We had an amazing stay! The accommodation was superb and suited us down to the ground! Being able to pop down for a swim, grab a coffee at the local cafes and then a beer at the pub was perfect. The garden and patio is great, with stunning views and masses of wildlife. A very relaxing holiday!
Penn Cliff is a perfect cosy get away. A two minute walk to a quiet beach and stunning sea views from the lounge.
Everything you need to enjoy this beautiful location is there. The hosts were quick to respond and couldnât have been more helpful
Lovely accommodation on a really nice part of the Cornish coast.
Our weather (in April) ranged from English summer heat to a 50mph gale, and both the property and the area were good for both.
Comfortable, clean, well equipped, just a few minutes from a really nice pub and bang on the South West Coast Path.
Whatâs not to like?
We spent a lovely 2 weeks in late September here. Itâs a short walk to the beach, coastal walks, two cafes and a good pub (where we ate twice). Bude has supermarkets about 20 minutes away and the local scenery is stunning. Pen Cliff is comfortable and cosy with a good TV and Wi-Fi too. Parking is across the road so it was not possible to charge our hybrid car, but this was not a problem particularly, just something to note as electric vehicles become more common perhaps. Owners were helpful and communication was easy. All in all, a lovely stay and at a reasonable price for Cornwall.
Pros: The little outside area with the chairs, and table is adorable, and the view is absolutely stunning. The living room and kitchen were nice and had everything we could possibly need.
Cons: The beds were very hard and uncomfortable. The bathroom was fine, but didn't come with TOWELS, you had to rent them, of course for an additional cost! Which I think is just about the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. We didn't rent any, we BOTH just used the crispy hand towel that was left there. Not a pleasant experience.
Das kleine HĂ€uschen bietet alles, was man fĂŒr eine Ferienwoche braucht. Wunderbar der Blick und der direkte Zugang zum Strand sowie zum KĂŒstenwanderweg :)
We spent a week at Pen Cliff in mid June and had a fantastic time. The property is beautifully located with tremendous views, very private, not overlooked and is very well equipped. Difficult to see how the experience could be improved on, would definitely stay again.
A special hideaway, super cozy, away from the crowds, great views, walks, beach and pub. Close to fabulous Widemouth Bay and Bude. We had an excellent time. Recommended.
We had a lovely short break in February when the weather was actually somewhat stormy but as the cottage looks out to the sea that was fine. Got lucky with breaks in the weather that allowed us to venture out on daily walks. The kitchen is well outfitted and we prepared several meals there which helped to keep the costs down. Would highly recommend for a family of four.
Wonderful holiday spent in this superb cabin on the hillside. Views were amazing with the most beautiful sunsets to watch. Amazingly equipped kitchen, very comfortable bed, superb shower, and at such a reasonable price. I loved it and really want to go back.
Nice clean comfortable and peaceful place from paradise!!!
We been for a long weekend, it wasn't enough the owners are very friendly and cooperational.
Small house but equipped with all necessary things! We will visit it again.
Where to begin: there were no negatives one could cite about the stay mum and I enjoyed at Pen Cliff. For a Mothering Sunday treat, the weather was pleasant and having the chalet as a retreat was a bonus. Admittedly, aside from exploring the nearby eateries and the seascapes with my trusty Nikon, much of our time was spent sipping Lavazza coffee whilst looking out towards the patio and the many robins who'd visit the garden.
The bottom line is the chalet had the effect of making us not want to leave. It's invitingly seductive in its simplicity: a well equipped kitchen that's a pleasure to cook in; SUPER comfy beds (including the bunk bed where I ventured to slumberland from); a wet room where I languished till I was crinkly because of it's utterly heavenly first thing. And last but not least, the owners - very accommodating and welcoming. Rachel popped by on our departure day and was chatty and friendly. Our one regret was not staying longer, but we'll be revisiting again later this year.
A sublimely delightful gem with everything you could wish for in a getaway.
My husband and I had a wonderful holiday. The cottage is fantastic, with lovely views of the sea as well as being clean and decorated to a high standard. To be so close to the beach is great and ideal for families and those enjoying walks along the coastal paths.
The opportunity of having your own garden is also welcome as it allows you another place to relax and unwind. The sun sets straight ahead so you benefit from being able to sit on the patio and enjoy the last few hours of sun. The wild birds are always around, ready to eat any crumbs left over from any barbecues or lunches.
Crackington Haven is a lovely village that caters for everyone. The pub and two cafes offer simple but well cooked food which suits most tastes.
