Excellent location in a lovely little gĂźte with very accommodating hosts. We would definitely come back here for a relaxing holiday by the pool. Thank you!
Carolyn and Gerry are lovely, considerate hosts. They have excellent knowledge and will help you with anything you need to know. Gite and pool were perfect. Lovely area, surrounded by nature. Both gites are private from one another. Great boulangerie and decent supermarket, just down the road. Close to all major sites. Thankyou both, we really enjoyed it x.
We have spent 3 great days in Carolyn and Jerry's Cottage. The place is amazing, cosy, quiet, clean, relaxing and everything is looked after with the greatest care. I really wish we could stay for longer, but we certainly will come back!
The gite was wonderful. Quiet country setting, private patio, access to pool, kitchen stocked with necessary items (including condiments), everything one might wish for. Best of all were our hosts, Carolyn and Jerry. Formerly of the U.K., they compensated greatly for our lack of French. We were able to ask questions and obtain advice. They provided a notebook of suggestions regarding restaurants, market days, sites of interest, et al. They even made a restaurant reservation for us and allowed us the use of their phone when ours went on the blink. We had a thoroughly enjoyable trip to France and our choice of accommodations played no small part in the experience. Highly, highly recommended.
We loved our stay at Truffle. The gite is very well equipped & beautifully decorated. It also has a great laundry room which is useful when traveling with children. Our children loved their bedroom with the mezzanine bed and they especially loved the pool. We were able to swim at night under a sky full of stars as there is no light pollution in this area. The location is really central to lots of the Dordogneâs beautiful ChĂąteaus & villages. The gite & pool have wonderful far reaching views of the surrounding area and we loved spotting the passing hot air balloons. Carolyn & Gerry were very friendly and welcoming and we loved our visits from their lovely dog Inca. We also arrived to find a welcome hamper with wine, cheese & other essential, this was a really nice touch. There is lots to do in the area and we would definitely love to return.
We had a very enjoyable and relaxing time in Truffle gite, excellent location within 20 minutes of so many attractions and being able to retreat to the peacefulness of the countryside and spectacular views. Very friendly and helpful hosts who were a pleasure to be with for our stay, including the friendly 'working' dog Inca. The gite itself is very well appointed and thought out, everything we could think of or needed was there, most importantly a tea pot ! The new heated pool has spectacular views over the countryside and very comfortable relaxing chairs. A good place to be, especially the evenings to enjoy the sunsets. If anybody wants a peaceful retreat, yet very close to many of the main Dordogne tourist attractions, then look no further, you will be very happy here.
I moved to France to live permanently in 2016 with my husband Jerry and our Working Cocker Spaniel Inca. It's hard not to fall in love with this area. We had explored this region on holiday when our children were very young and again 20 years later when they were all grown up. Our attraction for the Perigord Noir had never diminished and so now we find ourselves living our own little dream and having a French adventure. Le Peyruzel is a very special spot, it remains very unspoiled and operates as a working farming community, crops here are mainly Walnut groves, but also wheat, barley, hay, maize, and sunflowers too. Our properties sit nestled on the slopes of the hamlet and enjoy the most amazing views across the Ceou valley and beyond. The properties are about 200 years old and formed a cluster of ancient farm buildings, they have been lovingly restored from dereliction by the previous owners over a period of 20 years and have operated as gites for many years. A brand new pool built into the slope has been created by us in summer 2016 and this now benefits from being heated from May though to October has been a most welcome addition to the property
The thing that sold this property to us was the character of the buildings themselves, the quality of their renovation and the views. When you drive in you just feel peaceful, relaxed and at home.... itâs as simple as that!
Location, location, locationâŠ.to be in such a perfect spot and yet so close to so many of the regions gems it what makes Le Peyruzel a special place.
