Mikes places is a convenient location near the slopes. It is a short walk, not ski in ski out to get to the steamboat gondola. There is a free shuttle to take you onto town which was great since parking is very limited on weekends. The place needed some work like the bunk beds having broken boards, dishwasher not wanting to stay shut, garbage disposal not working, kitchen equipment needing replacement. Would definitely stay here again however.
I've stayed at a couple of places in Steamboat and this was the best. The amenities were great, and we could walk to the main gondola.
It was clean, and the owner was very communicative. I would definitely stay here again.
Very happy with how quick and easy it was to get to the mountain. Free shuttle was great. Also took advantage of the garage, heated pool, and hot tubs. Was very happy with the rooms as well, clean and cozy.
We enjoyed our time at the condo. Location was great and appreciated how easily you could walk to the slopes. The property was the perfect size for our group and we enjoyed using the hot tub. If you visit Steamboat consider booking at the Phoenix, unit 127. You wonât regret it.
The location and property is very nice. Just as close as the walk to the shuttle stop - even closer if you peel off and ski toward the street as you approach the base. After the slopes, we hit the pool and Juccuzzi every day. Bathrooms (3) seemed to have been remodeled recently. Will stay ther again if available.
Property has updated 3 full bathrooms, nice deck and lower level walkout onto interior green space and convenient to the pool. Kitchen well supplied and selection of spices. Owner Mike was very helpful and accommodating. Desk staff was also very helpful. Has on site sauna, hot tub , pool, workout facilities, gathering area and office space to work in. Would stay there again.
We had a lovely time. I hadn't realized the parking permits would be so limited-- we had three cars, and so had to park one off the property. Only two mild criticisms--the washing machine leaks onto the carpet, which should be fixed, and the non-stick pans are all scratched up, which is not super safe. But it couldn't be closer to the resort-- we were mountain biking and loved that we could just ride our bikes straight to the park.
We stayed here for spring break. The location is very close to the lifts -- you can walk there. There are also some restaurants within walking distance. The condo was spacious. My family of 5 slept comfortably. We parked in the attached garage and stored our ski gear there. You can also park in the outside covered spaces. The appliances are a bit old and the toaster didn't work on one side. But all in all it was a great place.
Very clean and comfortable place within walking distance to restaurants and base area.
Only downside was the after hours check in process. You have to call security guard to drive to you and deliver the key. And the front desk had my reservation under the wrong name. After flying to Denver and driving to SB, we arrived around 10 pm, and it took about 30 minutes to get the key.
The security guard was very friendly, but the process could use some improvement.
This property is very close to everything. But make no mistake it is a dump. The carpet is frayed; the kitchen is a mess; single serve coffee maker and toaster are broken; there is too much over sized thrift store furniture; the sliding door to the outside does not lock; the base board heaters in the master bath is falling apart. But if convenient walking distance to the gondola is your primary goal -this is your place.
The location is perfect walking distance to the gondola. Our family was visiting with the kids and there is a heated pool and 2 hot tubs that are easy access from the master bedrooom. It was easy Checkin and checkout. No issues getting several keys for each family member. The shuttle picks up at the front door and will take you wherever. We went downtown and when we were ready called the shuttle and they picked up in 15min and dropped off at the front door. We will definitely stay again!!!
Great location but the entire place needs a thorough cleaning and freshening. All of the light bulbs in one bathroom were burnt outâŠ.made us think they hadnât cleaned it as it was pitch black. Overall the condo felt dingy
I stayed here with a group of friends, and the area was perfect for what we were after. A short, but icy, walk to the resort made it easy for us to ski and come back at different times. Parking was an issue, so it was nice having the heated garage. It's very narrow, so watch your mirrors pulling in/out. The living area is very comfy and entire unit clean. The in unit dryer was nice for drying out some of our wet ski stuff/swimsuits. No major issues, just some minor things such as burnt out lightbulbs, electrical outlets that don't actually hold the plugs in, and the fridge was cool, not cold, and we couldn't get it to go any colder. We spent a couple hours each day at the hot tub. There are 2 and both were full most of the time. Great way to meet new people from all over the United States. The fitness center had everything you'd need for a solid workout. I'd also take advantage of the free shuttle. There are plenty running, so we spent little time having to wait for a ride. This was our first visit to Steamboat, and we were very happy with our choice of stay. Would love to be back.
Great communication with the owners. Really appreciated the property being proactive with our late check-in, and the owners working with us to check out late because of some special circumstances. The pool and hot tub were a highlight- kids enjoyed both with a roll in the snow in between. We were impressed they changed the water in the hot tubs daily- it was very clean. The sauna and community facilities were lovely too. The towels available were awesome so we didn't need to bring ours from the unit. We did walk to the hill one day to ski but really appreciated the regular friendly shuttles that made it a lot easier. The unit itself is definitely a throw-back. I found it was accurately described. They keep it very clean and it had everything we needed. I read a review that said the heat wasn't great in the lower level (the bunk room heater didn't seem to turn on- we managed with socks and an extra blanket just fine in March/April once the rest of the unit heated up.) My mother was in the master- it wasn't as cold- she loved it being cool. We certainly slept like rocks. To clarify other reviews- there was a Keurig and a drip-coffee maker and they worked great. They could use some more kitchen gear- but once again we were happy as clams and made due. The price more than made up for any slight inconveniences. We had a great time and were super grateful for the last minute booking.
My wife, 30-year-old son and I came to Steamboat Springs for him to run the 100 mile run rabbit run ultra marathon. This condo was perfect. The kitchen was well equipped, and the pool and hot tub were just outside the back door which we enjoyed during our stay.
Best of all it was a five minute walk to the start and finish line of the race.
racerstart line and finish line of the race
This was an nice unit for a family, with plenty of space, within a reasonable walking distance to the gondola. A nice feature is that a Vacasa shuttle routinely ran through the complex, and would take you anywhere, including to/from dinner at night, so long as you called them about 15 minutes before you need a ride. Great time!
Location to the gondola is about a 5 minute walk on the shoveled footpath. Easy access to town with an on call shuttle service provided by the property.
Mike is a great host and easy to communicate with.
The unit is spacious and has everything you need to cook.
2 bedrooms with one bedroom with two bunk beds. The second bedroom is cramped but functional.
The complex has a pool and two hot tubs. Convenient for a quick soaking after long days of hiking.
Conveniently located still a bit away from noisy city center.
Overall, a nice place to stay and go around steamboat springs.

The Kitchen
Was impressed with the kitchen at The Phoenix condo. Kitchen has any appliance one may need. Also, the fridge had condoments. The cupboard above the microwave cooker, has many spices.
The garage and the covered carport is great also. Too many great things to list here. Would stay at The Phoenix again.
We have been visiting Steamboat for 20 years and love it Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. From the Rodeo in the Summer to the Champagne Powder to the Cardboard Classic, it's always a great getaway.
We were lucky enough to find this great condo in June of 2015. We love the location in the building, overlooking the peaceful courtyard and a close walk to the hot tubs and pool.
