Nous sommes ravis de partager avec vous nos choses préférées à propos de cette partie incroyablement belle de Western NC avec vous. Nous aimons regarder le lever du soleil depuis le pont, faire de la randonnée sur les sentiers voisins de Bartram et des Appalaches, sauter de la falaise à notre trou de baignade secret, faire du rafting sur la rivière Nantahala, pêcher à la mouche dans les ruisseaux et les rivières locales, faire du jet ski sur le lac, conduire la pittoresque Cherahola Skyway & Deal's Gap (Tail of the Dragon), et en regardant un auvent étoilé tout en faisant griller des guimauves autour du foyer.

Construit en 2018, cette petite cabane confortable a toutes les commodités dont vous avez besoin pour des vacances. Après avoir parcouru le sentier des Appalaches, plongé dans une falaise à notre trou de baignade secret, fait du rafting ou pêché à la mouche sur la rivière Nantahala, vous vous reposerez dans LE matelas en mousse à mémoire le plus confortable dans les montagnes. Le loft accueille deux esprits aventuriers pour reposer leurs petites têtes. En plus d'une cabine moderne entièrement approvisionnée, vous aurez accès à plusieurs hectares de pelouse plate et entretenue entourée de montagnes et à un ruisseau de montagne apaisant pour plonger vos orteils. En 2017, cette région a profité d'une vue unique sur l'éclipse solaire dans le «Chemin de la totalité». Nous avons construit un magnifique foyer en pierre pour cuisiner des s'mores tout en contemplant le ciel nocturne incroyable, plein d'étoiles!

Nous vous encourageons à partir en randonnée et à explorer la région. Nous vous fournirons un guide des meilleurs restaurants locaux, des sentiers locaux et des opportunités de photos dignes d'Instagram - pour inclure la marina de Lakes End - notre endroit préféré pour louer des bateaux / jet skis / canoës, etc.

Si vous avez un 4x4 et préférez une vue sur la montagne plutôt que cette liste paisible au bord du ruisseau, ou si vous avez des amis qui veulent vous rejoindre dans vos aventures, mais ne veulent pas nécessairement partager l'espace avec eux, recherchez notre autre cabine au sommet de la montagne - SMAWLIE - également disponible sur VRBO.

Nous avons un magnifique nouveau parking juste à côté de la cabine pour un chargement et un déchargement aisés de l'épicerie et des bagages.

The world renowned "Tail of the Dragon" near the area features 318 curves in 11 miles. The road into our little valley is even better than that!!! It's terrible for those that get motion sick in the back seat - but for those that love the feel of G forces on their internals - there's a theme park type of adventure every time you come and go from the cabins.

A magical setting!

This property is enchanted! Imagine pulling up through an entrance of wild flowers, and then seeing this gorgeous green property with a stream around the perimeter! Just beautiful! The cabin, itself, is just the right size to be comfortable and cozy. VERY clean and had everything we needed. A magical stay, indeed!

Peaceful Mountain Getaway

We stayed at Frank’s Landing for the Miatas at the Gap event. Loved the peace and quiet of this tranquil setting. The cabin was spotless and had everything we needed to prepare meals. We enjoyed the new hot tub and fire pit under the stars. No wifi or cell so we took advantage to disconnect completely. The owners Mike and Mary are creating an amazing retreat with several properties on the land. They’ve created something very special!!

Technology free time

This place is great. We had a blast sitting around the camp fire and going to the swimming hole. Especially the secret one we had to find on our own!! My son’s favorite part of the cabin was the salt gun. He was walking around the whole time taking aim at the bugs. I found great solitude wading around the creek by the cabin making waterfalls with the rocks for a babling brook sound. Overall it was very relaxing. Looking forward to renting again and having family join and rent the additional cabins on the property!!

Wonderful mountain experience!!

Like many people, we were nervous about no cell phone or Wi-Fi but trust me when I say it doesn’t matter! This property is so beautiful. The cabin is better than expected, it was so clean and well thought out. The linens, bedding, mattress and pillows were such high quality and so comfortable (hotel quality!). There were plenty of extra towels and linens which was so nice. We went to the grocery store in town before heading up to the cabin and once arrived found many before us graciously left some spices, sugar, coffee filters etc. The owners had a great binder of activity suggestions, directions etc. There were a ton of dvds to choose from, some books, magainzes and games. We did not get bored! The trails on the property are very nice. One is steep and challenging but was fun to explore! Franks Landing was the perfect unplug retreat for us! -Mary & Brian

Frank's Landing provides a wonderful oasis experience for our guests "landing" in the mountains. With the ability to drive right up to the front door, the activities can be enjoyed by those without a 4x4 vehicle who might not appreciate having to hike the driveway as might be required at two of our other cabins. We appreciate the kind words and recognition of the interior. We have gone to great lengths to procure quality materials and linens (Thank my wife Mary for that). We're looking forward to your return this fall to enjoy the vibrant colors of the leaves.

Fantastic secluded cabin

I wasn't sure if the cabin would be too small - it was hard to tell from the pics. But it was PERFECT for the two of us. The pictures made it seem like the only beds were the loft upstairs but there is a nice master bedroom with a big bed on the main level. We felt very comfortable and didn't want for additional space. The cabin is very remote, yet the entire route to the cabin is on paved road except for the very short (100 yards or so) graven driveway which is in excellent condition (even after heavy rain). The cabin was very clean, and it was extremely quiet. A very cute and friendly dog came by and kept us company while we grilled our dinner on the amazing front covered deck. Kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed. A working microwave, full size fridge, freezer, dishwasher, and washer/dryer ensured we had everything required to enjoy our stay. Owner was very friendly and communicative. I would 100% stay here again. Love the driving in the area! So much to see and do.

Peaceful Bliss

My husband and I needed a weekend to unplug and have some much needed time together. I booked this cabin for a surprise fishing trip/getaway. The experience at Frank's Landing was awesome. The cabin is so peaceful. It is everything that is described in the listing and more. You can "read" the description of the property, but you have to experience it to "feel" it. We loved putting our hammock up by the creek and napping there. We both have busy jobs that require a good deal of communication on the phone. The lack of wifi and phone signal was just what we needed to reconnect and get back to the simple life before electronics took over! The property provided a good place to park our pontoon. We were just a short drive to the lake so we enjoyed being on the water daily. The Lakes End Restaurant is awesome as well. The all you can eat catfish on Friday night is a must if you like seafood. In addition to all this. We got some much needed rest. Needless to say, we will be back!! Thank you to the Henrie family for sharing their little piece of serenity with us. It was a blessing.

A pleasant surprise!

I had booked a cabin for The week after Christmas and for Newyears in Gatlinburg TN. The property owner messaged me 2 days before we were to leave that there was a problem and it had to be canceled. I was then scrambling to find a cabin in the mountains for my girlfriend and her 7 year old son and me.. I came across this as there was very little available. We got there and it was beautiful as we pulled up. Just as we wanted in the mountains. I was unloading the car and she comes out screaming there's no wifi.!! Lol. It was priceless the look on thier face. I must have over looked that part! We had no phone service, no tablets to get on, fb,social media, or cable/ Satelite.. We spent 4 nights totally off the grid as we called it. We had the best time! It was a blessing. My son never asked for his tablet, I couldn't check my work emails, or have any customers calling me. It was awesome! We built fires , made stores, looked at the beautiful stars, hiked and spent real time with each other. No worries, no deadlines to worry about. I suggest everyone do this with their family. My 7 year old said he liked it better than going to the beach. It was a pleasant surprise and we will definitely be back. Thank you for that experience !

Perfect Peace!

This was our 2nd time staying at Frank's Landing and we were just as pleased as the first! It is the perfect place to disconnect from all the distractions and get away for some peace and quiet. I especially appreciate all the communication from the owner. He is very helpful and personable. Lake's End Restaurant is a short drive away and is the best!! My husband loves the catfish, and the ribs are awesome as well! We will be back!

Watching the sunrise over the misty Smokey Mountains, then going hiking on the Bartram & Appalachian Trails, white water rafting the Nantahala River, jet skiing on Nantahala Lake, fly fishing and Rope Swings, cliff jumping at our secret swimming hole, and then returning to a nice grilled dinner & roasting marshmallows over the fire pit, gazing at the beauty of a stary night sky...these are the kind of things we and our guests enjoy. But, it's hard to do all of that in just one trip, so we're looking forward to hosting you again....soon! The Mini split HVAC system is one of the most efficient and quiet heating and air conditioning units on the market. We love it! So much quieter than our home unit in VA. But it is mounted on the back of the cabin under the bedroom window. As the first guest in over 5 years to have concerns about it, we appreciate you mentioning it to us. We'll reach out to a contractor to see what it would take to change its location. Glad the rest of your experience at the cabin was amazing!

Really nice! Perfect size for small family and plenty to do in the surrounding area. We enjoyed hiking and spent a couple hours on the lake. Host was very good about providing local places to check out and we very much appreciated that!

Basking in the misty morning sunrise over the Smoky Mountains, going hiking on the Bartram and Appalachian Trails, as well discovering our own trails and back roads, going white water rafting and fly fishing the Nantahala River, boating on the Nantahala Lake, cliff jumping at our secret water hole, and then returning to a nice grilled dinner and roasting marshmallows over the fire pit, and gazing at the beauty of a brilliant star filled sky while soaking in the hot tub...these are the kinds of things we and our guests enjoy. But, it's hard to do all of that in just one stay, so we're looking forward to hosting you again....soon!

Remote in the best way

As described, a clean cute little cabin back in the mountains. Lack of cell phone signal and internet was a great way to disconnect for a while. Lots of privacy and well mowed yard. The cabin we stayed at was easily accessible in our Mustang as well.

Peaceful getaway 🙂

Enjoyed being unplugged and exploring the area. There are so many things to do nearby - hiking, rafting, boating, etc…

Frank's is a wonderful "getaway". That's a great description. With a creek running through the property it's so easy to get lost in the soothing sound and sit back on the deck enjoying the clouds rolling by over the misty Smoky Mountains.

Wonderful place

Mountain Cabin

The mountain setting for this cabin is wonderful. Getting there was no problem. No steep climbs, etc. Very peaceful because you have no internet or phone service; however we just drove to Andrews or any other destination and had service. A hot tub arrived just before our stay, so we were the first to enjoy it.

Don't you just LOVE the new hot tub? It's so relaxing to soak in the tub while watching the stars come out at night and paint the sky with sparkles that reflect in the tub.

Clean and cute

Needed lodging for a wedding. Good location halfway between Andrews and venue Important note. Place well suited for a couple traveling. As we were two college friends, the low ceiling in the loft was a bit challenging for an adult! Made for some good laughter

Our little Frank's Landing log cabin has the most adorable sleeping loft - for kids. I've slept up there a few times, and while it's fun, it is meant for kids who handle 3 ft ceilings better. Still - I'm glad you were able to enjoy the adventure!

Peaceful!!

Peaceful and pleasant stay away from tv and WiFi. That part was hard but ended up being a blessing. Took walks, sat out by the fire pit, had lunch at Lakes End Marina. We did go to Murphy and eat at the Bistro. Fantastic food! Makes you really appreciate what you have. We looked forward each night to a dvd movie. Thanks for sharing your quaint and beautiful cabin.

As a child I would come to this property on extended family reunions. My mother was raised on the property when there was no running water or electricity. Enchanted by the stories of her childhood, my father he loved visiting her family and hiking the mountain trails with my Uncles. When my Grandfather passed away in the 1989 my family inherited a parcel of the property that had been in our family since the 1830's. I embraced my father's vision of developing and building on our 'family' land in North Carolina and shared that vision with my wife when we first got married. Even as we were finishing our degrees at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah we began saving. In 2003 I joined the Air Force and was stationed at Warner Robins, GA. We practically raised our boys on the weekends hiking up and down the mountains trying to find the right spot for our own cabin. In 2005 my Uncle Frank granted us 4.88 acres of his inheritance and we eventually built the cabin you see here. In 2007 we were transferred to Alaska. After 6 heavenly years there we received orders, and in 2013 made the epic 45 day journey from Alaska to Virginia - via 17 National Parks, to our current duty station at Langley AFB, VA. In January 2017 I purchased my Uncle Frank's remaining parcel which incorporates the shed and field. Our plan is to further develop the property with more cabins.
