We had a very nice stay at The Stables in Freshford. The property is in a very nice and quiet street. Itâs only a 5 minute walk to the station with a regular connection to Bath (travel time is only 10 minutes). The rooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped with all necessities for everyday cooking. Wendy and Robin are excellent hosts and always ready to help. A tipp for those interested in history: visit Farleigh Hungerford Castle - itâs gives a fascinating insight into the life of an influential medieval family.
As described and wonderful locationEveryone in family thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Great walks, everyone we met extremely friendly. We will be back and hopefully get to stay at Stable Cottages.
Very comfortable and generously equipped _we were all impressed by the welcoming supplies. This is a real haven in a pretty village. Perfect base for so many types of break.
Fantastic place and location. We did not rent a car. Between walking, bus service in the village, and the train station a two minute walk away, we had many varied experiences in Bath and the area. Unit was very comfortable and the heating worked well. The kitchen is well equipped with quality items, the washer and dryer are a plus, including detergent! Hosts left us breakfast supplies which was really appreciated. Plus the tea bags and filter coffee. There is a small grocery shop/cafe in the village which is well stocked. The Inn at Freshford serves excellent food and is very English and cozy. We highly recommend this property. Thank you Robin and Wendy
We used this as a home base for our stay in the area. We enjoyed the property. The washer and dryer were surprisingly good - usually the dryers we have used in the UK don't really do the job, but this one worked very well. We were greeted with a wonderful surprise of fresh bread, butter, bacon, eggs, milk, and coffee supplies--all of which were very appreciated! Rooms were nice and as presented. Enjoyed our stay!
**DO** take the advice of printing out directions before you leave, as reception is spotty in the area on the way there, and you may have trouble with your phone GPS apps otherwise!
The Wi-Fi once you arrive is great though.
