Absolutely beautiful home-from-home. Spotless and tastefully furnished, with everything provided. Martin is a great host - welcoming (thank you for the welcome basket - delicious bread!) and helpful. The garden is completely dog-secure and we all loved sitting outside. In the evenings we sat inside with the doors open watching the bats.We had a lovely few days visiting the gorgeous beaches at Happisburgh, Cart Gap and Walcott, as well as Holt (town and country park), Blickling Hall and Cromer, and the surrounding villages. We'll definitely be back!
We went to celebrate a family members birthday! The property suited all our needs, was well equip and Martin gave a warm welcome. It was ideally situated to explore and weather was kind so we visited a local beach and took a host tour on The Broads. We would love to come back and stay again !
We enjoyed a lovely stay in this stunning accommodation! Perfect for all our needs. Clean, comfortable and well equipped. Near enough to local attractions but far enough away to enjoy peaceful summer evenings in the garden.
Great Holiday Cottage - Safe, clean, quiet and peaceful!
The cottage is solid build and well insulated making it feel warm and welcoming! The rooms are well furnished and spacious! The living room has a nice sofa area with open planned
kitchen. The kitchen equipment serves well for 4-5 people and there is a dishwasher and washing machine making it attractive for families with little ones! Itâs also great for bringing your dog along! Safe garden area that is well fenced in!
Great location and nearest sandy beach only 15min drive!
We were here for 2 weeks last summer. This time too everything was wonderful. A wonderful house and a fantastic area. Very warm hosts. The house is very clean and everything you need is there. The house alone would be a reason to come again. However, we will probably have to go to another area next year if we want to explore the country even further.Warm greetings to the owners !
Lovely, spacious and spotlessly clean cottage!
Ideal for our brief trip to visit family in Norfolk
Very good accessible accommodation...the only thing my brother (a wheelchair user) struggled a little bit with was the gravel outside. He had to make sure he parked right on the path for getting out of the car...otherwise all good!
Fab welcome basket which was very much appreciated!
Thanks very much
Accommodation spotless. Lovely welcome pack. Thank you. Only thing I would mention is there is no shower in the upstairs bathroom. Not a problem but mixer taps with a shower head would have been good for washing hair. Ticked all the boxes for disabled 91 year old dad. Overall great stay.
When we arrived we were greeted very friendly. We were shown the house and given a delicious welcome pack. The bread and jam were delicious. The house was very clean and everything you need was there. The house is also very spacious and much larger than it looked in the pictures. We felt very comfortable. In the morning it was especially nice to sit on the terrace and listen to the owls. In the small village it is quiet and relaxing. We have made many trips, explored the area and also been to Lincolnshire and Essex. The children swam a lot in the sea. We were able to spend two perfect weeks here, it was beautiful and we took wonderful memories with us. I can definitely recommend the accommodation. There is nothing to complain about.
The country roads are a bit adventurous because they are very narrow. We came in a big car. But we also know the roads in England very well and were not surprised. It was kind of fun too. We've always bet on how many cars we'll have to make room for :-)
Greetings to the owners. I wish you always holiday makers who treat the beautiful house with respect.
Thoroughly enjoyed the peace and tranquility in this property. The host was extremely helpful, the Unit very clean, comfortable and roomy. Our every need was accommodated and we loved the fresh bread, butter, eggs and marmalade....such a lovely touch to make our stay even more memorable. We were able to venture out to nearby Blickling, a National Trust property; have a delightful return ride on the Wroxham to Alysham small steam train; be spoiled at the Gunton Arms with a roast dinner while watching deer roaming and then take a relaxing drive to Mundelsy Beach. All this during a magnificent Spring time where we were constantly oohing and aahing over daffodils, magnolias and blossoming trees and shrubs and nonchalant pheasants. This was a genealogy expedition for us and we can now see why our ancestors lived here.
Absolutely recommend this StayZ holiday.
What a lovely property Woodpecker Lodge is, it has everything you could possibly need was clean and very comfortable. We were made very welcome by Martin and Jackie. Would recommend to anyone.
It is very rural and ideal to get away from it all, but you do need a car to get about to places. However, it is ideally positioned to visit the many surrounding areas.
Very clean and well equipped property. Great location for exploring the broads and local beaches. Helpful owner lives next door. Surprise welcome basket was appreciated and a nice touch.
The cleanest holiday home Iâve ever stayed at which had everything we could have wanted. Owners next door if we wanted anything. Would definitely recommend.
Property was as described on website. Very clean and everything immaculate on arrival, lovely complimentary welcome basket of fresh breakfast goodies on arrival. Host was very welcoming and accommodating. Our only issue was initially finding the property, however the host had already given us contact number had we required to contact him for directions. Ideal base for visiting the local area.
Would definitely recommend
This property had everything we needed and was extremely comfortable. The welcome pack is exceptional (it included a freshly baked loaf - still warm).
There is very little phone signal and the Wi-Fi is not great, so you can expect a very peaceful stay đ
Short break in rural Norfolk with our elderly parents and not forgetting our dog Sammy!! We Couldnât have picked a better place Central to all places of interest including the Broads and a short drive to the beach A lovely warm welcome from our hosts Martin and Jackie So attentive and friendly !! The house is super clean and airy with all that you need for a comfortable stay We loved it!! And will return and probably stay longer Love Norfolk ⊠love Woodpecker Lodge â€ïž
We had a great 10 days here over Christmas and New Year. Set in beautiful countryside opposite fields. Not too far to shops. Very peaceful location and absolutely silent at night. Hosts are great and very accommodating when covid restrictions meant our original planned booking had to be cancelled, it was moved and subsequently had to change again but this was no trouble at all. We will certainly go back again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here as we had a mult-generational household and everyone had enough space to themselves. Such a clean and comfortable rental which was convenient for some stunning local beaches and the Norfolk Broads. A really enjoyable week was had by all. Thank you. The Gregan family.
Great holiday in a very clean comfortable home. Well equipped, change of towels midweek and a substantial welcome pack. Good location for beach, the Broads and sightseeing. Would highly recommend. Obliging hosts. Thank you.
Excellent in all ways. Lovely property in a super location, close to coast and the countryside. Good for dogs and elderly family which was important to us.
A very homely holiday home, set in Honing, which is a great location to access the NE Norfolk beaches & the Norfolk Broads.
The property was very clean & well-maintained and had a BBQ, which was used a couple of times!
The owners were very welcoming & made sure we had all we needed & that there were no issues whilst we stayed there.
I would recommend this property highly.
The property was in a lovely countryside location, very comfortable and clean. The garden was ideal for relaxing after a long day exploring the Norfolk coast. Our dog Oscar enjoyed the walks around the area, a lot to explore in the countryside. I would definetly recommend to people who enjoy a quiet holiday and very well located for exploring Broads in Norfolk
Absolutely stunning little lodge in a lovely remote area with easy access to some beautiful surroundings for walking.
The lodge was absolutely spotless with everything you need, owners are next door but are not at all intrusive.
My name is Martin Jarvis and I have lived in Honing with my wife for 26 years. We have two dogs Flo and Buster and enjoying using the many local public footpaths to take them for walks. Our daughter married last year and we our looking forward to welcoming our first grandchild into the world this summer. We thoroughly enjoy living here as it is a very peaceful and tranquil place to live with no noise or disruption. It makes a great place for countryside walks. My favourite pass time is fishing at the nearby Dilham Fisheries and the Old Stables fishing lake in North Walsham and also spending time with my family.
