The property was lovely, clean, well stocked, and perfectly positioned for the 10 minute train-ride into Bath.Robin and Wendy were very communicative, gave lots of information about the area and good directions.Would happily stay here again.
The Stables was the perfect place for family to visit Bath.
The rooms were clean and comfortable. The kitchen spotless with everything we needed for breakfast, drinks, snacks and meals.
The hosts have made this a charming bolthole within walking distance the a great pub, and a train ride to Bath that takes only a few minutes. We will be back!
Our stay at the property over New Year was made enjoyable by the ease of the booking and ease of communication with the owners who provided a much appreciated welcome basket. The property is very well furnished and utensils are abundant, making our stay feel like a home away from home. Thank you. Jenny and Kevin
6 friends, plenty of room for all of us grown ups. The whole property is delightful. We walked from the village along the canal to Bathampton and then took the waterbus into Bath. Good pubs in the area for evening meals. Narrow streets but that just adds to the charm. We received good advice and tips for our weekend from the owners and the welcome breakfast items, were indeed very welcome!
The Wifi is a bit hit and miss but it didn't stop us having a wonderful time. I would definitely recommend the property and the village.
The property was spotless. The welcome card and breakfast food was a special touch. We were a party of 4 adults and 2 children. There is no garden but for us this was not an issue. We may never get back to the UK but I would not hesitate to book this property again.
We had a good time in Freshford. Great location and great size for our family of 4, with 3 space-ish bedrooms, clean and comfortable. The welcome breakfast goodies were a generous touch.
We hadn't properly appreciated that were was no outdoor space and that reference to courtyard for parking is literally for cars, no outdoor furniture etc. The Inn at Freshford is only a few mins away with an amazing beer garden but in this current heatwave, we would have really welcomed somewhere outside to sit at the house. But our fault for not reading the property details more carefully.
We also felt quite nervous about the repeated reminders about not blocking access for the neighbours. We didn't have any problems but it made us a little less relaxed than normal.
Perfect spot for a couple of essential workers and our kids to unwind. Lots of day hikes and train trips to Bath and Bristol to explore. Plenty of space in the cottage for us all to relax in the evenings. No car for us so planned our meals and food shopping easily with the trains and pubs along our day hikes. Bradford on Avon is a pretty 2 mile walk away along the canal with lots to offer. Great stay!
The property was ideally located for the wedding we were attending locally. It was clean and comfortable and well equipped. Really appreciated the milk and breakfast items a lovely thought. Would recommend.
The property is in a good village location close to many local amenities. It is very cosy but some of the areas are beginning to look a bit tired and in need of refreshing.
The house is even better than it looks in the pictures, it is spotless and there is noting the owners have not thought of. The beds are sooooooo comfortable with new beautifully clean bed linen. There was even bacon, eggs , bread, butter milk, tea, coffee, sugar left for us. It is in a beautiful location with great links.. The local pub does fabulous food. We will be back !
We have just had a lovely stay at The Old Stables. Everything we needed was provided - the accommodation was spotless and very comfortable. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay - I have no hesitation in recommending this property and the area.
Great place to come with family or friends
Train with in 2 min walk so leave the car and head into bath excellent pub just 3 min walk
Very enjoyable

We had such a lovely time staying at The Old Stables in Freshford. The rental was spotless and perfect for our family. Striking distance from Bath and Stonehenge, it was an ideal location for us. Proximity to the rail station was a plus!
Really clean, well equipped cottage. Owners left food for breakfast, tea and coffee which was a lovely touch and very much appreciated. Really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this cottage. Owners communicated well with me and also left a lovely card welcoming us to their home.
Wendy and Robin were wonderful hosts and the Old Stables Cottage was perfect for our family of six. Freshford is a beautiful village and only one train stop away from Bath. We enjoyed walking around Freshford and eating at the Inn - we only wish our time there was longer. Thanks to Robin and Wendy for the breakfast provisions upon our arrival. It was a thoughtful touch. We highly recommend!
Very comfortable stay with 6 adults and baby for family weekend. Well equipped kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine. Enjoyed pizza from local pizza oven on Friday night as recommended by hosts. Great food for lunch at local freshford inn.
Lovely cottage, very homely and spotlessly clean, and only minutes away from local train station.
Would definitely recommend staying here. Equipped with everything u need, 2 minutes from the village pub.
Great location, excellent apartment, perfect for 6, great hosts
Really good location, great inn 200m away (Freshford Inn). The apartment was perfect for our family of 6, the kitchen was very well appointed and there was an unexpected welcome pack. Communication with Robin and Wendy was easy and nothing was too much trouble for them.
Lovely, comfortable cottage. Perfect for 4 friends wanting to get away from it all!
The village of Freshford was perfect - a lovely local pub with excellent food and atmosphere. A quick easy train ride into the centre of Bath made it the perfect place to stay for a couple of days of rest and fun!!
Great place to stay. Very close to Bath. The little village itself doesn't have much in terms of restaurants if you get home late, there is an Inn that serves food but has strange hours and that is it. The house was very clean and had everything you could ask for. They even provided a cot and high chair for us. We loved our time here and would recommend to anyone looking.
