We fell in love with Corrales back in 2000 and knew immediately this was where we wanted to build a life. This small, peaceful village offers the rare combination of open land, stunning views, and a true sense of community. Corrales has no traffic lights, no hustle, just quiet country living with the convenience of Albuquerque and Rio Rancho only minutes away.
What we enjoy most is the balance: rural desert beauty with everything a large metroplex offers just one mile away. Down the road you’ll find hiking, fine dining, bars, microbreweries, wineries, boutique shopping, massages, fishing, a public pool, a skate park, pumpkin patches, and a lively farmer’s and grower’s market. Corrales also has a charming self‑guided walking tour and the historic Old San Ysidro Church.
This is a true horse community, and it’s common to see riders along the ditch banks. Wildlife is part of daily life here! We’ve seen bunnies, squirrels, porcupines, skunks, foxes, bobcats, coyotes, badgers, countless birds, and plenty of reptiles right on our property. It’s peaceful, natural, and full of character.
We chose this neighborhood because it feels like a retreat while still being connected. It’s the perfect place to unwind, explore, and experience the best of New Mexico’s landscape, culture, and safe small‑town charm.
