Overall a nice place to stay with great location to App state and downtown boone. It would be hard to get to in winter snowy conditions as it is pretty high up with a very steep driveway. The main bedroom is loft style and is open so important to note as there is not any curtains or shade from the full length windows. Easy check in and check out. House was pretty clean but could use a deep clean in some areas to clear out some cobwebs and we noticed several dead large black ants as a well as a few other insects in living area. It may have been sprayed recently and that is the reason? We never heard from new owner as we were told house recently sold right before our trip. However previous owner sent plenty of communication and we had no issues checking in.
My son, daughter and I stayed here for 2 nights while we toured App State for my son. This place was perfect! It's in an idyllic setting at the "Top of Boone" - literally, it didn't feel like we could get much higher. The cabin was clean, had all the amenities you'd need for stay away from home, and it was convenient to downtown Boone and campus. It's not walkable to King Street, due to the elevation and winding mountain roads, but it's still very close! Amazing view of the Blue Ridge Mountains! We saw many deer while we were there; and there's a small pond just down the way where my son caught some rainbow trout (not the pond that says no fishing, but one just down from that). This cabin has 2 great balconies overlooking the mountains. The sunrise from the top balcony is amazing! The beds were comfortable and everything was clean. Spacious kitchen and dining area if you decide to cook in; and a comfortable living room. The downstairs area was perfect for my 17 year old son, who stayed down there and had his own "suite". Five stars all around! I would stay here again for sure!!
Excellent stay, great location, convenient to Boone
This trip was a fishing trip for my 13 year old grandson and I. The house was perfect for us, great location, plenty of amenities/dishes/paper towels, very clean. Washer and dryer came in handy, fast wifi. Very pleased with this rental and would definitely stay there again.
Stayed for a long weekend with our college kids (age 18 & 20).The house was set up perfectly for us. The kids had plenty of space on the bottom floor with their own living room, full bathroom and bedroom. The kitchen was fully stocked & made cooking very easy. Plenty of space for us all in the living room with 4 seating areas. The deck and upper loft bedroom had the best sunrise views! Driveway was a little steep but we were able to access it with our non-4 wheel drive SUV. Overall, a great stay and we cannot wait for our next trip!
We had a wonderful time at this beautiful cabin. Robin gave us very clear directions. Communication with the owners was very pleasant. The view from the cabin is spectacular. The rooms are spacious and we had everything we needed during our stay. It is perfect for any age.
We so enjoyed our stay and had great views. Robin was a great host and very flexible. The place was clean and had anything we needed. Thank you for letting us stay!
Weâve stayed at Robinâs cabin the last two years for Christmas and it has been an absolute joy. The cabin is amazing, the sunrise views are unbelievableâhighly recommend!
We loved staying here! The house and views were beautiful- every room was decorated for Christmas. Robin was great about answering questions and kindly allowed us to have a late check out due to the weather. Would definitely stay here again!
This was a great spot for our girls weekend! The cabin is close to downtown Boone, so we met for lunch and then headed up the mountain for the rest of the weekend. We cozied up in the cabin for Christmas movies and catching up and it couldnât have been more perfect. It was decorated for the holidays and we loved the 3 couches for spreading out and lounging. The morning sunrise was beautiful and the beds were comfy. Robin was great with communication and we had a wonderful weekend away.
We enjoyed our stay in this log home with a beautiful view. Perfect location close to King Street and App State. The hostâs communication was prompt and responsive. Would definitely stay here again!
Our family enjoyed the time getting from the daily grind before school starts. Nice and quiet area. We enjoyed visiting grandfather mountain, Linville falls, mast general store, etc. Look forward to next trip.
The house is accurately depicted in the description. Do know you are in the mountains and it is probably best to have 4-wheel drive to get up the road. But once you arrive it is so peaceful! We ran into a couple of neighbors and everyone was very friendly. We had to cut our trip short due to a family emergency at home but hope to return soon.
It was nice and clean. Fully stocked and definitely worth the cost. Itâs near a pond that my grandkids LOVED! This cabin also had games and toys for the kids to play, which has been very rare in our experience. We took the grandkids to Tweetsie for the weekend and we all had a wonderful time.
Robin was great and so was her property!! Absolutely gorgeous home and very cozy!! Beautiful view as well!! Definitely have 4wheel drive in winter months!!
