Tucked down a one way street, this ground floor flat with off street parking and garden was great. The local Monday market was a surprise, as was a plethora of bars and restaurants only 15 minutes by foot. Hope to return.
Giuseppe was very helpful. The apartment is as described, in good condition although the bathroom needs updating. The terrace and charming garden are good features. The area is a bit gritty but feels safe enough. A great "gastronomia" canteen style restaurant and reasonable supermarket in a short walk away.
I have spent 9 nights in Cleo holiday home at the beginning of July, together with my friend. The flat is specious with a very high ceilings. It contains two large bedrooms with very comfy beds, a well equipped kitchen and bathroom. The bed linen and towels very clean and smelled good. All together it is a clean and nice flat and you can tell that the owner is making some effort to maintain it well. Maybe it is a time for bath change, but since we were taking showers only, we weren't really bothered. The biggest advantage is the secure parking in the back yard since it is very hard to find parking space on those tiny narrow streets. Especially if you have rented car it is peace of mind that no one will scratch it. The back garden is very nice and there is also a terrace and patio, which means - a lot of space outside. Giusseppe - the owner - is a very kind and nice guy. Even though he doesn't speak English we communicated well via google translator. The area is typical for Catania, rather neglected but we felt safe. It is close to the main street with some shops and small bakeries. It is not well communicated with the rest of the city by public transport but in general the public transport in Catania is terrible. It takes around 30 minutes' walk to the historic city centre. Overall I do recommend Cleo especially if you have a car, since it is also very close to the motorway to south of the Island or Etna, so we didn't have to drive via city centre.
In der Innenstadt Catanias haben wir eine Wohnung gefunden, die fuĂlĂ€ufig 20 Minuten vom Zentrum entfernt ist. Auch wenn sich Parterrewohnung in einer SeitenstraĂe in einem dicht bewohnten Quartier befindet, haben wir einen sicheren, abschlieĂbaren Parkplatz auf dem rĂŒckseitigen Hof erhalten, sodass die Wohnung die Basis fĂŒr eintĂ€gige Exkursionen werden konnte. Die Wohnung selbst ist sauber, gerĂ€umig, gut ausgestattet; in dem straĂenseitigen Zimmer ist der alltĂ€gliche VerkehrslĂ€rm zu vernehmen. An die KĂŒche schlieĂt sich einen Terrasse an, auf der sich gut essen lĂ€sst. Ein Makel ist nur eine Wasserpumpe, die sich einschaltet, sobald Wasser aus den HĂ€hnen lĂ€uft.
