Datant de 1624 et impeccablement restauré, ce magnifique petit cottage de design d'une chambre a du caractère. Avec son propre grand jardin et vue sur la campagne, il est situé dans le paisible village de Tarlton tout en étant proche de Cirencester chic et Tetbury Prince Charles.

Les propriétaires, un conseiller d'art et écrivain, ont pris grand soin de créer un intérieur unique de grand style dans une restauration de la plus haute qualité. Toutes les caractéristiques d'origine ont été conservées avec des planchers naturels, des poutres apparentes et une cheminée cantou. Il y a des canapés en velours, de beaux tapis orientaux, des beaux-arts et des livres classiques. L'éclairage est discret et atmosphérique tandis qu'un poêle à bois offre une atmosphère agréable.

Absolutely loved our stay at Asphodel Cottage, and our first ever trip to the Cotswolds. The cottage itself is immaculately kept and so beautifully decorated and, in temperatures pushing 35 degrees, we were so pleased to discover that it remains remarkably cool! The garden is delightful and we spent many hours out there soaking in the peace, tranquility and countryside views.Tarlton is well placed to quickly get into Cirencester which is a lovely, picturesque town, and we also enjoyed a day out in Bath which is about an hour's drive away. Highly recommend the local pub - The Thames Head Inn - and we also enjoyed a lunch at The Bell at Sapperton. We have completely fallen in love with the Cotswolds and can't wait to return.

Wonderful rustic cottage

Lovely cottage with a rustic ambiance that takes you to another time, while still providing all the modern amenities you need. Perfectly situated in the center of the Cotswolds to allow easy drives to anywhere in the region. We would absolutely stay there again.

Asphodel cottage

Superb cottage, with wonderful character, enjoyed our weeks stay. Very comfortable mattress ( a must for me with a bad back!) enjoyed the luxurious ball and claw foot bath with piping hot water after a long hot day shopping in the beautiful Cotswold villages!10/10 for this cottage. We had a few little queries which were quickly ironed out with no fuss by the owner Martin.

Small and not cheap, but fine for two and beautifully restored with a simple but delightful garden

The cottage has been restored with great care and the first floor in particular is a triumph. The village is extremely friendly and convenient. We are delighted with the holiday but have two complaints and an observation. The main one is you and the disgraceful delay in the return of our deposit - over two weeks andstill awaited. The very minor one is the Lack of anywhere comfortable to sit reasonably near to the TV. It might be easierto have it downstairs. The observation is that the supply of firewood was very mean - not enough for more than one night. This was not a problem for us as it was mild and we did not use the fire at all but it may well be later when it's colder

Our apologies for the delay in the deposit refund. However this is out of our control and automatically sent by HomeAway two weeks after your return. We understand that it has now been sent to you. We do understand and sympathise regarding the TV however we only have one in the bedroom as we deliberately wished to make the cottage a real getaway in every sense of the word. We have only had two comments in 6 years so our clients actually seem to be overwhelmingly approving of the current arrangement! We note your comments regarding the logs and we will review the amount supplied in future. Pleased that otherwise you had an excellent stay and enjoyed the cottage and we hope to see you again in the future!

Charmingly Perfect Cotswold Cottage

We very much enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend it. The cottage was spotless and well-stocked. The owners had thoughtfully left a delicious bottle of Prosecco in the fridge, along with other treats. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was just gorgeous. My favorite part (besides the just total "adorableness" of the house) was the glorious garden out back. I spent several peaceful and rejuvenating afternoons and evenings just sitting out there soaking in the birdsongs and richly blooming flowers. It is very convenient to main roads while still being far enough off the beaten path to be conducive to scenic strolls. While we loved the character and ambiance of the stone spiral staircase, it might be a challenge for some. It and the vintage fireplace inside truly set a "going back in time" feel for the cottage - which was exactly what we were looking for. The owners are very kind and prompt with their communications. We would gladly stay there again

Idyllic country hideaway

If you’re looking for relaxation and peace then this is the ideal place to stay. The cottage is compact but has everything you need. It is full of character with exposed beams and a wood burner and it’s comfortably and stylishly furnished. There are some great walks nearby and the local pub serves delicious food. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a quite country break.

Perfect cottage in a fantastic location

We had an absolutely magical stay at this beautiful cottage and fell in love with the Cotswolds in the short time we were here. The cottage was very cosy and luxurious, we loved having breakfast in the garden seating area and having the log burner on during the evenings. Perfect base

Beautiful;y decorated cottage with a fairytale-like outlook. If you prefer an extremely quite village, as we do, but yet a perfect base to make trips from to the South (e.g. Bath) or the North (Stratford, Bourton, Slaughter's), this is the place to stay. Tall people should take the warnings about low beams and door openings very serious, but after a few days and bumps that is no longer a problem. Kitchen outfit is very complete but the cosy Tunnel Inn is nearby if you do not want to cook.

The "thatched roof cottage" as we referred to it, is beautiful!

The "thatched roof cottage," as we referred to it, is beautiful! The cottage itself is full of character and comfort (and full of modern luxuries). The grounds and garden are beautiful--full of herbs and apple and plum trees to augment your meals. We were thrilled to have the time to relax at the cottage.

This was a beautiful cottage set in a picturesque village .

We had a five day stay and found the little touches of wine , fresh flowers and biscuits lovely . The gardens were beautiful and it was great to be able to sit out and take in the county air on the outdoor settees . The local pub was a 15 minute walk across the fields and the staff were so friendly and food great ! Felt utterly relaxed and hope to come back very soon

Amazing cottage

Absolutely immaculate little cottage! Romantic and peaceful it was a perfect bolt hole for us to get away for a few days. The design has been given lots of thought and it is very modern and tasteful whilst still showing off the history. Local area great too with lots to see. Along with all extras and a bottle of Prosecco on arrival (thanks!) this was a magical place - will be back.

We have been visiting the Cotswolds for many years and loved it so much that we decided to move here with our retired guide dog - Lola the Labrador.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

Asphodel Cottage was our own Cotswold retreat for several years before we decided to move to the area. Since then we have converted the property in to a dedicated holiday rental, equipped with every possible extra, for everyone to enjoy!

We bought the cottage as a very run down and neglected property and carefully restored it from earth and bare walls using traditional materials and methods.

Using our design and art consultancy experience we added a stylish and comfortable interior together with top quality appliances, satellite TV and unlimited wifi.

We hope that you enjoy the cottage as much as we still often do.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

We think that we have the only detached thatched cottage for two persons in the Cotswolds.

Together with its private garden, peaceful rural location and it is a pretty and unique property.

It is a perfect romantic retreat - so much so that we have lost count of the honeymoons, mini-moons and marriage proposals at the cottage. We already get regulars coming back for anniversaries of their special stays.

And all within 90 minutes of London and in the heart of the Cotswolds…!
