La casa Carolina est située à la campagne, à 10 minutes du charmant pueblo blanco (village blanc) de Competa et ses commerces, bars et restaurants. La villa bénéficie d'un cadre paisible dérangé uniquement par les sons de la nature. Les alentours sont charmants, la vue jusqu'aux montagnes est époustouflante. Des terrasses et des jardins entourent la villa avec une piscine pour profiter au maximum du temps à l'extérieur. La cuisine espagnole est située à côté d'une pergola couverte de vigne pour savourer vos repas tout en regardant le soleil se coucher sur les collines. La villa dispose d'un grand terrain arboré d'oliviers et d'amandiers, d'un vieux figuier et d'herbes sauvages qui mènent à un petit ruisseau, l'endroit parfait pour les amoureux de la nature, car il regorge de fleurs, abeilles, papillons, oiseaux et, bien sûr, l'éternel chant des crickets. Pour varier les plaisirs, visitez les plages de la Costa del Sol, les jolis villages espagnols ou les villes de Malaga et de Grenade.

Casa Carolina is a lovely property with stunning views and great facilities. The pizza oven was great fun and the pool a treat even in December. The hosts were very helpful.The location is convenient for Competa, coastal resorts and the city of Malaga - perhaps the only slight issue is that an impression was given that there were restaurants within walking distance. This was definitely not the case. We had a lovely Christmas with sunshine and snow visible in the mountains.

Clive and Marie were very welcoming, the jam and croissants were very much appreciated following a late evening arrival. Nice place in the mountains of Competa

Nice place wirh lots of space inside and outside, great views. Nice pool with lovely scenery. The owners waited for us at Competa altough we were late in the evening. They escorted us the last miles to the house in the dark, so we didnt have to search for it. Thnx a lot.

A lovely situated villa and pool, with amazing views, with the calmness and serenity we were looking for. It is extremely well looked after, with all the facilities you need and more - using the pizza oven was fun, if hot!

Great pool and views

Great place to spend a week, really helpful owners, they even guided us to the villa which was tricky at night with all the bendy roads. So glad we opted for the heated pool, was so warm for the kids so they were in it everyday.Thanks again for sorting a new mattress for the bunk bed

Lovely villa

We had a lovely relaxing stay at the villa, it had everything we needed. The pool was lovely and warm. It was great listening to the birdsong in the bar area in the evening with a cold drink. Im sure we will be back.

BEAUTIFUL

Accommodation was perfectly adequate with plenty of utensils. Outside space and pool great with awesome views up and down the valley. A motor is essential but well worth the short drive to Competa which offers good shopping and some excellent restaurants. We hope to return!

Lovely villa in remote location

Our family spent a wonderful week at this villa. It had everything we needed and the hosts were super responsive to any questions we had. The villa was very clean and the kids spent a lot of time in the pool. The roads leading to the villa are narrow and winding but we did get used to them. The views were spectacular and the BBQ and pizza oven allowed us to have some great meals from the comfort of the villa.

Lovely villa in a stunning location

Very enjoyable stay. Villa has good amenities. These were much appreciated (especially during one of the days when there was a severe storm). Loved just sitting around savouring the scenery. Really also enjoyed reading, walking around and our meals there. Competa itself is a very attractive place with a good range of restaurants and bars but is a 10 minute winding drive away -so the villa may more suit individuals who want to get away from it all, rather than those who want to be close to an urban centre.

Perfect peaceful getaway

We wanted peace and quiet with home from home comforts (and some sun of course) - and we found everything at Casa Carolina! We quickly got used to the final access to the property over a rough track and enjoyed sunbathing by the lovely heated pool and watching the sun go down with a glass or two in one of the many viewpoints. The villa interior is cool and comfortable - we slept very well. And it’s barely a half hour’s drive to fabulous sandy beaches! Marie and Clive were perfect hosts - we’ll certainly want to return!

Peace and tranquility

Excellent property in a lovely area. The villa has everything needed for a comfortable stay, the beds are comfy, kitchen well stocked with utensils and crockery and their is aircon for the hot summer nights. It was a bit chilly in early April for us, so the log fire and pizza oven/bbq came in very useful. We paid extra for the pool to be heated and it was excellent-good sunbeds too. Thankfully we met Pedro in the village to direct us to the semi-rural location, and the route down is fine after the first time driving it. A car is an absolute must, not only to reach the villa but to see all the area has to offer. Great stay, thanks again.

Superb accommodation with stunning scenery

an absolutely fantastic place to stay, property very clean and exceptionally well kept and located in the most amazing location with views of the hills and mountains on all sides, stunning sunrises and sunsets! The property had all the amenities you would need inside and out, comfy living room, and really nice pool area, with lots of places to sit, take in the views and catch the sun. Our hosts very kindly met us to direct us to the house and although we didn’t need it, were available to answer any queries. The road to the house is a bit of an adventure, but once you’ve done it a couple of times it isn’t quite so tricky. It’s quite close to Competa with some nice shops, interesting buildings and good places to eat. The house is only about half an hour from the coast so ideal for trips down to the beach. We had an absolutely wonderful week there and can highly recommend it! Muchas gracias!

Idyllic hide away up in the mountains

From the moment we arrived we knew it would be special and memorable due to the location. Clive and Maria are amazing hosts. Extremely friendly welcoming and even went out of their way to guide us to the property despite us arriving late at night. On top of that they had very kindly got us some supplies so we would not go hungry or thirsty. This was the special touch which showed us how kind they were and the kind of lovely owners who you would want to be hosted by. Everything that could be thought of was done. The villa is spacious and perfect for a family, with everything you could possibly need. It has outdoor dining and the pool was most welcome in the sizzling heat. Everything is kept clean and spotless and it was fun to also try the pizza oven out. Cómpeta the village only 10 minutes away is delightful and well worth a visit we had live music when we went there one evening. I loved the area, even though it takes a while to get used to driving on the mountains - it was a welcome relief to be away from busy tourist areas but nice to hang out there when we wanted to. A car is a must, I’d definitely love to come back. Thank you for the most lovely stay, we were made to feel very welcome and Maria and Clive go out there way to make sure you have everything you need and more. Thanks you 3

Wonderful Villa in a wonderful location.

This is a great place to stay. The villa is located about 2kms down the hill from the town of Competa. We were greeted by the property manager who was really helpful during the stay, and who took us to the villa as it is in a remote location. The villa is clean and well equipped, The outdoor area is ideal with a smallish pool, which was perfect for our family, and plenty of area for sunbathing.The outdoor Spanish kitchen was great and we used either Pizza Oven or BBQ every night and then enjoyed the amazing views while eating at the outside dining table. If you enjoy cycling the two main routes up to Competa are great climbs. The local seaside resort of Torrox wasn't our cup of tea, but the town of Nerja which is only 4kms further is much nicer. and has better beaches. Their is also an amazing underground cave structure to visit and a truly memorable walk up the Rio Chiller, which is a 4-7 kms walk up a river. We also had a couple of days out to Malaga (40 mins away) and explored the Moorish Castle, Roman Amphitheater, Cathedral as well as the shops/beaches. All in all, this is a great place to relax, unwind and explore the local area. Only word of warning, is that some of the roads are steep and bumpy, so make sure you car has had a good service before coming.

Delightful place

We have just stayed at Casa Carolina and have had the most amazing holiday. To be met by the super friendly and helpful Pedro was a brilliant start, I don’t think we would have found the house otherwise! You absolutely need a car to be able to stay here and to explore the beautiful mountain area. The house was so comfortable and well equipped. There was nothing that we could suggest to improve and the house and all of the outside areas were really clean. The house was warm and cosy, we only lit the log burner on a couple of the more chilly evenings. The weather was really pleasant but we were super pleased that we had paid for the pool to be heated, the children spent hours in there and it really made the holiday (I heard people grumbling on the plane home that they hadn’t been able to swim in their pools as too cold!) We loved being able to cook and eat outside and the view while you do it is spectacular. The area itself is stunningly beautiful. The town of Cómpeta is lovely with plenty to explore and some nice places to eat and drink. Communication with Marie and Clive was really easy and responsive. They provided all the required information in good time and were really friendly and welcoming. Everything about this holiday exceeded expectations. We would definitely recommend for a comfortable family adventure. We would love to come back! Thankyou.

Villa au calme avec superbe vue

Superbe villa dans un endroit très calme, très reposant avec une vue magnifique. L'accès de la villa au premier abord est très surprenant mais identique aux photos du site. La piscine est très bien chaude mais pas large mais assez pour se rafraîchir par temps chaud. Attention pour les jeunes enfants car elle commence à 1m de profondeur. La wifi marche correctement. La villa à ce qu'il faut pour cuisiner, il nous a juste manqué pour nous français une cafetière électrique inexistante, dommage cela a été notre seul bémol ! Competa est un superbe village avec pleins de petits commerces où l'on trouve ce qu'il faut et la mer n'est qu'à une demi heure de route . Nous reviendrons dans cette région de l'Andalousie nous avons adoré :)

Zeer eenvoudig niet schoon huis met kleiner zwembad dan in beschrijving

Wij zouden dit nooit meer boeken! En wij zijn campings gewend dus geen luxe maar dit was echt niet de villa die we verwacht hadden. Het zwembad is kleiner dan in de advertentie staat! We hebben het nagemeten en het is 6,50mx2.50m. de oven en waterkoker waren erg vies, alles plakte. Er bleken in de woonkamer ook meerdere plekken smerig. Douche allemaal kalkaanslag. zwembad konden we 1 dag gebruiken. De dag erna lag het vol met pissebedden! De aankomst was oké alleen werd er niet door het huis gelopen maar de eigenaars waren snel weer weg. De weg er naartoe is eng. Laatste stuk geen vangrail en heel smal met afgrond naast je dus wij durfden niet weg in de avond omdat er geen verlichting is. Na 3 van de 9 dagen zijn wij weg gegaan. Meerendeel door de weg/ligging maar ook door de viezigheid. Vlak voordat wij weggingen hebben we het zwembad opgemeten omdat we twijfelden over de afmeting. Bericht naar de eigenaar gestuurd dat wij toch wel een gedeelte van de huur terug verwachten maar dit wordt geweigerd omdat we zelf hebben besloten weg te gaan en zij zeggen, omdat we aan hadden gegeven dat het kwam door de ligging/weg. Maar ook de viezigheid aangegeven in de keuken en ja, daarna pas over het zwembad geklaagd omdat we het toen pas gemeten hadden. Maar ik vind dat een beschrijving moet kloppen en dat een vergoeding wel op zijn plaats is. We hebben namelijk nu niet de verwarming voor het zwembad gebruikt en het huis kunnen zij nu gewoon weer verhuren. Daarna hebben we een app

We love Competa for it's close location to some of the bigger Costa del Sol resorts but it is an unspoilt, typical Spanish village with breathtaking scenery and clean mountain air.
