Th apartment was very cozy and well equipped with all you need Kitchen with utensils, plates, glasses, fridge , microwave, coffee machine filters , 2 single beds, sofa &tv, Great place 2 min walk to tourist info. and national palace , Will be back again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our Sintra home. The location was perfect. We were met by Maria upon our arrival. The apartment was adorable. Maria provided a complimentary bottle of Port, which we enjoyed on our patio. There was so many amazing things to do in the area, and all within walking distance.
Lovely tile work, good mattresses, pretty well equipped, but could be so much better with a bit of TLC. Bathroom faucet sprays all over, bedroom door squeaks badly, hair dryer is on its last legs and the whole place smelled musty.
A perfect casita, just above the town square on a quiet pedestrian lane. Very well supplied with kitchen ware, towels, etc.. Tiny food shop a 15 minute walk near the train station. Hosts were very nice and just a couple of houses away.
This little place is a delight! It consists of a cute bedroom with double beds; full kitchen with small dinning table that opens up for eating; a little sitting room where we stored our luggage and a small bathroom. Gorgeous tiles everywhere! There is a little patio outside with a table and chairs and a rack for hanging laundry. The hot water is slow to heat up and we found running the kitchen tap sped up water for the bathroom. Also it was chilly but on day 2 we discovered two heaters (one moveable)that took the chill off the rooms. It is in the old town and as such no vehicles accept certified taxis and residents can enter. The streets are all cobblestones with many stairs to get down or up to enter. We had big suitcases since we stayed here at the beginning of a monthlong journey and had great difficulty coming and leaving. A lovely fellow Jerdon, (in the restaurant at the end of the lane) consented to carry our suitcases and even drive us when we left. FOR FREE! The people are just so friendly and helpful! The sites in Sintra are amazing: the Peña Palace, the Moorish Castle, the Main Square, Monserrat (a ways to go but well worth it!) - accessible by city bus or tuk-tuk and of course all the little pathways, restaurants and shops tucked away throughout( only accessible by walking) You can catch an Uber from the News Stand to get back to Lisbon.Stay here and you wonât regret it!
The apartment is on a very quiet, pedestrian only street, but it is only steps away from the Palace de Pena, restaurants, cafes, shops and a bus stop. There is a little grocery store with fruit and vegetables and a great bakery near the train station. It is a ten-minute walk to the Sintra train station, but there are waiting taxis if you donât want to walk. The apartment is very cute and the patio is delightful. The owners were very helpful. We stayed a week in Sintra, taking the train to Lisbon and the bus to Cascais. A stess-free week. Highly recommended; we were very happy with how our trip turned out.
Excellent location in the historic section of Sintra on a quiet pedestrian side street. An easy walking distance to many bakeries, restaurants, and palaces. The apartment is small but very functional, has beautiful tile details, and is clean and peaceful. I stayed here, first with my daughter and then with my sister and we all loved our stay. Hosts Maria & Burghard welcomed me on arrival, and responded quickly to questions or requests during our stay. They live close by, so was fun to get tips about the area when we happened to bump into them. I highly recommend this cute apartment as a base to explore the beautiful palaces and gardens of Sintra, and would love to stay here again.
We stayed 4 nights in this little jewel of a place. Confortable, fully equipped and right at Sintraâs downtown, it is located on a narrow pedestrian street and it is quiet and serene at night. Hosts Dulce and Burkhardt were fantastic from booking time till departure. Thank you so much for everything!
Manuel & Roberto
nice place to stay, its very quiet and close to center. parking ( for free) is not easy, almost all roads are one way.
We had no hot water and had to make it on the cooking plate, we could not take a hot shower.
The owner was not at home during our stay.
We enjoyed a lovely stay in this home in the historic area of Sintra. The home was perfect for us, with a sitting area, bedroom, kitchen and full bath. There were extra pillows, blankets, an iron, hair dryer, fully equipped kitchen, anything we could have needed. The garden views from the bedroom and the outdoor patio facing the small lane were lovely as well. Our hosts were friendly and very helpful, they certainly made our stay even more enjoyable. We look forward to returning to this magical spot!
Located right in the heart of the historic centre of Sintra this cozy little cottage could not be a better choice for a short or longer stay. We were there for four nights and were 100% impressed in every way. From our first meeting with our very helpful and friendly host, nothing could be better. The cottage was exceptionally well equipped in every respect and displayed our hostâs skilled traditional tile artistry. The little garden was a fun place to enjoy a glass of port. And we sincerely appreciated the bottle of tawny port and bottled water that awaited us in the cottage. If we were to return to Sintra this is where we would stay. Parking is a challenge in Sintra.
Dulce was so helpful and has created a lovely dwelling. It was very clean and cheery plus she even left us a bottle of port to enjoy on the patio. Only a few steps from the old town center with delightful cobblestone streets. I recommend staying in Sintra instead of a day trip because it is so lovely in the morning and evening because most of the tourists are gone. Take a hike to the moorish castle. It's mostly straight up but a wonderful walk. I would stay here again and definitely recommend it to anyone coming to Sintra.
We couldn't have been happier here and were sad to leave! The unit is really, really cute. The bedroom window looks over the private garden of the owner and we watched the clouds and moon at night. The location is a just couple of blocks off the crowded, noisy main road and somehow, despite the short distance, it is absolutely quiet. Nice patio with mid-morning sun. And it is very, very clean. Maria was friendly, helpful and just nice to talk with. The place is magical, really.
TOP Appartment, TOP friendly Host, TOP Location, Value for Money, relaxed stay
The 2 night stay was great. Spotlessly clean appartment, large rooms, fabulous view, parking behind appartment, as we arrived in the evening, we could drive into the city-center. Directly located beside national sintra palace and walking distance to Quinta de Regaleira. 5 Minutes walk to the busstop of the Hop-on-hop-off bus line 434. Restaurants and cafes just on the doorstep. We used the well equipped kitchen on our first night with some precooked food bought at the supermarket and had dinner at the indian/italian restaurant just behind the appartment, which was very delicious. I would really recommend the appartment and it is great value for money also. Host is extremely helpful. Better park car in Lisbon or Cascais and come with tram or train from there with your "overnight luggage" or let GPS search for Cafe Paris and enter late with your car. Be aware of extremely narrow roads, our audi a1 fitted only with the mirrors folded to the car!
Very delightful property in the heart of Sintra. You'll feel like a local.
This property's location is in the heart of the city center only 2 blocks from the National Palace. It has a delightful little courtyard and the bedroom looks straight out into the owners garden. It is in a quiet neighborhood. It's kitchen is well equipped, but I think eating at one of the many restaurants is preferable to figuring out where to shop for groceries. I definitely don't recommend driving, Infact I don't know where you could park. We took a taxi to the property, and it is only 2 blocks from the taxi staging area.
This tiny house is located a stone throw away from Sintra centre â everything iswithin walking distance. The house is small but itâs fully equipped for a comfortable stay. The landlady, Maria, was a very nice and cultured individual. She always responded to queries etc. quickly and gave ideas on tourist spots in Sintra. The only problem with this house is it is far from supermarkets/mini markets. All in all, we would still recommend this place for a short stay in Sintra.
Sintra is amazing! Narrow, winding, cobbled streets, lots of restaurants and unique shops. The location of the cottage was ideal. Close to the center of town on a quiet pedestrian street. The host lives a couple of doors down and was very accommodating at check in. Our flight got delayed and we did not land until midnight. We communicated numerous times during the delay and she assured us that it would not be a problem. She met us a couple of blocks from the cottage at 12:30am and once inside, showed us where everything was and wanted to know if we needed milk or anything for the morning. Inside the cottage was cozy with beautiful tile work and ample room for two. Unfortunately, the weather was cold and damp during our stay, raining for 2 weeks, so the small heaters could not compete. We were informed by numerous people that we were there for the worst Spring ever. Normally 7 days of rain in the month, and we got 13 in 14 days. Certainly not Mariaâs fault. She was concerned and kept checking in with us.
This little apartment in the center of Sintra is a joy. A wonderful location, beautiful atmosphere, quiet surroundings, I wish I could have stayed longer. Great value for location. Would definitely stay again!
This a beautiful little house in the best location. The tile in the kitchen is magnificent. We loved drinking our coffee on the front terrace. We enjoyed our stay very much!
The quiet apartment is very well located right in the middle of town but on a quiet street behind the main action. The hosts are responsive and the apartment is well equipped with everything you need. We especially enjoyed eating on the quiet patio.
This pretty little house is very close to the main square which heaves with tourists, but is entirely quiet and private itself. Maria is kind and helpful. Everything equipment-wise worked in the house. It was an enjoyable stay.
