We enjoyed the house it was well stocked with everything we needed the fenced in back yard was what we needed for our fur babies. We love Folly and loved this house.
Nice location, great property to bring your pets, excellent fenced in yard. Nice front porch. We have stayed here before and loved it. Family visiting and get together for our daughters graduation.
This house is a one of the older homes at Folly Beach but also has lots of character. The old wooden flooring has been preserved well. It is a small space but adequate for a close family of 6. The main bathroom was most complimented for its shower. Everyone said it had the best water pressure & shower head for a wonderful experience after a long day at the beach. The location to the beach was very good. Only 2 blocks from the beach and an easy walk. However, there is a good bit of traffic on the street and lots of activity close by which can be noisy at times. The outdoor shower was very nice & convenient to the house. The steps leading up to the house can be tricky due to the uneven nature of the block steps. You must pay attention to where you are stepping. The back deck is a bit dated as well but the propane grill was in good shape & worked well. The fenced in backyard was perfect for our small dog. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay. Our biggest complaint would be the beach rules at Folly Beach. We have stayed on Fripp Island for many years & feel it is more family friendly and dog friendly. Not being able to take our dog to the beach from 10 am to 6 pm was very inconvenient & she was a bit traumatized the first 3 days having to stay by herself in a strange place for so many hours. That will likely be a reason we would not return in the future. We are firm believers in taking care of our SC beaches but there are ways to preserve them without such strict rules.
Our family of five with 3 kids in early 20's had a great stay at Oystercatcher. The house was clean, lots of towels, kitchen essentials and beach chairs. The location was great, walkable to the beach and Center st, with all the restaurants, close to Bert's market and our favorite spot, Chico Feo. Would highly recommend Oystercatcher and would love to come back someday!
Our stay here was awesome!
House was comfortable and cozy. Convenient to the beach and the main attractions. Very quiet at night!
We rented the golf cart which was great to get over to the rest of the family who were staying nearby.
We wish we could have stayed for an additional week!
Location was perfect for walking to the beach and the restaurants and bars in Folley! There were beach towels and chairs which made things really easy. The house was clean and had everything we needed (dishes for cooking, towels, sheets and even shampoo and conditioners). Highly recommend!!
Thank you so much for the opportunity to bring together family! It was the perfect location and a perfect house! we had a fabulous stay and it it was an easy walk to everything we needed. The house was clean and had everything we needed. Thanks again!
This adorable beach cottage is perfectly located within walking distance to beach, downtown eateries and shops and only a 20-minute drive to Charleston. Parking was conveniently located right in front of the house, beds were comfy, shower pressure in the master bath was amazing, and the whole cottage provided enough comfy spaces to relax and unwind for our whole party. Overall, just a warm and convenient property. Enjoyed our stay very much!
Oystercatcher was not the beach house I expected it to be. The photos online have been manipulated to make the rooms looker larger, brighter, and aesthetically pleasing. Pictures are elongated. As a point of reference the TV is probably 40", and not much larger as shown. Upon check-in I was surprised to find out I had to clean out the dishwasher from the last guests. The living room sofa and loveseat should be cleaned, and the recliner must be from the "Frasier" TV show the Dad sat in. The wicker chair has cushions with no padding, and hard enough to crack your buns. Kitchen is quaint, and has adequate pots, dishes, utensils, etc. The outdoor grill was extremely dirty, and had a lot of grease buildup. Bathrooms have been updated, but could use more of the white towels for all the guests. The 3 bedrooms are a good size with older furniture. Bed linens in third bedroom may need updating. Please be very careful of the front outdoor stairs for older adults and young children. Bricks are not evenly spaced and not level with no nighttime lights on pathway. The front porch is very large, and provides lots of room for families. Furniture is showing wear and tear, but still a place to sit and relax. Location of house if pretty decent as you are about 3-4 blocks from the main street.
Awesome stay and wonderful location. Can walk to town and beach, 2 blocks! Lovely accommodation! Has everything you need! Perfect if bringing pets, great fenced back yard and back deck! Lovely front porch. We will be back. Thank you!
This place was fantastic! Super cute and quaint. It was a great vibe at the place, loved the antique feel of it. Itâs a great place for a family. Loved the outdoor shower spot and the laundry room space. Everything was there for what we needed. Thank you so much! We absolutely enjoyed our stay and would come again!
Perfect place to stay on the island! Plenty of room for a family with 3 teenagers. Spent evenings enjoying the screened front porch (a necessity at the beach), and loved the spacious back yard. Plenty of off street parking.
***Please ask us about renting the golf cart for a fun way to get around the island. Please note the golf cart is not included in the rental and is additional fee. The golf cart is also based on availability and is first come first serve.
