Really cozy and comfy, just what we needed. Hot tub was glorious, kitchen was very well kitted out with everything required.
Helen was awesome and really helpful and we plan on returning again.
Stayed for three nights November 2024. Cottage was comfortable with everything you need for a short break. Cottage is a little tired, but was perfectly comfortably for our stay. Hosts were quick to respond. Hot tub was excellent - very clean. There were no household products so if you stay here bring toilet roles and fairy liquid!
Amazing 10 nights away in the cottage. Equipped with everything we needed and more. Beautiful cream tea waiting for us on arrival. Quiet and peaceful location with the added bonus of the hot tub. We will be back.
A comfortable stay for a few nights in the countryside. The property is on one level with a secured outdoor space which is great for toddlers. Our host was incredibly responsive to my queries prior to arrival. The kitchen is well equipped. The property is right on a public footpath and the view across the fields is stunning!too cloudy for stars this time!
Lovely lodge with an added bonus of the hot tub great for a family of 4 and a dog.
Not far from Exeter, we visited the local pub that has just reopened, Newton Abbot races and the Eden project
Awesome short break for, Xmas had a tree in lounge a hot tub in garden all ya need for short stay great hosts, nice touches scones and wine definitely recommend ,and dog friendly .
We had a lovely relaxing stay. Rachel was great and took on board our suggestion about the patio as the gravel hurt our dog's feet. Looking forward to seeing the improvement when we return. Hot tub was perfect overall a wonderful time away.
A cracking weekend away with a great secluded hot tub, lovely to be away from the real world for a few days. Local put all was fab too. Canât wait to return!
Lovely stay over new year, very warm and cosy place. We managed to cook various meals with the facilities/utensils in the kitchen.
Very clean hot tub.
Ideal location for avoiding fireworks, perfect for our nervous dogs on NYE.
We had a really lovely stay.Very relaxing. Accommodation good plenty of room and everything you needed.Enjoyed the hot tub an added bonus.Host very friendly and helpful.Very informative.Well equipped kitchen.
Look forward to staying again one day.
We've been there in March, and had an amazing time. The cottage is absolutely wonderful. Made us feel like home from the first moment we've entered it. It was clean and warm. Something about that place, made us feel welcomed.
We had a lovely surprise to be welcomed with scones, cream and jam, which we truly thank for, to the host.
The hot tub was amazing.
Overall, a place we would recommend to anyone, and we've already booked the next holiday there đ
We were very pleased with the cottage when we arrived. The children had lots of fun in the hot tub and the cream tea waiting for us was delicious. We enjoyed a pony ride and a very nice meal in a put a short drive away. However, the weather was not on our side so we left early. A shame as there was a lot to do near by if the weather had been better. One thing to be aware if travelling with children - once they are awake, you will be awake as the cottage is compact and the walls thin. Definitely would recommend though as is a lovely place.
My husband , our puppy and I , stayed in this cute cottages for our 25th aniversary.
Helen and Rachel were lovely, descrete, , and they were so sweet about our dog . They left us a bottle of wineas a present
Hot tub was lovely. I saw deer everyday from the footpath next to the cottage. Location is nestled in the heart of this beautiful county: within 30 minutes of lidford gorge and fingle Bridge.
Only down side was the garden was not secure, so puppy was a little restricted( he likes hours of independant garden time).
However didn't spoil our stay, great value and we loved our longweekend, thank you đ
We had a wonderful stay in this lovely holiday home. Tucked away in a private area, all we could hear were the birds and and occasional moo from a cow :-) We arrived to a clean accomodation with well made beds and blankets for extra snugness. The kitchen is well equiped, theres plenty of cupboard space for food shopping, and a nice little table to eat dinner at. The lounge is in the centre of the property making this a lovely sociable holiday home. The garden is clean and well kept and the hot tub was a real asset, lovely and hot and was a real treat. I would highly reccomend to stay here, the hosts left a lovely cream tea for our arrival, and sugar, coffee, tea and milk so we could make a cuppa after our journey there. Lots of dvds and games to entertain our children, nothing at all to grumble about! Also I loved the fact there was a decent hoover :-) Towels were also provided and we wanted for nothing, would give this place a 10/10 Thank you for letting us be your guests x
We chose this property for its jacuzzi and a secure private garden for our reactive dog. The jacuzzi was lovely, especially on a sunny evening. It was checked daily which meant going out or shutting the dog in at these times.
The mattresses on the singles were not comfortable enough for my teenagers to use but the hosts kindly replaced them the same day as I contacted them.
Our hunting-obsessed ex street dog was very happy to hunt in the garden all day. However, the enclosed garden is not secure and he escaped multiple times. There are two neighbouring new build houses which are currently empty but there is the potential for serious consequences once these are occupied. There is also a hudden stretch of barbed wire fencing in the bushes which was dangerous for the dog.
The adjacent semi secure grassy field was great for dog walks.
A car is needed here but lots is availablea short drive away. We enjoyed the Water park near Brixham, walking around the Castle Drogo area, GoApe and pottery painting near Exeter and the seaside. Okehampton is a nice village for a mooch too.
Overall, a lovely barn conversion in a great area of the country. Once the garden is made safe and fully secure, it will be a haven of tranquility for dog owning guests.
Just returned from a 3 night stay at this lodge out in the country. On arrival the lodge was very cold and being a cold mortal myself, we had put on all of the plug in radiators to warm up. The bathroom was particularly cold, but the whole lodge soon became cosy. Please note there is no central heating in the lodge. The host had left us 2 small scones with jam and clotted cream in the fridge, along with some milk, teabags and a small jar of sugar. There was also 2 rolls of toilet paper in the bathroom and a small amount of washing up liquid that just covered the 3 night stay. Host Helen was excellent at responding very quickly to our communications and recommending places to eat out with our dogs. If you love walking, exploring and switching off, this is a great place to stay. Itâs so close to Castle Drogo and Fingle Woods. Whilst the lodge was clean, the TV was dusty and there were a few cobwebs in places. I also agree with previous reviewersâ comments regarding the lodge looking a little tired, especially the bathroom which would benefit from repainting. However, these comments would not stop me from returning as the lodge is excellent value for money in a great location.
The property is situated in the countryside, some miles from any tourist attractions. The property had everything needed to self cater. The host was very accommodating and great communication.
