A big thank you to adrian for his guidance and kindness.
We were able to enjoy London and its splendor thanks to this wonderful home in a quiet and timeless. The arsenal is a pleasant place with its shops nearby and corners. The house is spacious and welcoming.
We came to two families and we enjoyed the space, neat decoration and terrace of this house.
We absolutely recommend this house to anyone who want to enjoy London in the quiet of Greenwich. The metro is just next to go in 20 minutes in the center of London.
We are delighted with our stay ... thank you adrian
We stayed at the Academy Hall for one week with our four children and had a wonderful time. It is ideally situated: only 5 min walk from the DLR station, even closer to the Thames clippers; near shops and restaurants of all kinds. After long walks in London with exhausted and hungry children it was very nice to do some shopping at the supermarket around the corner (open till 11pm!!!) and to dine in in such a nice setting. We all loved the cosy atmosphere of the house and the historic interest of the site and are already looking forward to going back. We'll recommend the Hall to all our family and friends
This place was awesome! We had a family of 6 and it was great. Having the washer/dryer is perfect. The kitchen is nice and well stocked. The beds are all comfortable and having 3 bathrooms is good when you have alot of girls!! We didnt take alot of picture of the house. The location was really nice and close to the tube and several good restaurants and grocery stores. Adrian is great about communication and telling you where to go and what to see.
Great location with easy access to the tube. Well stocked kitchen! We wished the living room/dining room was flip flopped with the downstairs bedroom, but we used the patio table instead. Also, I would have appreciated more towels, including having some wash clothes would have been nice. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. We were able to get into the city every day with ease.
We loved the place, small thoughtful gestures such as coffee/tea, heater on request for an older parent (we didnât need to use since there was a heat wave) and proximity to the local transportation.
Everything about this stay was wonderful. Adrian and Kelly were wonderful, they were particularly helpful in providing us with a crib and supplies for a 13 month old baby, so we did not have to bring them with us. They also allowed us to check in early which made the travel day much easier for everyone. The house was wonderful, it has a lot of stairs but the first floor bedroom and bathroom made a big difference. The location was ideal, outside the center of the city, on a quiet street with a small park and playground outside, a short walk to multiple transportation options. It was a great location for us to be able to explore London.
Location was convenient for exploring London although it is far. Uber Boat and Woolwich stations are an easy 5-6 minute walk. The park is lovely and the surrounding area is walkable. The townhome layout worked for us as we were traveling with my elderly mom and needed a ground floor bedroom. The kitchen is well equipped and we appreciated the washer and separate dryer. Things that werenât great - no WiFi for the first 4 days of our 6 night stay. Company had to come out and fix it. I had to spend 50 US to purchase mobile Internet until it was fixed. The front door lock was difficult. Coded entry is convenient but full details on how to access would have been useful - punch in the code and turn the small silver knob below the keypad hard to the right. The knob itself is difficult to grip and required me to use both hands⊠every time. The biggest issue was the beds. There are 5. And they are all AWFUL. Thin, bouncy/soft and could feel the springs. They were a âno - just noâ after one night. I reached out to the host to ask if they had any toppers and heard nothing. Our party was all adults over 50 and one 84. Out we went to find mattress toppers⊠almost 400 US later we actually were able to sleep. Will the beds still have them when you book? Who knows. We left them at the property. If there arenât toppers, God help you.To the host - for the love of all things decent - get some new beds.Upper floors are HOT - only a few small table fans were provided.
Out host was excellent. We appreciated his immediate responses. Also, great directions and recommendations. Location was phenomenal. My family and I had a memorable and enjoyable holiday!
If as I indicated with the stars almost everything is excellent, in addition Adrian is fluent in French. The place and the environment, the transport, the house and its parking space. In the house the rooms and their bedding are perfect, the kitchen, on the ground floor, is correct but the dining room living room is on the first floor, and unlike the bedrooms without any decoration except the TV. Depending on the season, the length of the stay and the desire to eat out, this house allows an excellent stay in London.
Property was great. Good location near transportation. All within walking distance. The only issue was figuring out the heat system. Hopefully there is directions going forward. We would go back again.
This worked well for our family. Each group had a floor. Close to Subway and a park (a necessity for the littles with us). Clean and adequate for our needs.
My family stayed here for in November 2024. The townhome was exactly what we needed; it's exactly as it is described. There was six of us in total and we needed 5 bedrooms. The house was within 5 minutes to both the Tube station and the pier where we took the Uber Thames Clipper into Central London.
The house was also convenient to several restaurants, we enjoyed the Dial Arch and the SALT Works. There is also a Gail's bakery and a Starbucks just outside the Tube Station.
Adrian was such a great host; he offered suggestions on where to go and where to eat. He was very responsive and communicative.
It does take time to get into Central London, so I would recommend filling your day in London and coming back to Woolwich for the evening. The townhouse is a great place to get away from the hustle of London and provided a home away from home on our trip.
This is our 4th London trip and this house has by far been the best. The Woolwich area is a fabulous blending of old and new. The developers have retained the history and built around it including the historic buildings in a forward redesign. Love that! There are so many great places to eat nearby. We not only enjoyed the restaurants but also cooked at home. The neighborhood fresh market where my husband bought fresh vegetables and fresh chicken along with some smoked turkey legs created a delicious smoky chicken and vegetable soup perfect for our fall day. The nearness to the Thames Clipper as well as 2 rail systems made traversing the city for our meetings easy as could be. Along with coming in from London City Airport. Piece of cake! The house itself had plenty of bedrooms and baths for our group of 5 with bedrooms left over. The 3 floors made it easy to spread out and not feel like we were on top of each other. As one review said, the kitchen is on the ground floor and the eating area one floor up. We worked around that with the tray provided and it was never an issue. Adrian could not have been nicer or more helpful. He was a delight to be in touch with and was always so helpful and informative about the area and the house. And London in general! I wish every host were as delightful to correspond with. Truly made us feel at home and excited about our trip. We will definitely stay here again in the future when we come with a group. It couldnât have been better!!
Everything we could have wished for. The owner gave us detailed information about the property and the area. All went like clockwork. Definitely a home from home. Thanks!!!
Spacious Townhouse with Convenient Amenities but Challenging Layout
I recently stayed at this property, and overall, it was a pleasure. The space was ample, with enough beds and bathrooms to comfortably accommodate a family of five. The standout amenities, including a washer, dryer, and dishwasher, were incredibly useful during our stay. However, the layout could improved. The kitchen is on the ground floor, while the dining area is one floor up, making it impractical and somewhat dangerous to carry meals and hot drinks upstairs. Additionally, the bathroom fan on the top floor was not functioning, causing the bathroom to stay steamy and the towels damp. Despite these issues, the property was clean and is located very near (a short 3 min walk) to the Elizabeth Train line.
We work in the high end international travel business.. based in Switzerland, but spend time travelling all over the world. My wife and I have just finished renovating a beautiful medieval chĂąteau in South West France. ChĂąteau St Paul is a bit of a project with its own church among other things.. Available now to book for seminars or weddings. We have all sorts of old artefacts. some of which find their way into the London homes others are staying put in France.
This London property has easy access to all parts of the Metropolitan area. Situated next to the Thames it has the added bonus of being near to a Thames Clipper boat pier, this service runs into Westminster and several other stops on the way.. London Bridge, Tower of London. The three train stations near-by offers access to the Underground and Overground train service.. Elizabeth Line Woolwich Station is directly opposite the pubs 300 metres from the house.. direct to Tottenham Court Road in 20 minutes, Oxford Street and Soho, next stop Bond Street and on to Heathrow Airport if you must. Excel is the first stop and then Canary Wharf. The two other stations are situated in the market square.. 400 metres away.. fantastic for shopping.. one of the few real London markets still in existence. The house is very easily accessed from any of the airports, especially London City which is 5 mins away on the DLR train. Heathrow Airport direct on the Elizabeth Line via Paddington. The areas around the house are carefully managed gardens, parks and walkways along the Thames and around the museum, with limited vehicle access, it is very quiet for London.
With the park, gardens and Thames walkway at the front and around the house.. a remarkable lack of traffic and noise, this house is a fantastic place to return to (especially on the boat) at the end of a hectic day in the City... Maybe stop at one of the three pub/restaurants..The Dial Arch, The Guard House (a little more formal) or The Tap Rooms micro brewery with lawns and trees outside in an area that doesn't allow any traffic..and sit on one of the old cannons on the lawn and have a beer. Elizabeth Line Woolwich Station is directly opposite the pubs.. direct to Tottenham Court Road in 20 minutes, Oxford Street and Soho, next stop Bond Street and on to Heathrow Airport if you must. Excel is the first stop and then Canary Wharf.
Or equally a fantastic place to wake up in.. cross the park to the Cafe Jade and get a Latte, and get a morning smile from the people you pass and the staff at the Cafe..is this really London? Near the cafe is a Tesco mini supermarket and a M&S FoodHall..
The market by the station.. a short walk.. has an amazing selection of fruit and veg.. and the High St has all of the well known English brand shops.. There are also classic East London Cafe... Eel and Pie Shops, a must try.
