La maison de William Andrew Way, ca. 1872, est l’une des plus vieilles maisons du charmant village de Marshallberg, en Caroline du Nord. Marshallberg est l'une des 13 communautés de Down East sur la Crystal Coast en Caroline du Nord. Marshallberg est proche du Cape Lookout National Seashore et fait partie de la route panoramique de la banlieue nord de la Caroline du Nord. The Way House a été entièrement remodelé et modernisé en 2012.

La cuisine est bien équipée par le propriétaire qui aime cuisiner. Il dispose d'une cuisinière à gaz et d'un lave-vaisselle, d'un comptoir d'îles avec tabourets et d'une table en bois construite sur mesure pouvant accueillir 10 personnes (et est idéale pour travailler sur des puzzles).

La chambre principale a un lit queen et une porte privée dans la salle de bain.
La deuxième chambre a un lit queen et un lit simple.
La bibliothèque a un nouveau canapé Ikea qui se transforme en un lit simple.
La bibliothèque dispose d'une télévision connectée, d'un lecteur DVD et d'un lecteur Blue Ray. Il existe également des livres, des casse-tête et du matériel de yoga.
La maison a WiFi.

La maison Way dispose d'un porche privé avec moustiquaire dans la cuisine, entouré d'un espace vert rempli d'oiseaux avec une table et des chaises pour dîner en plein air. La maison est équipée d'un bar à gaz Bar-B-Q.

L'emplacement est très calme. Il y a un quai public au large de Center Street qui fait face aux Core Banks à travers Core Sound. Le parc au bout de la route Marshallberg est un lieu de prédilection pour admirer le coucher de soleil. À côté du parc, un petit port abrite des bateaux de plaisance et de travail. Le village offre d'intéressantes promenades à pied et à vélo; deux vélos sont inclus dans la location.

Marshallberg est à une courte distance en voiture du traversier de l'île Harkers jusqu'au Cape Lookout National Seashore, du musée de la sauvagine de l'île Harkers, du traversier de l'île Cedar pour Ocracoke, de la belle plage de Beaufort, Atlantic Beach, des randonnées dans la forêt nationale de Croatan, du parc historique de Fort Macon, du Berne et d’autres villes côtières historiques de Caroline du Nord.

Lovely Historic Home in Marshallberg

This was the third time we stayed for a week in Way House, which has become a "home away from home" for us in the Beaufort area. It is a beautiful, historic home in a peaceful setting with all the modern amenities.

Relaxing getaway

Family Vacation

We were extremely pleased with the property, both the house itself and the grounds. The circle drive was an added bonus especially with a 24 ft. boat in tow. The house was neat, clean and absolutely beautiful. The location was great with a public boat ramp within a short distance away. Our family had a wonderful week visiting Cape Lookout, seeing the wild horses on Shackleford Banks, NC Aquarium as well as Carteret Historical Museum, Fort Macon and the Maritime Museum.

Honeymoon getaway

This was a fantastic get away for our honeymoon. Quiet area very clean and comfortable house. Centrally located in the outer banks to most everything. Will recommend to everyone!!!! 5 stars

A Wonderful Week in Way House

Lovely, charming stay at Way House

Very well maintained property. Lovely and charming. Peaceful and quiet. Well appointed kitchen. Easy communications and instructions for house wifi and air-conditioning. Recommend! Just know that there is not much around in terms of grocery, gas, food options. Do go to Beaufort and travel around!

Cute farmhouse away from the bustle of the main beaches

Overall we really enjoyed our stay at this cute renovated little farmhouse. It was very clean on the inside and comfortable. The neighborhood is fairly quiet and about half hour away from various activities like access to the ferries, beaches and shops. The only reason we give a four-star to the check-in process is because of our little snafu with the keys. Thanks to very helpful neighbors who helped us get in contact with the owners who live in Canada, we were able to resolve the issue. We would definitely recommend this house for couples and small families. The beaches in the area are absolutely beautiful for the North Atlantic. We highly recommend making use of the various ferries, especially to the lighthouse.

Polly Way Stay

Our family of 4 stayed here for 5 nights as we visited Cape Lookout and surrounding areas. It was a nice getaway home, comfortable, quiet, and clean. We enjoyed all of the amenities that were offered to us. The only issue we had was the water was slow to drain down the tub. I would recommend this home and we would use it again.

Great time

My husband and I had a very nice time staying at this quaint little house. It is located in a quiet and walkable neighborhood. We enjoyed the large kitchen, the screened in back porch, and the library/TV room. Nicole and Alan are very gracious and helpful hosts and we are glad they shared their family’s vacation home with us!

Can't say enough nice things

The photos are accurate but cannot capture just how lovely and peaceful this house and property are. Beautifully and lovingly maintained, updated, and outfitted for guests, with a great cook's kitchen that is a joy to prepare meals in. There is also a great selection of books to read during your stay. Very grateful to have the opportunity to stay here. Thank you!

Peaceful, comfortable, and great location!

We just finished up a week's vacation at Nicole and Alan's Marshallberg Way House and had a wonderful time. The house is inviting, comfortable, peaceful, extremely clean and well furnished, and felt more like a home than a house, with lots of family photos and artwork. The place has character! Each morning, we took our time and enjoyed observing and listening to all the birds who also make the place their home. There are plenty of bird identification books and even binoculars for birdwatchers. And our two dogs loved the large, private yard. We all also really took to the screened in porch. Each day, we set off for a different adventure, exploring the Down East area of the Crystal coast of NC. We had such a great time. The highlight adventure was taking the ferry out to both Shackleford Banks and Cape Lookout on the same day. We saw the Spanish Mustangs on Shackleford, visited the lighthouse at Cape Lookout, and spent hours on the beach hunting for shells, with great success, I must say. :) Harker's Island was a lot of fun and we really enjoyed the Core Sound Museum as well as visiting some of the locals' decoy workshops. We spent a day over at Morehead City and Atlantic Beach, as our nearly 4 year old daughter is definitely a beach girl, but we highly preferred the greater area surrounding the house. We had many great meals in Beaufort, which is just a 20 minute drive from the house and has plenty of nice restaurants. We definitely took advantage of the area's fantastic seafood. We highly recommend the Way House. Nicole and Alan are welcoming hosts and will quickly answer any questions you may have. We look forward to returning and exploring more of the area, including the Cedar Island area, as we ran out of time on this trip. Thanks so much, Nicole and Alan!

Wonderful Down East Retreat

We loved our week-long stay at Way House in Marshallberg! The house is beautiful & comfortable and located in a tranquil setting within a short drive to Beaufort and other area attractions. It was perfect for our needs. Nicole and Alan are excellent hosts--very responsive to our questions. We are looking forward to a return visit!

beautiful home in a quiet area yet close to the Atlantic Beach attractions

We have spent several weekends in this house and would love to come back. Unique atmosphere of a historic house with all modern amenities. half hour from Atlantic beach, 20 minutes from Beaufort, 15 min from the ferry to Cape Lookout Lighthouse. Great place to relax after a day of swimming, hiking, and all other vacation things to-do!

A spacious, comfortable, charming home, adjacent to a jewel in North Carolina's waterway crown.

This area (with its close access to Cape Lookout and boat ramps, and all the glorious associated waterways) is as good as coastal North Carolina gets (if you love the water and don't love crowds). This home is the perfect companion piece. We will be back, whenever it is available.

Perfect getaway

If you did what we did prior to getting here i.e. a week of baseball and crazy Myrtle beach excursions and you need a break, come to this place. Stay, chill, enjoy a full stacked kitchen and plenty of ready to do with walk in the village and friendly locals.
