Menaggio and Lake Como Week

We truly enjoyed our week in this lovely apartment. It is well equipped with a fabulous lakeview terrace that we enjoyed. From the description I expected to be closer to town and have the opportunity to walk there, however, a car was really required. Not only is it mile or better downhill to walk, there are no designated walk areas on several of the segments of the walk to town. We did have a rental car so this was not a problem for us. Would recommend taking the ferries across lake to other villages for the day. It was an easy way to travel and we loved seeing Lake Como from different perspectives.

Apartment was clean and well kept. Very nice views over Lake Como. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and planning to come back perhaps in 2020. We looked at the other apartments available in that complex and for the price this appeared to be the best option. This is a good location as a base to travel around Lake Como as it's centrally located. No problem driving down to Como or taking the car ferry across the lake to Bellagio. We most drove where we wanted to go, parked, then walked. Location of the apartmentis a bit out of town so you'll most likely need a car. Saved time over walking anyway The apartment comes with a garage which provides easy access to the apartment We had a small compact (Renault Clio) that we rented in Milan and that actually was about the right size for navigating around Lake Como. Even at that size getting in and out of the garage proved a little challenging at times as the drive up through the gate was a bit narrow. There is a supermarket in Meggagio but we decided to skip the parking issues down there an went to the Carefour supermarket on the road to Laguno instead. We had most of our meals out on the patio, dining out a couple of the nights we stayed there. There's a nice coffee machine that grounds the coffee as you make cup but you might need to clean it. The previous tenants left it full of grounds and it took me about 30 mins to clean it and get it working. The socket for the toaster kept tripping the circuit breakers bit other than that we had no issues with anything. Would have been nice to have a few more towels though. Anyway, we had a super time and hope to return some day.

Het meest opvallend is het werkelijk adembenemende uitzicht vanaf het terras. Daarna de compleetheid van het appartement. Ruim en alles voorhanden. De ontvangst door Julie was heel fijn, evenals haar bereikbaarheid en alle tips die ze gedurende het verblijf via whatsapp deelde.

Großartige Aussicht

Sehr schöne mondäne Wohnung mit herrlicher Aussicht auf den See. In der Wohnung ist alles vorhanden. Wir hatten etwas wlan Probleme. Die Straße zum Haus ist schlecht, wenden ist nur in der steilen Zufahrt zur Garage möglich. Zum See sind wir gefahren weil es zu Fuß zurück sehr steil wird.

Had a wonderful time in Menaggio. The property was nice with fantastic views! Close to golf, ferries, and town. Julie was a fantastic English speaking manager and always available to answer questions.

Die Wohnung war sehr schön und vor allem die Küche sehr gut ausgestattet. Sehr geschätzt haben wir auch, dass es eine so große Auswahl guter Bücher gab. Das machte die Wohnung ganz individuell und persönlich. Der Blick von beiden Balkonen ist traumhaft. Ein Nachteil der Wohnung war, dass sie bei der Hitze der vergangenen Wochen sehr heiß wurde. Es gab kaum eine Möglichkeit, sie etwas kühler zu bekommen. Fliegengitter würden beim Lüften in der Nacht helfen, weil so immer sehr viele Mücken herein kamen. An den ganz heißen Tagen haben wir den Pool sehr gerne zur Abkühlung genutzt. Auch hier war der Blick auf den See wunderschön. Ein Sonnenschirm wäre hier super gewesen, weil es bis in den späten Nachmittag überhaupt keinen Schatten gab. Wie schon andere geschrieben haben, ist der Weg zum Pool nicht gut für Menschen mit Gehbeeinträchtigung geeignet. Ein Auto ist in dieser Unterkunft absolut notwendig. Insgesamt haben wir unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen und kommen gerne wieder.

Traumhafte Ferienwohnung mit 2 Balkonen und einer Terrasse. Hochwertig ausgestatte Küche und Wohnzimmer. Tolle Lage mit Blick direkt auf den See und einer Garage. Der Weg bis ins Zentrum ist steil und dauert zu Fuß ca 25 min. Kann man nur weiterempfehlen.

The property was as described and met all our expectations the views to the lake from the terrace were amazing. It was well equipped with the added bonus of garage parking. The area was nice and peaceful and it was a short drive to the main town of Menaggio where parking is available. It was ideal base for visiting other places close to the lake. Excellent place for a relaxing break.

Nice week on the lake

Everything was great in this well-equipped, comfortable home with a spectacular view. Our only issue is with the listing that made it seem that the pool was in front of the unit when in fact it is above and behind the complex. To access it required a trip down one flight of stairs to exit through the garage, then up 2 flights of a stairs and a steep path. Not for the old or infirm! As mentioned by other reviewers a car is absolutely necessary as sidewalks to town are non-existent. Overall a lovely stay.

Great stay

This is a very well equipped apartment. The views overlooking Lake Como are amazing. It is a short drive into Menaggio. There are 2 very good restaurants within walking distance. The apartment was clean, nicely furnished and very comfortable for 2 adult couples. The communication was very good prior to our arrival and we were escorted to the apartment and given the tour. Aside from a couple of minor issues as previously mentioned regarding the toaster and use of elevator everything was excellent.

Well appointed property with great outlook and access to good pool

A great apartment in good location with fantastic views over the lake and access to a very good shared pool. The apartment has its own car garage, though we parked the car outside where there is plenty of space. We used the garage to store bikes, but there is room for both. About a 25 minute walk downhill into centre of Menaggio and we generally took a taxi back if out at night. Couple of restaurants near the house too - we ate in La Vecchia Magnolio twice and it was very good - best book though ! Plenty to do within easy reach of the house. Take a ferry from Menaggio to various towns around the lake, plenty of restaurant's and cafe's in Menaggio, drive over to Switzerland and Lake Lugano (only about 10 - 15km from this side of the lake). We'd highly recommend this apartment and would also highlight the professionalism and trustworthiness of the team at Italian Apartments. We dealt with Barrie. When we were booking, he responded almost immediately to any queries and he was also very contactable if required during our stay. He gave us excellent advice / idea's on things to do and he was very punctual when we arrived and left the apartment. If you are looking to stay in this area, you can book this apartment with confidence that it will be what is described and Italian Apartments are very trustworthy - the best letting team we have experienced in 10 years. Perfect getaway location

Stunning views from an amazing property

This was a luxury property that definitely lived up to the photos & description on the website. It was clean & extremely well equipped with all you could need & more! Our booking was managed very efficiently & we were met by the lovely Julie who showed us around & was available during our stay if required. The location of the property was in a quiet ,idyllic setting overlooking the lake. Sitting & dining on the spacious terraces was a delight. A car is really recommended as it's a long walk back into Menaggio! We visited Bellagio & Varenna by boat both of which are delightful with waterside cafes & restaurants. Lots of villas to enjoy with beautiful gardens and we also drove to Lake Lugano which is beautiful. Would definitely return & recommend the property....it was very difficult to leave!!

Beautiful apartment, wonderful views

The apartment was beautiful and well equipped. The views spectacular - if you are into Bond movies, you could see the peninsular where Bond shot a villain in Casino Royale from the balcony. Julie was lovely and helped with lots of information. A few good little restaurants within walking distance, but you need to search for them, we came across them by chance walking to and from Menaggio! Would recommend this apartment for a relaxing holiday. Thank you.

Beautifully appointed apartment

We had a very nice time in the apartment, which is very comfortable and beautifully furnished. The view over the Lake from the balcony is stunning. We also enjoyed exploring the attractive towns in the surrounding area, although it was rather too hot for walking! Note that the apartment is not an easy walking distance from the shops and restaurants of Menaggio. I'm sure we will be back at Lake Como in the near future.

We arrived 18 the April till 28th fantastic views of the lake and mountains .apartment was lovely all mod cons ,very spacious could easily sleep up to 6. We had a great holiday found some lovely places to sight see and enjoyed evey day even when the rain came it was still views to adore . Would definitely book again

Can not fault this apartment in any way. The apartment itself is of a very high standard with views over the lake that are exceptional. The local restaurants were within easy walking distance and were all of a good family standard. Would recommend to anybody

Wonderful apartment

We had a lovely time in Lake Como. The weather wasn't great for the first few days but we didn't let it get us down too much. The apartment more than made up for it anyway. What a lovely place with a fantastic view. With luck we will be able to re-visit before too long.
