In the center of the most interesting part of Lisbon
Great location but the handy public elevator wasnât working. Suitcase shuffling as a single was a challenge. Using the stairs each day became easier and great exercise as I toured the city. Well worth it!!
We stayed four nights and we had a great time in Lisboa. The flat is located perfectly in the Alfama district and you can walk pretty much everywhere. We enjoyed our stay. The check in process was easy and the contact with the manager was easy.
Everything was great and we loved being in Alfama district. It was a bit noisy but didn't detract from our stay. The owner provided very clear directions to find her place and was very pleasant when we met her at the outset of our stay.
We loved the easy access of the location and the calm, spacious, and simple atmosphere of the apartment. Monica was readily available to help us operate the key to the door, which was tricky and unfamiliar to us. I would definitely stay again.
Thank you Monika, we LOVED our stay at your charming home in the heart of Alfama. The location was perfect and the riverviews were beautiful. We also slept very well on your comfortable beds. We hope to return. Obrigada!
Beautiful view of the rooftops of Alfama with the river's estuary in the distance, the colors of which change during the day. Comfortable bed, reliable Wifi, and excellent neighborhood with meandering paths that take you back in time. Mini-mercados and restaurants/bars that serve as live music venues featuring Fado abound.
I absolutely loved this apartment. The location was perfect, the view was beautiful, and even though I had a little bit of trouble finding it and getting into it- once you figure it out itâs easy! I highly recommend staying at Monicaâs apartment, Itâs very clean and organized, and as mentioned the location is one of the best parts! If I come back to Alfama I would definitely book this place again! âïžâïžâïžâïžâïž
This apartment has wonderful views and is very quaint. Near a small food market, restaurants, and the metro. The landlady was very kind. Beware however, that Alfama is a pedestrian only area. Walking is the only way around, which I enjoyed, but with a suitcase is was a challenge. It was worth all those stairs. Kindly, Christine
Very comfortable updated apartment. Spacious enough for more than a few days. The old town location puts you in the middle of lots to see and do. A very walkable area with lots of history and views. Many pedestrian only roads make walking very pleasant.
Monica communicated very well using the texting within VRBO, SMS and voice. My US based phone wasnât getting my texts to her and I would call her successfully when I suspected this could be happening. The arrival directions and access instructions were great.
We enjoyed our time in the heart of alfama. This place is not for the faint of heart as there are lots of stairs regardless of the direction you come from (up or down). The elevator suggested to get there is out of order (july w2023) and, according to a local, has been for over a month. Luckily we travel lightly.
We liked the narrow alleys and fado restaurants nearby. The place is old but what else could it be in that location? Great views.
Be ready to climb about 300 steps to get to the apartment! Nice landing outside with bench for people-watching. Clean apartment with basic amenities (no paper towels or napkins). Nice host who met us at the bottom of the steps to bring us up to the apartment. Noisy municipal workers and construction workers with gas-powered tools 9 am - 6 pm.
Our stay in Lisbon was one we'll never forget! What an amazing city! And staying in the Alfama neighborhood was the cherry on top. Such lovely homes, buildings, and restaurants all around. The apartment was lovely and spacious! Nice bathroom, nice kitchen, lovely large living space, good bedroom. The view of the water and neighborhood below? Unbelievable! Just be ready for a workout because Alfama is a hilly part of town. My friend and I thankfully only had backpacks for this portion of our Europe travels. If you have luggage, make sure to take a taxi and use the lift so you only have to carry it half a flight of stairs. Monica was an excellent host and very responsive to our queries. Highly recommend her place and would definitely stay again!
Place is located right in the Alfama area of Lisbon. Not for the faint of heart for walking. The elevator in the listing was not in service during our visit, so it ywas stairs only. Place is cute for two with beautiful views to the Tagus where several cruise ships port.
The downside is if you have allergies to spores this may not be your place. It because it's near the ocean / rrover does get misty. I am an allergy sufferer and even taking my medication I still got stuffed up. My wife and I didn't have the heat on as it was beautiful and even opened all the windows we could to alleviate the issue with my allergies and it did not help.
But as stated other than my allergies the place is set in a gem of an area of Alfama
Excellent location in Alfalma with access to so many restaurants and shops (of course it is in Alfalma).
Small living room with great view of port and very airy.
Kitchen is small but adequate with needed appliances. Bed is comfortable. The place is very clean and owner is very responsive.
Overall a very good experience and highly recommend it.
