! Owners are super responsive and helpful! Very close walk to CliffWalk and views of the ocean. It was the perfect house for adults and a few kids, with the master bedroom being at the opposite end of the house, it worked out great. Basement is a great hangout for kids! Kitchen had everything we needed. Nice backyard and actually had a deer visit us while sitting back there!:)

Extremely responsive and helpful owners. Place was immaculate and in a wonderfully beautiful neighborhood steps from the beach. Location was fantastic as it is close to just about everything. Can’t say enough about how perfect of a family getaway this was. The one “critique” I would have is that the pictures don’t do this beautiful home justice!! It looks even better in person! Thanks again for allowing my family to stay!!!

We loved our stay!

This was a wonderful house in a fantastic neighborhood away from touristy spots but close to the beach. Everything was easy to get to. The house was great. We were so pleased with all that was provided and the cleanliness we arrived to. The sun porch was our favorite evening spot. Sean was terrific with the few minor things that came up. We had a wonderful vacation here.

Great summer beach location

The house was perfect for our family. It was clean and the kitchen was fully stocked. We enjoyed the beach that was less than 1 mile away. The grill was great for our nightly family dinners. We enjoyed some golf, bike riding and the perfect weather. The neighborhood was nice and quiet and perfect for morning walks or runs before we headed to the beach. Sean and Merilin welcomed us into their house and provided us with everything we needed during our stay.

A great family getaway

The home and location met our expectations! Considering what is taking place in the country right now, the house and location provided a respite from the events of the day. Getting to the beach was an easy walk or drive if you have a younger family. The large yard provided a great gathering area for the adults and children in our family,
