Great location

Perfect place for two people to stay compared to a hotel. More room and very comfy. Can’t beat location.

Puerta del Sol Apartment- GREAT stay

The apartment near Puerta del Sol was a wonderful week in Madrid. The location is fantastic; right at the center of Madrid, accessible to all transportation, and within walking distance of the entire Madrid center. The apartment was clean and provided all the things we needed for our stay. We enjoy cooking when we travel, and the kitchen is well-equipped. The neighborhood also has many food stores and panaderias to get provisions. And we enjoyed working with Yolanda when booking the apartment and for questions afterward. We do have one item about the apartment's location. There is a vibrant late-night street crowd that is fairly noisy on the weekends and a bit quieter during the week; our fix was to closed the window shutters completely and close the doors to the bedroom- 90% noise reduction taking these steps. We can highly recommend staying here when you are in Madrid.

Great location but very noisy and needs work

On the plus side the location is great except for the disco across the street. The apartment is large and well laid out. The property manager is a terrible communicator> doesn't respond to messages. The whole place is full of stained and chipped old furniture and the windows are cheap. If there were better windows the noise at night (until 4 am every night) wouldn't be as bad. The remotes for the TV and heat don't work well or at all! The toaster blew the breakers for all the lights every time we used it. The Wifi is horrible as the modem is in the hall outside the apartment. It doesn't work in the living room or kitchen, only in the bedroom and spotty at best..

Awesome Location, but loud and complicated check in.

The location of this property and the property itself can't be beat. It's a 3 minute walk to a major metro station, all of the parks and palaces are close by, and amazing restaurants are right on your street. However, it should be noted that the street is very noisy. There are bars/clubs right outside the apartment that didn't close down until 5-6AM. This forced us to quickly adapt to a night owl schedule so if going to bed late isn't for you, I would not recommend this location. The only other remark would be regarding the check in process. This property requires a wifi key which is difficult if you do not have an international phone plane. We had a few issues getting in touch with the host and explaining our difficulties getting into the apartment due to language barriers. This resulted in us having to wait a few times for a response from her before we could enter, luckily, there are several bars along the street that provided us with a good waiting spot.

Lovely place but noisy

Yolanda was lovely and communicative, apartment was clean, although it was disconcerning how dark the hallways were until I figured out how to turn the lights on. The only issue was that at 4 am on a Sunday there was an after hours bar in full swing across the street that went on until 6:30 in the morning, certainly you cannot sleep through that and not sure if that happens every weekend

nice clean stay for a couple

Good location, walking distance from Plaza Mayor, Sol and lots of shopping. Flat was quite large for a one bedroom and had all the necessary basics. Street noise at night due to nearby restaurants and bars so if you like being out late then it is great.

Great Location

This is flat is so close to everything in the center of Madrid. It is a very large space and super comfortable. Yolanda and staff are very kind and always there to help. When I return to Madrid this is where I am staying!

Hôte chaleureuse et réactive. L'appartement est vraiment bien situé et lumineux. Contrairement aux autres commentaires, j'ai trouvé la rue calme (probablement lié au couvre feu), ce qui m'a permis de profiter. Le seul bémol : aucun produit d'entretien (pas de liquide vaisselle, ni torchon, ni balayette) ce qui pour un séjour un peu long n'est pas très pratique. Mais l'appartement était vraiment agréable. Le lit est très grand et confortable, et la pièce à vivre idéale pour travailler, être au calme et pour recevoir. C'est un excellent rapport qualité-prix.

Ideal Location

You simply cannot find a better location in Madrid Centro. Within steps of your front door is everything you could possibly want. There are literally hundreds of tapas bars, restaurants and every type of shop you can imagine within a quarter mile. Across the street there’s a great grocery store with super friendly, helpful owners. We were there 21 days. We took a cab twice. Everything you will want to see is within short walking distance. The apartment is on the third floor. It has a working elevator. Be careful because many accommodations fail on this necessity. The space is much bigger than the photos reflect. We really liked the true KING bed which is also rare for Europe. The kitchen is not equipped for any serious cooking, but why would you want to? Happily it has a great refrigerator and freezer. There is also a good clothes washer, but you dry on a rack. The furnishings are more IKEA than Four Seasons but we found it very comfortable. The TV is a modern flat screen, but it could use at least one channel in English. Most particularly, the hostess Yolanda was very cooperative and pleasant. She even arranged a complete cleaning and linen change midway in our stay and was on top of our every request. All of this said, the apartment is undeniably the ideal location to easily explore the best of Madrid.
