Our family of four stayed for fall break and it brought us so much joy! The home was spotless when we arrived and stocked with all the amenities we needed, which made it easy to settle in and feel at home right away. The hosts were incredibly kind and checked in regularly to make sure we were comfortable, without ever being intrusive.The location was perfect for exploring new beaches and chasing sunsets every evening. Even as born-and-raised Massachusetts natives, the scenery amazed us. Our kids loved all the outdoor space. Being close to great seafood, fall foliage, and apple picking made it even better. So much goodness to choose from!Thank you for sharing such a unique property with us. We highly recommend it and hope to return!

This is a spectacular place to stay. The physical location is fantastic - great property; great views; great lighting. The home is well laid out - light, open, modern. The central kitchen and living room/dining areas are conducive to socializing with friends (we were with two other couples). The location is very convenient to visiting Gloucester and Cape Ann. The hosts are professional, efficient, organized, honest. I will stay here again when we return.

Our family of five enjoyed our Thanksgiving week at this well appointed, clean and comfortable home facing a beautiful, serene unobstructed landscape. The owners were amazing from the time we made our reservation to the day we checked out providing clear communication and a thoughtful guide on things to do and see in the area including helpful restaurant recommendations. We highly recommend this place and will definitely be back.

Great house, perfect location

I can’t say enough about how much we loved this house. Very clean, spacious, and comfortable (with lovely art, which is rare for a rental!) in a perfect location where you’re only about ten minutes from all the Gloucester beaches, as well as Essex. The property is relaxing and beautiful, if we’re ever in the area again we would definitely stay at this house again.

Fantastic house close to the beaches

We had a great week in Gloucester! The house is clean, well equipped and spacious with lots of light. Nice backyard with seating area and deck with grill. Close to multiple different beaches. Owners were attentive and responsive. Highly recommend!

Great home

We had a great stay in Gloucester. The home is beautiful and had everything we needed to enjoy family time together. The hosts were communicative and helpful. They allowed us a little extra time at check out so our daughter could have one last nap before our flight. This was extremely helpful and very much appreciated! Definitely recommend this home to others.

Everything was great! Quiet place away from the busy city. Not too far from things to do. We really enjoyed our vacation, the host is easy to contact and had great communication. We felt very welcomed in their home. The kitchen was well equipped for making meals. It felt like home away from home! The only suggestions I would have would be brighter lighting in the two extra bathrooms and maybe some extra linens/throw blankets. Other than that, it was amazing and we would love to come back!!

A nice home away from home

Grateful that we were able to rent such a nice place on short notice in a central Cape Ann location for our busy week of familial obligations, doctor appointments, and business meetings. Slept great every night, and appreciated the beautiful views during the sunny summer days … even the rainy days were enjoyable. :-) Thanks so much to the kind owners who share their family’s vacation house with others. Nice Home With Nice Views

This is a nice home with great views of the marsh. It is tucked away in a nice wooded private lot. The location is good, as you're 2 minutes from the freeway and 10 minutes from Gloucester. You do get freeway noise, but its not bad and just becomes white noise. You're also walking distance from Lobsta Land, which has good food and great views. We found all the beds to be comfortable and bathrooms spacious. The only unfortunate thing is that the cleaning crew really missed the mark. We did report this issue (in detail) to the owners and they assured us that this would be addressed!

Gorgeous Home in an Excellent Location

We were only a 10 minute drive from Wingaersheek beach, within walking distance of an excellent restaurant, and a short hop from the greater Gloucester/Rockport area. The home is beautiful with many amenities and well equipped for large families or groups. This property will be first on our list the next time we are looking for a rental in this area. Also, I cannot say enough positive things about the owners. Stellar response time to inquiries and very helpful with providing information about the area and property. They were even able to help me troubleshoot early parking on the property so I would not have to pay for beach parking for two cars on our first day into town (before our group's check-in). I cannot say enough positive things about Sam and Jen!

I thought I wanted a house on the ocean with breaking waves to celebrate our mom's 96th birthday. But looking at listings, this house fit our needs...and we are so very glad we chose it. This house is located in a quiet neighborhood, sitting up in the trees with beautiful lanscaping and a lovely view of the beautiful tidal marshes. Coffee on the deck watching the light across the marsh was a wonderful way to start the day. The home is clean, comfortable, well decorated with a well equiped kitchen. It has such easy access to the main highway, that daily excursions were a breeze. The owners are great and addressed needs before we even knew we needed them, great directions, great supply inventory, and clear departure needs. What a joy to work with. We were so happy with this rental. Highly recommending!

A Beautiful Spacious Hone

We truly love the house! It’s close to everything! But you can also hear the highway. Other than that, the views are spectacular and the house is so spacious and comfortable! We played board games to relax after the beach! Lobster land is walking distance from the house!! I would love to have more pots & pan coz I love to cook. But the beach umbrellas and chairs in the garage was a bonus to have! Sam & Jen are so wonderful & easy to talk to! Overall, we recommend this space and love to return! Gemma & Family

You were wonderful guests, and we are glad you enjoyed the touches that make this home a haven for our own family, including the games and the beach gear. No other guests have mentioned noticing the sounds of the highway, perhaps given that the property is two acres, but I guess that is the tradeoff for having a retreat that is secluded but also accessible. Thanks also for the heads up on the cookware. We enjoy preparing dinners for 10-12 and have not found anything to be lacking, but if you let us know what in particular would be helpful, we will have it in place for your return visit next summer! Immaculate, Modern Cape Ann Home

This is an immaculate, modern property tucked away near a peaceful marsh. The home was well-stocked with everything we needed for our stay. In particular, I appreciated all of the kid-friendly amenities for our 2-year old -- plastic cups and dishes, pack-and-play, adaptable potty seat, etc. The house is very near Route 128 so it's easy to drive to the beaches and scenic towns in the nearby area. It's easy to access the grocery store, drug stores, as well. The hosts' art collection makes the house stand out in a good way from the typical beach house decor you might expect. I'll add that the house is quite large and the bedrooms afford privacy if you are looking to travel with extended family or a group of friends. You can have togetherness or privacy if you wish. The hosts were attentive and while we didn't need any special assistance, they were kind enough to check in by text periodically during the course of our stay. There is a lobster joint within walking distance. We enjoyed our stay.

The place is lovely. Beautiful grounds. We enjoyed watching the tide come in. The kitchen and bathrooms were nice. Hosts were attentive. Only suggestion would be to upgrade the furnishings which were sparce and not comfortable.

Marsh beauty on Rust Island

We had a great two-week family holiday (4 adults and one busy toddler for the first week and 2 more adults the second week) at this house, which is spacious and conveniently located. Sam was a great host and easily accessible for all our questions and needs. He was very efficient solving any issues as well. The house is very well stocked and has all your bathroom and kitchen needs. We especially loved how kid- friendly it was with a great bunk bed in the room off of the living room and tons of games and toys. We loved sitting on the porch and watching the beautiful sunsets on the marsh, and enjoyed observing the active bird and wild life (a wild turkey, a small fox, and two deers were some of our neighbors) from the kitchen table. The house is right off of Rte 128 and only couple minutes from Gloucester town center, which made it very convenient to drive to the nearby Cape Ann towns - any town from Salem to Rockport, or Manchester-by-the-Sea to Essex & Ipswich was 15-20 minutes drive at most. There is plenty to do in this area (good museums and historic houses, great beaches [Crane Beach is a must], lots of antique stores [mostly in Essex], whale watching, etc.) and great seafood, including at the Lobsta Land down the street. We had a comfortable stay and cannot wait to be back!

Rust Island Retreat

We had an incredibly relaxing stay. The home was spacious and soothing. Watching the sunsets from living room & staying warm by the fireplace. Whether hiking in Ravenswood, looking for shells at Wingaersheek beach, or shopping at Rockport—you’re never more than a 10 minute drive from this beautiful location. Sam & Jen are great hosts. From the decor to the well-labeled fixtures, you can tell they’ve put a lot of thought in making a great experience for us.
