Overall, our experience was disappointing. In the middle of the Tuscan summer, we found it almost impossible to sleep because of the extreme heat in the bedrooms. At check-in, we spoke with the host and asked if he could provide some form of cooling, or even rent portable air conditioning units for the two bedrooms during our five-day stay. He told us that this wasn’t possible and that the fans provided were intended for comfort. Unfortunately, the fans were simply not enough, and the bedrooms remained unbearably hot. Both bathrooms are upstairs, and one of them is particularly difficult to use. The shower, toilet, and sink are all positioned so close together that after taking a shower, the entire bathroom floor is covered with water. The house is quite outdated, and the kitchen equipment has seen much better days. The pots and pans are old and worn out, and many of the kitchen items could benefit from a thorough cleaning. When we arrived, there was barely any toilet paper, no dishwasher detergent, and no kitchen sponge. The refrigerator was also set to a very low cooling level, presumably to save energy. After a long journey, we expected at least some basic starter supplies to be provided. The pool also did not look as appealing as it does in the photos. On the positive side, the property itself is beautiful. The grounds are well maintained, the views are stunning, and we especially enjoyed the garden with its fruits on the trees. Overall not worth the price.
