June 2025 - Family of 5, aged 29 to 70, stayed for a week in this lovely house. As a typical mountain town house, itâs spread over 5 levels from the pool on the bottom to a little balcony on the top, so if you have knee pain or young children, you might find the stairs a problem, however, overall, it was clean and comfortable and blissfully quiet. The kitchen was well equipped and the rooms nicely furnished. Car parking is hit and miss at the closest spot which is about 100 metres away and the next available place is about 10/15 minutes walk away - you will however, be able to stop at the house to drop off and pick up your luggage. Driving through the village is not for the faint hearted but all the shops, bars and restaurants are within walking distance of the house. We, as a family of able bodied adults, recommend this house.
Really relaxing stay in the mountains. The house was really quirky which we all loved & the small pool was perfect in the height of summer. The views from the property are breathtaking. Itâs situated in a beautiful white washed town with several cafes / restaurants.
Initial issue with access but was quickly resolved by the owner ( who hadnât been aware of our booking). Esther, the local manager went out of her way to quickly clean the property so we could stay.
Overall a fantastic stay & would love to revisit
The house is amazing; huge, clean, well-equiped and the view is speechless. The owner is available to answer any questions as well as Esther who is in the village to welcome you and answer any other questions you may have. If you are looking for a quiet village, this is perfect. We did a few trails which all started iin the village. You can also find a few grocery stores. Since it was early in January, not all restaurants were open. We arrived by train and took a taxi from the train station located in El Colmera (no train station in Gaucin)). The only taxi drive, Javier, is fantastic!! We had a great time!!
We instantly fell in love with this beautiful home and the stunning village of Gaucin.
The house has everything you could possibly need, and is so incredibly spacious. We had a terrace each! My favourite part of the day was reading my book with a cup of tea, before the hubby and kids got up, on the terrace off the main lounge, looking at the stunning views. Bliss.
We opted to have the pool heated - it was just a little bit chilly for us. This was no problem for Esther, the lovely property manager who looked after us from day one. There was a problem with the pool pump not working - again, great communication with Esther and the problem was fixed the very next morning.
The house is incredibly well located, right in the middle of this stunning "white village", a few minutes' walk from all the restaurants, supermarkets and sights of Gaucin. We were lucky enough to go during their fiesta, and there was live music in the square every night. We also ventured up to the castle - a fairly easy uphill hike, but best to avoid doing in the heat of the day.
The house is old and quirky, which we loved. Probably not so good for very young children or those of reduced mobility. The stairs down to the kitchen and garden area are exceptionally steep, and I took a tumble (sober, I might add!).
We loved staying here, and really hope to come again one day. Thank you to Andrew and Sally for sharing your home with us. Highly, highly recommended.
Stayed in this beautiful authentic village house with amazing views and really great historic features. Lovely and quiet within walking distance of restaurants and food stores. We will certainly be back as was perfect. Thank you.
We had a wonderful much needed break after a crazy year in beautiful Gaucin, the property was fantastic, great terraces perfect for enjoying views, plunge pool was ace for cooling down after lazy afternoons! Gaucin stole our hearts 4 years ago, everyone is extremely friendly, great bars and restaurants and walking routes fantastic, we will definitely return to town and property
Muchos gracias

My Wife and I bought the property in 2006 after a family holiday in Andalucia where we stayed on the coast for a week and a week in a Finca on the outskirts of Gaucin. We fell in love with Gaucin and the wonderful surrounding countryside. We are English but have lived in North Berwick on the east coast of Scotland for the last 23 years. We also have holiday let properties in North Berwick and Glen Lyon, Perthshire in Scotland. I am a self employed chartered surveyor specialising in commercial property investment and development. Sally, my Wife qualified many years ago as interior designer and has a love of art, crafts and design. We have 2 grown up Sons, Ted and Tom who have loved holidaying in Gaucin over the years. We try and get out to Gaucin at least 3-4 times a year and for the rest of the time we welcome visitors to our lovely Townhouse in the centre of a gorgeous 'White Village', many of which are repeat guests.
Our lovely well appointed townhouse has everything you will require to enjoy your holiday in a gorgeous Andalucian White Village. It is also located in a quiet part of the village with plenty of on-street parking, close to the Castle and within a 5 minutes walk of all the main restaurants and tapas bars.
