Lovely peaceful location right in the forest but equally great location for visiting places. Only there for a few nights, but would have been great to stay longer!
From the initial drive down the single track lanes in beautiful scenery to the arrival at the location in a quiet oasis of tranquility the first impressions were excellent. On arrival we were met by the very friendly owner and shown the flat. Everything you could need was supplied, in a very homely and clean interior. Itâs shoes off before going up the stairs to the flat and the only thing I missed was maybe a stool to help with putting your shoes on before going out. The bed linen was very white and clean and the towels were quality. We did some simple cooking and we wanted for nothing. The bed was very comfortable. Bathroom and shower were clean and tidy. We do enjoy Dorset and this would be our first choice for a place to stay next time we visit.
The property is adequate for any stay and was comfortable. The decor is not lavish and considering the time spent in the property was entirely sufficient. The hosts were most welcoming and congenial. They offered any additional support as required and I am convinced would have delivered. The property is remote but that was such a plus. Welcomed by horses and a cuckoo, then nature in its finest gown, and deer. Grand, elegant beasts. The fauna was breathtaking and the proximity of the well known sights convenient. Would I return? Yes of course.
The surroundings are amazing ! On the edge of the forest and great views. Only 30mns drive from studland beach and away from the crowd, very relaxing and we will certainly come back again
If you like to get out into the countryside this is as good as it gets. Julian & Caroline are perfect hosts, the property is clean and tidy plus everything you need is there and the surroundings are just as good if not better than the photo's.
There are no negatives from us and we would definately like to return again. Thank you both for a great weeks stay.
A lovely, quiet stay at the end of a long drive/track. Flat is as described, light and airy, overlooking woodland and paddocks. The two settees are comfortable after a day on your feet and the bed is big, comfortable and cosy.
Hosts were very helpful and were there to greet us and to say goodbye.
Food basics are supplied, tea, coffee, sugar and condiments.
The only thing that couldn't be arranged was some sunshine!!
The surroundings were beautiful, quiet and relaxing. In the house you had everything you need, it was clean and tidy. The landlords are close by if you need anything, but you still had your privacy. always happy, we could really relax!
Thank you so much, Tom& Julia
We had a lovely few days staying here. There was everything you needed in the property it was clean and tidy. The rural location was great nothing around but forest and nature. You are not too far away from the main attractions of the area. My only downside was the road up to the property had a few potholes so drive carefully. We would definitely come again.
Perfect for us. We had a long weekend to explore this part of Dorset.
Host very friendly and welcoming. The property is over their double garage so if you need them easy to see but we never saw them once which is nice. Well stocked with kitchen utensils if you want to eat in. We explored all day and come back early evening, bit of a challenge if you donât like driving in the dark but we identified landmarks that helped so no problem.
Kitchen window looks on to fields with horses from their stables and an occasional spotting of deer. Loving if you like walking.
Property decor is tired but homely and didnât bother us at all.
Would probably return to see it in the summer.
The Hydeaway is in a tranquil location yet ideally situated for the many local attractions and towns, such as Compton Acres Gardens, Athelhampton House, RSPB Arne, Swanage, Weymouth, Corfe Castle etc. Lovely views of the fields and woods from the property which is owned by Julian And Caroline who are very amiable hosts. Highly Recommended.
A fantastic place to stay, with so much in the area to see and do. We especially enjoyed visits to Wareham and Worth Matravers, and the chance to see the peregrines at Corfe Castle - and the Tolpuddle Martyrs museum! Our hosts were discretion personified.
Lovely little flat with great views over the garden and paddock. Spotlessly clean, comfortable bed and everything you could need for your stay. Perfect if you love nature, deer and squirrels in the horse paddock nearly every day we stayed. There is a nice garden to relax in on sunnier days and the hosts were very helpful and welcoming.
Already during the warm and friendly welcome, the Hydeaway felt like a home from home. The only thing you can hear here, are the sounds of nature, which we highly appreciated. The owners are there if you have any questions, but furthermore respect your privacy to the fullest. The flat had everything we needed, including a comfortable bed, a powerful shower and a washing machine.
There are plenty of walks from the doorstep.
A car is a must, because there are no groceryshops within walking distance.
Wareham can be reached within 15-20 minutes by car by a beautiful drive, and is a lovely town. Other beautiful places to visit are within easy reach as well.
Highly recommended!
Beautiful quiet location at the end of winding country lanes. Accomodation is adjacent to the farmhouse and overlooks paddocks. Pheasant, rabbits and deer were seen at various times. Single bedroom, very comfortable double bed, with single bed in living area for a third person if required. Fully fitted kitchen, TV and wifi. Owners very approachable and accomodating.
We were made to feel very welcome. The property was just 12 mins from where our family were, so an ideal spot for us. Clean and comfortable plus value for money.
We would have loved to make more use of the tennis court, but weather was not our best friend.
Would definitely book again for another visit.
We had a lovely stay and despite my husband's mobility problems we managed to get in and out of the property without too many issues. The owners were very helpful and friendly and made our stay a very pleasant one.
If your looking for a place to relax and unwind, this hideaway, is ideal, It was every thing we hoped for and more.
Julian gave us a quick tour on our arrival and left us to unwind.
Great host, great views, and a fantastic property.
When we get another opportunity, we will be back.
If you want a quiet peaceful break this is the ideal spot.
Set in an area of open paddocks on the edge of the forest, good views. A little off the beaten track but no problem, because it gets you to that quirt spot. The owner Julian could not have been more welcoming or more helpful , a quick explanation and then left us to enjoy our break though always on hand for help and advice on the area with regard to places of interest or recommending local restaurants etc.A good week.
Spotlessly clean and very comfortable flat with everything we needed, surrounded by beautiful forest. Perfect for a relaxing holiday away from the hussle and bussle while being only a short drive from the local town.
Friendly, welcoming hosts. Peaceful location with great views, lovely to see the horses and deer. The accommodation had everything we needed for a short stay.
Vous ĂȘtes reçu par Julian and Caroline Brook-Fox
Caroline and Julian have loved living in the farmhouse for 20 years watching their family grow up after a busy life travelling around the world with the armed forces.
We were lucky enough to be able to buy this small equestrian property whilst posted locally because we loved its rural aspect and yet it was very convenient for the local railway station and the coast. Hydeaway is close to our farmhouse,
The flat is very well situated for accessing all the very many local attractions yet is off the beaten track. As a result because there is so little light pollution you will rarely see the stars so clearly.!
