Just returned after a week at La Badoussie and have to say it is one of the best places we have ever stayed. The outdoor and pool area is just amazing and we were fortunate enough to spend almost the entire week relaxing around it. The location of the property is wonderful and peaceful with perfect Dordogne views. We have had the most fabulous week and will definitely be back. A big thank you to Colleen the owner for excellent communication and instructions before arriving.
We had the best time. Your home is so beautiful, classy, and super clean. The grounds were pristine, and the view was mesmerizing.
The roses were blooming and so colorful. Cyrille, the gardener, does a wonderful job keeping it up.
We have stayed in so many villas all over the world for the last 25 yearsâand yours is now our favorite.
I could go on and on about how much we loved it.
Thanks again for allowing us to spend time there. We hope to return some day.
We were so excited about this holiday having waited two years for it and we weren't disappointed with the Dordogne, the location of the gite or the gite itself. The scenery is stunning and the view from La Badoussie was exceptional. There were lots of beautiful chateaux, villages and towns to visit within a relatively short drive. Nearby Daglan was lovely with really good restaurants. The gite was spacious and comfortable with an en-suite to each of the five bedrooms. Outside, we enjoyed the swimming pool and BBQs. Colleen was exceptionally helpful from the time of our original booking and during our stay. We will treasure the family holiday memories made at La Badoussie for many years to come.
This house has everything you could need. Lovely large ensuite bedrooms, huge kitchen, two sitting rooms, a large heated pool, extensive garden and fantastic view. A very comfortable and relaxing base to enjoy the beautiful Dordogne region. We stayed as a family and had a great time. A big thank you to Colleen & David for making their lovely house available and timely communications.
We all had a tremendous time at this perfect house. The owners are a delight to deal with and the house is situated in arguably the most attractive part of the Dordogne - beautiful countryside, the 'Beau Village' of Daglan, numerous local chateaux and close proximity to the river Dordogne, Domme and Sarlat.
The recent improvements to the pool area were very much enjoyed by the whole family as, despite the surrounding area, this is where we spent the majority of our holiday.
We are very much looking forward to returning.
Many thanks
We had a fantastic week at La Badoussie. This is a beautiful property in a perfect location for exploring the main sights in the Dordogne. It was very spacious, well equipped and clean. We would love to return one day. Thank you.

Amazing French house in a stunning location
We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at La Badoussie and really impressed with the style of the house and the size of the outside space. Every bedroom was a good size and each had its own view and character. If you like cooking then youâll love the kitchen - so well equipped and plenty of space. The highlight for us though was the heated swimming pool and breathtaking view from the back of the house. You could see for miles down into the valley and even better with a glass of local wine. The owners were great and answered all our questions in good time. I would highly recommmend this place for a great family holiday and even better with friends.

A wonderful house in a beautiful part of France
Even better than the online photos, La Badoussie is a great house in which to have a family get together. Well-equipped eat-in kitchen, two sitting rooms, large dining room, outdoor dining, helpful owners. Close to the village of Daglan, which has a grocery, bakery and three restaurants. We visited in the month of September, which we highly recommend, as the throngs of summer tourism come to a halt on September 1.
What a beautiful house and David & Colleen had thought of absolutely everything! The house is perfect for a large family or as we were, 2 families sharing. We opted to have the pool heated which was worth the it as the children were never out of it! The location of the the house is perfect for exploring the the stunning local towns and villages, but a car is essential as there are no immediate amenities within walking distance, but Daglan is only a few minutes away in the car where you can find an adequately stocked small supermarket, boulangerie and restaurants. We went to Le Petit Paris and thoroughly recommend it, for such a rural restaurant the food was superb and the waiting staff were very attentive.
My "top tip" - We are not astronomers but due to the lack of light pollution try the night sky is a truly stunning and magical sight, it became our late night "thing" and on one night we saw 4 shooting stars!! A memory that will live with us for a long time.
Thank you David & Colleen for providing us with an amazing holiday and for allowing us to share your little bit of Dordogne paradise.

Amazing stay
This house is perfect for a large family or 2 families to share, Colleen & David had thought of everything. The house is not only beautiful but had the most stunning view. We opted to have the pool heated which I think was money well spent as the children were never out of it. The surrounding area is one we know well and the property is very well located to explore the stunning local villages. The outside space worked really well for evening meals on the terrace. We did venture in to Dalgan for provisions and had a meal at Le Petit Paris, which was exceptional considering how rural you are. We had our car and this is a must as there are no amenities within walking distance but within a 30 minute drive you can certainly explore the very best the Dordogne has to offer, even if you are only staying for a week, as we were.
I wrote a "Top Tip" in the guest book but wanted to share it here too as this was one of the unexpected highlights of our holiday. We are not astronomers but due to the lack of light pollution on a clear night the stars were literally dazzling, a truly amazing spectacle, on one night alone we saw 4 shooting stars!
Thank you David & Colleen for sharing your beautiful house, we very much enjoyed it being "ours" for a week!
It's hard to put into words how great our time was at La Badoussie. David and Colleen were gracious and accommodating from the very beginning of our contact, and once we stepped into the house our party of 10 felt like we were home. History and authenticity were evoked at every turn, while offering every modern convenience. Plenty of room for all. Classy decor. Lovely indoor-outdoor set-up. Breathtaking views. Spot-on advice. Ideal location. We could go on and on. If we are fortunate to make it back to the Dordogne, we all agreed that there would be no need to look any further that La Badoussie for accommocations - because you can't improve upon perfection. Many thanks for helping us have an unforgettable holiday in France, starting with the perfect home base.

"Dear Colleen, Our stay in your gorgeous property was fabulous! Everything was perfect, from the beautiful house , the landscape, the perspective and the location in itself. The spread of the bedrooms was exactly what we needed for our family, so everyone had his/her own niche ; the interior decoration is elegant and discrete; the kitchen is very well equipped, although an extra large frying pan would have been welcomed to make my pomme de terre Sarladaises avec cĂšpes for 10 hungry people; the pool is great and the children throughly enjoyed it every late afternoon after some visits in the region; the house itself was impeccably clean and ready for our enjoyment. We had dinner outside almost every night facing the exquisite panorama of my beloved Dordogne. Our love for your house can be summarized in the tears of Mason, my 4 year old grand-son who did not want to leave to go to Paris, where I was raised and where I brought my sons every summer before going to Mauzac where my family estate was. In short, every single adult and child in our family simply loved your house and wants to come back in the future. It was perfect.â€ïž"

Home from home with all the bells and whistles of a stunning holiday retreat.
The accommodation was absolutely excellent, well positioned for exploring the region and had all of the amenities you cold wish for.
The local attractions are on the doorstep and the roads are excellent / traffic light in comparison to the UK.
Local markets and food excellent, we had an amazing time and felt thoroughly relaxed.
Our return flight was cancelled and our hosts couldnât help enough to ease the pain and we stayed an extra four days.
I canât thank our hosts enough for providing us with an outstanding and wonderful holiday home.
We hope return soon.
We spent just over a week at the property in mid-June. As a family of 4 with the grandparents in tow it was a marvellous base from which to explore the picturesque area just south of the Dordogne river. The quality of the finish in the property, the space and the amenities were second to none. The owners were very flexible and were an invaluable help when we realised we had left something of value in the property. The property would work very well for large groups / multi-generational. Of particular note were the views across the rolling hills - easy to spend hours looking out from the pool! In terns of local attractions the local town of Daglan was beautiful and had some excellent restaurants / Sunday market. Our favourite was the bakery in Chateau Castelnaud which was a daily favourite! Thank you and we hope to be back again soon
Homely, peaceful, beautifully presented, and well equipped in a stunning location with very fine country views. Whilst we were 4 couples it would be ideal for families. The owners were very helpful and on arrival the property was clean and the beds were very comfortable. the best we have stayed in
We were a group of 9 that booked nearly 12 months in advance to stay for a week. We were firstly captured by the wonderful photos on Owners Direct and the space this house would provide for us. When we arrived we all looked at one another and knew we had made exactly the right choice. The owners were more than helpful in every way leading up to our stay by giving us very detailed instructions, directions and advising us of places to visit. The house was decorated to a very high standard and all bedrooms were so very comfortable. We had minor hiccups with the swimming pool cover but this was dealt with immediately on contacting the owners, nothing was a problem. The only thing that was missing was a toaster but I suppose we were in France. Our last night sitting outside on the verandah we were visited by wild deer, spectacular. Thank you so much for letting us stay and we all decided that we would return.
This house is just fabulous. It takes your breath away when you step inside. It's furnished to a very high standard and is much bigger than it appears in the photos. It's location is also first class - close to the river, castles, and bike riding. Frankly, look no further!
We had a wonderful stay in this lovely house. The facilities were perfect. The owners had thought of everything even down to the torches on the bedside tables in case of a power cut. The house was spacious and so arranged that people could have their own space. The views from the house were lovely. The family loved the swimming pool. We loved Daglan with its two very good restaurants, the boulangerie, small supermarket and its weekly market. We would really recommend this house and hope to go again in the future.
We cannot recommend 'La Badoussie' highly enough.
From the photographs (which are very accurate), we had high expectations of this property and we were not disappointed. We were overwhelmed by how beautiful the property is and by the wonderful location too. The views are breathtaking and there are many lovely villages within a short drive (Domme and La Roque-Gageac were particular favourites of ours). A very clever refurbishment provides light, spacious split level accommodation, with luxury furnishings ( bedding from the White Company, crockery from John Lewis) and a very well equipped Kitchen. Exceptionally clean and well maintained. The outside space is huge with lovely flowerbeds, a beautiful pool and luxury sun-loungers.
We had the pleasure of staying at La Badoussie for a week in June 2015. Booked at the last minute, the owners, David & Colleen were most helpful in getting everything ready for our imminent arrival. And when we did arrive we were certainly not dissappointed! This is a beautifully restored property with plenty of space for a large family. It is light & airy (not always the case with properties out here) & was exceptionally well equipped. There were three generations of our family & the property afforded something for everyone. The bedrooms were all well-sized & very comfortable, the kitchen spacious & well-appointed, a large bright summer room, & a cosy lounge with a fire if the weather turns cold. The huge garden was great for the children to run around in & they loved the swing & slide. There is a tremendous outlook from the property & the pool area, & the pool itself is heated which was just as well as the week prior to our arrival had been cold & very wet. There are some beautiful villages nearby (especially Daglan) & the the property is well located for many of the more popular places to visit. All in all a beautiful house in a lovely part of the Dordogne & one day we hope perhaps to return.
