A beautiful place to stay overlooking the woods and the sea and the space is perfect for enjoying the best of both. Lovely welcoming owners who are lucky to live in this heavenly spot
Itâs the second time weâve stayed in this lovely house. Annie and Bear are great hosts, quick to answer any questions. The area is beautiful with an excellent pub - The CoombeBarton Inn just down the road which does amazing food. The two cafes in the bay are also excellent for breakfast. We look forward to our next stay. .
What an absolutely lovely place. great communication and a lovely welcome from
Jonny.
Superb location for walking, and stunning coastline. Very comfortable, very clean and just stunning views.
Great pub, cafe and additional lunch/cafe - all within a few minutes walk (steep hill warning) All did really good food and drink.
Will be returning without a doubt. Loved it.
Thanks to John & Annie for having us, we had such a wonderful weekend, the pictures really donât do Mays cottage justice, we had everything we needed for our anniversary weekend stay, perfect location, The Coombe Barton Inn pub down the road is a must! We canât wait to return! Thanks again for having us.
All you could want from a place to stay.
Lots of character, clean and tidy. Absolutely stunning views I didn't want to leave .
Hosts were very accommodating and friendly .
Perfect stay, would love to return one day
Quaint airy little cottage where you can just sit on the balcony watching life on the beach or walk there through the woods. The owners are delightful and made me more than welcome - will definately be back.
The photos on the HomeAway app/website do not do this wonderful cottage justice. From the fully-equipped kitchen complete with cooker, microwave, fridge and washing machine to the cosy lounge with a good sized smart TV, this little home has everything you could want. We spent so much time on the spacious balcony with a wonderful joint view of countryside and sea enjoying meals we were able to cook in the apartment- even managing a full Sunday roast. The comfy bedroom and lovely toilet/shower room make this everything you need to be not only looked after but spoilt.
Wonderfully the apartment was perfectly located right next to the beautifully quiet and unspoilt beach as well as a number of great walks along the coastal path which boasts breathtaking views. In the village is also the Coombe Barton Inn which is ideal for a meal out. Just a short drive away we loved Port Isaac and Tintagel and shopped for food at nearby Boscastle farm shop.
Annie and Johnnie were the perfect hosts helping give recommendations of lovely walks and places to visit and providing every thing we needed.
Accommodation was fully equipped as promised but the futon is not at all comfortable. We were 2 adults and one toddler and it was fine for us but I think 4 adults might find a bit snug.
We asked for a bathroom mat to avoid slipping in puddles when getting out of the shower but we were told to use the mop which didnât really help the situation but over all we enjoyed our stay.
Thanks for the green beans, that was kind.
Wonderful location with beautiful view.
Many thanks for a lovely stay
Wonderful location, very close to fabulous beach and cliffs of Crackington Haven, excellent for walking and views. Facilities in the cottage adequate - probably best for a couple, so that sofa-bed not required (a drag to be unfolding and folding it up every day, as it's in the middle of sitting room). Annie and John very kind and helpful.
Beautiful location & accomodation with amazing views. Our hosts were very friendly & helpful yet unintrusive, can not wait to return. Thank you Annie & Johnny
Annie and John were great the property was everything we could have wished for will certainly return and highly recommend it to everyone the situation was great as was the views the pub down the hill as recommended by John served fantastic food and very welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay.
Relaxing and revitalising - an ideal spot from which to walk the spectacular coast path and explore this beautiful part of Cornwall. A lovely cottage with great views, very peaceful, and equipped with everything I needed. John and Annie are welcoming and solicitous hosts. Brilliant! Thank you.
Such a beautiful home, so welcoming, amazing views.
Annie and Johnnie were welcoming and helpful but not at all intrusive. They have created a beautiful home and garden together, which they were generous in sharing. The annexe/apartment allowed privacy for us as guests with the convenience of the hosts being available at a moment's notice - can't help feeling we got the best of the deal! Really close to the beach but even when the weather was stormy the home was cosy and we enjoyed watching the rain sweep across the valley. Can't recommend this highly enough
We have lived in Crackington Haven for the last 25 years and feel fotunate to have brought up our family in this beautiful area of North Cornwall. I am a retired teacher and my husband, Johnny is a retired conservator of historic buildings.
We had lived in Corwall for many years when we eventually bought this house with it's stunning views of the Atlantic ocean and the surrounding countryside. It is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is quiet at any time of the year although there is a lively pub and two cafes beside the sea which is only 300 metres away. We love the leafy lane that leads down from the garden. At the bottom of the hill it forks: one way takes you - in a minute or two - down to a sheltered beach and the South West coastal path the other takes you into East Wood where a footpath follows the stream through oaks, ferns, primroses, bluebells and wood anenomes in the spring; eventually leading to another beach at Strangles or the Coastal Path to Boscastle.
We call our holiday-let Mays Cottage. Perched on the side of a hill, Mays Cottage is quiet and relaxing, and enjoys splendid views of the Ludon valley and the sea. It is ideal for a holiday at any time of the year: a romantic retreat or a walking holiday along the many beautiful footpaths in the parish. Some visitors take the bus to Boscastle or Bude and walk back along the coast path, some surf the Atlantic waves or explore the rock pools and sandy beaches. At the end of the day, enjoy watching the sunset from the balcony of Mays Cottage or sit outside the pub and watch the sun sink into the sea. There is a tennis court beside the beach, a choice of five golf courses within twenty miles and Cornwall boasts many beautiful gardens.
