Fantastic location and facilities for a relaxing holiday.
The trullo is in a great location for relaxing, shopping and tourism including beautiful towns, great choice of good restaurants, stunning countryside, access to the coast and beaches, and very well equipped for guests. The pool is a fantastic asset and the view of the sun setting over the pool on our first evening was unforgettable. The owners could not have been more helpful and communicative throughout the whole process and even performed a taxi service to take us to and from one of the nearby towns for a special celebration evening. All in all it made a special holiday even more special. I have no hesitation in recommending it and we are even considering a return visit in the future.
The trullo has a fantastic location, away from the road, but not remote. Easy access by car to stores in Martina Franca or Locorotondo or Alberobello. Daytrips to Bari, Matera, or Monopoli are within easy reach. The trullo is comfortable and well appointed. At night it is very quiet. The porch is a great place to spend an afternoon. It was too cold to use the pool in April, but it had already been opened.
Perfect location for a quiet stay, in a beautiful setting, but also easy to get into lovely towns.
Clean, well equipped accommodation with a great pool. Sarah and Nick were friendly, helpful informative hosts.
A fantastic relaxing, refreshing stay.
Clean, well-appointed space and great hosts; Nick and Sarah were very helpful and responsive before and after my stay. The pool is a bonus and welcoming respite after a day of visiting neighboring towns. Location js convenient to do day trips to Locorotondo, Alberobello, even Matera! An amazing start to my Italian vacation!
Had a wonderful stay in idyllic surroundings, Nick & Sarah were perfect hosts (Sarahâs Tiramisu was delicious) Very comfy bed and great coffee machine. Would have loved to stay longer!
Absolutely perfect, location ideal, house beautiful, alot of love and care gone into this wonderful house and the proprietors Nicholas and Sarah are lovely people.
We had a lovely time the trullo was in a fantastic rural area but in easy reach of all the beautiful towns, the pool was fantastic and much enjoyed! Lovely big bright bedroom immaculately presented throughout and Sarah and Nicholas were a lovely friendly couple.
The Trullo, is as beautiful as the pictures. Sarah and Nicholas are brilliant hosts, going above and beyond, making our holiday even better than expected. From the welcome gifts of homemade soap and olive oil to the delicious biscuits. We would definitely recommend them and their Trullo and hopefully we will be back. Thank you so much to you both.
Lovely setting, great views with glorious sunsets. Very comfortable accommodation. Lots to explore near by but remote enough to totally relax and unwind. Our nearly teens loved the pool. Good for nights in or out - we particularly liked Martina Franca. Will return for sure one day.
Trullo Martinese is a fantastic property, more than we expected.
The Trullo is located off the beaten track but close to some great towns. For us, Locorotondo just pipped Martina Franca but both have interesting old towns with a variety of restaurants and bars.
All the main attractions of this part of Puglia were close by with some good beaches only half an hour away.
Nick and Sarah are great hosts, thank you.
Another visit to Trullo Martinese, this really is a perfect Trullo for a relaxing holiday.
Well fitted out with a kitchen that has everything you need for a successful self-catering holiday (even down to the weighing scales to make your own pasta and focaccia if you wish, which I did).
The owners are lovely and nothing is too much trouble for them with an excellent information on the locale with suggestions for restaurants, etc.
I am sure we shall be returning.
We loved our week long stay at Trullo martinese. From the idyllic setting, to the lovely interiors and the very warm welcome from the owners, we had a fantastic week. The scenery is gorgeous, very quiet and relaxing and the trulliâs facilities (especially the pool !) are fantastic. Fresh figs from the tree every morning for breakfast and homemade olive oil were a great local treat. And a shuttle service from Sarah into the local towns for a night out meant we enjoyed the buzz of the local towns as well as the quiet daytimes. Canât recommend this highly enough.
Wonderful trullo in a lovely part of Italy. Nick and Sarah were great hosts and provided us with everything we could possibly need. We made full use of the produce available in the garden and although slightly later in the year enjoyed the pool especially after a day of visiting one of the local white towns and Matera.
An old trullo expanded to accommodate 2 bedrooms and 2 bathsâŠgood location for our daily self-guided toursâŠdefinitely need a car!âŠpool was nice but only one day in high 20s made it usableâŠall good though! Be prepared to kill little bugs on the regular hahahaha We didnât cook any meals other than breakfastâŠthe host offers prepared meals at a price but we were out and about most times or just brought some bread, cheese, olives back home!
This is a beautiful property. We would highly recommend it. Sarah and Nickolas were excellent hosts, making us feel very welcome but also respecting our privacy. We took advantage of Sarahâs cooking and were served 2 delicious Italian meals: we would highly recommend. The garden and pool area is stunning. Look forward to our return đ
This house has everything you need for your stay in a quiet peaceful location with plenty of options on restaurants and shops in the towns nearby. We were spoiled with being able to pick fresh figs and plums from the trees in the garden every morning for breakfast. The pool is fantastic with all day sun and is surrounded by lavender so you can't help but relax. The veranda is ideally located to watch the sun go down in the evening with a glass of wine. We had a really great holiday and could not recommend this house highly enough.
We had a lovely peaceful stay in this spacious traditional Trullo. It was very well equipped and spotlessly clean. The location is off the main road up a gravel track so a smallish car is advisable. It was beautiful and quiet with panoramic views across the countryside. The gardens surrounding the trullo and swimming pool are well maintained. It is well located to visit the surrounding hilltop villages and places of interest and easy access to both Bari and Brindisi airports. Nicholas and Sarah our hosts were very helpful and we enjoyed a home cooked meal and breakfast which can be ordered during your stay. Overall a lovely holiday which we intend to repeat sometime in the future.
Really fabulous trulli set in a beautiful garden. Hosts Nick and Sarah could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Location is excellent, the nearby Martina Franca is beautiful with excellent restaurants. Many sights in the area and beaches only 40 minutes away. If anyone is concerned about the lack of air conditioning then don't be - the trulli is designed to be cool and fans are provided as well. We survived the Italian heatwave when the night time temp was in high 20s every night - no disturbed sleep at all!
Wonderful stay at Trullo Martinese - would go back in a heartbeat!
We had a wonderful stay at this trullo in September '22. It has a ideal location as very private yet only a short drive to Martina Franca and well placed for must-visits to other nearby towns. The trullo is spacious inside with well-equipped kitchen that perfectly met our cooking needs, but the star of the show is the fantastic space outside and the pool which was perfect for cooling off. We had a wonderfully relaxing week enjoying the outside space and evening barbeques at the trullo.
NIck and Sarah were great hosts - attentive and quick to respond to any queries, but also left us to a private week at the trullo. Clear communication ahead of our arrival, straightforward check-in and useful recommendations were very much appreciated.
This Trullo is absolutely gorgeous and is much roomier than the photos suggest. The photos do not do it justice. Sarah and Nicholas were very helpful and we knew where they were if we needed them for anything. Great location for visiting all the places of interest but a car is essential for this. Beautiful countryside, olive groves, vineyards, and Trulli all around. Loved the private pool but it was a wee bit cold at this time of year. The aroma of the herbs in the garden and around the pool is quite intoxicating.
Excellent property, excellent hosts.
Genuine ex-farm/vineyard Trullo villa with pool in a large patch of its own land in a secluded location. Ideal for getting away from it and chilling by the pool or visiting the beaches or nearby towns of the Val d'Istria (Martina, Alberobello, Locorotondo) or further afield (Lecce, Matera). Plenty of space inside and out. Watching the sun go down from the roof terrace or pool is a must. Hosts live in the next house which adds a sense of security, surety and on-hand service!
Minor downsides: off-mains water, so bottled water needed; there was loud music from a local town echoing up the valley late in the night on a day we were there.
I can honestly say that me and my husband (and I am sure I speak for our friends) found the trullo a beautiful place to holiday. The countryside setting is peaceful and very restful, with amazing fruit trees in the garden, particularly the fig tree which was well used.
The Trullo is beautifully appointed, with all linens supplied, and the kitchen well appointed. The owners even leant us a slow cooker! The owners are near by and nothing is too much trouble. There are great views from the roof to the surrounding towns. The pool is kept beautifully clean and cleaned throughout holiday.
If you want a relaxing holiday in a lovely area, in a beautiful trullo then I would highly recommend this rental.
We had a lovely stay at Trullo Martinese. Nicholas and Sarah are excellent hosts, available when needed but unobtrusive otherwise, and the Trullo is very private. The Trullo is in a very rural location, but less than ten minutes' drive to Martina Franca. We never felt cut off, and enjoyed the countryside around us. The access road is quite rough, so don't hire a sports type car! The VW Golf we had was fine.
We loved the pool and outside seating area in particular. We tended to retreat indoors in the evenings when the insects came in - one of us is susceptible to insect bite reactions - and found the indoor space to be comfortably cool. We slept very well in the spacious bedroom.
One day Sarah kindly drove us into town, and collected us during the evening. Another time she cooked us a meal, adapting the recipe to accommodate one of us who can't eat cheese. It was delicious and plentiful, highly recommended.
We easily visited local villages whilst there, with easy drives to get there, and helpful parking recommendations from Nicholas and Sarah. This is a fabulous place to stay and we would happily return if in this part of Italy again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Trullo Martinese. It's in a quiet, rural spot, with great views from up on the roof terrace across fields with olive trees and vines. But it's a short drive to the lovely towns of Locorotondo, Martina Franca and Alberobello. We had a week of very hot weather so spent a lot of time in the pool cooling off but then in the evening would pick a town for drinks, dinner, ice cream or sometimes all three!
The house has been thoughtfully set up as a home from home. The character of the original trullo has been preserved whilst adding up-to-date fittings. The decor is simple and bright with some local touches, and everywhere was spotlessly clean. We had everything we needed with a fully equipped kitchen, extra towels for the pool, plenty of toys for the children, a large selection of novels and local guidebooks.
The English owners live nearby and are available if needed for anything, but otherwise left us to enjoy the peace and quiet of the trullo. They were very friendly and helpful and obviously take pride in sharing this lovely place with visitors.
Highly recommended - we would certainly love to come back and stay here again.
