tl;dr with the issues we had, I would not recommend staying. Maybe we had bad luck, but I would not risk my vacations going to a place where that can happen

The property looks as described. Frank, the manager was kind and helpful during all the stay, although unfortunately we had to see him everyday. However our stay was awful because of 3 issues. 2 relatively minor:
- The interior was clean but the exterior was not
- There were a lot of ants, specially in the kitchen so we had to buy traps to keep them under control, but they ate some of our food in the kitchen
The worst part; the house had very important and unsafe electrical issues. Me and my wife received 2 scary electric discharges from our macbook while it was connected to the outlet, and our power outlets were burned. 2 of our adapters EXPLODED, and we also saw other EXPLOSIONS of lights around the house. Lights would be dimming up and down and we could not turn on the air condition. This started happening our 2nd day and was not fixed until the day before we left.
James, the owner, sent an electrician a couple of times who couldn’t solve the problem and then another one 3 days later who did work with the electrical company to solve it. We basically had people in the house most of the vacation. He also offered us to find another place and refund only the remaining days but of course it was not a viable option for us in the middle of the vacation after 2 days waiting to fix it and with only a few days left. According to the electrician the issue is that the electrical installation in the area is really old and poorly maintained. Because it is a generic issue in the area, James did not take any accountability and directed us to make any claim to the electric company or our insurance, but did not offer any kind of compensation.
Also when I asked about taking accountability he was very rude to me and told me I already got a discount and that “If I cannot afford a place like that I shouldn’t rent it”. Not sure why he thought I cannot afford it but this didn’t seem to me like the best way to respond to someone who had such a horrible experience
Honestly, it was very disappointing. We had a hard time sleeping without AC, we had to be pending on the phone to talk to the electricians, we couldn’t use laptop or charge phones and we felt unsafe when things exploded. Even if I trusted that the issue was beyond the owners control, it was sad to see him taking no accountability for it
