Historic schoolhouse of Brooklin converted into the perfect one bedroom getaway. Located across the street from the Brooklin Rockbound Capel with a quick 20-minute drive to Blue Hill. Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor or Bangor are all with in an hour away. The original post and beam construction, with a sleeping loft, give the interior a rustic vibe offset by the playful color palette and butterfly wallpaper make it more botanical and lighthearted.
This is a great property away from the tourist areas but close enough to make short trips to the tourist areas if you want to see the sights. The hosts had some great suggestions for sights that only the locals knew of. A great stay!
We enjoyed our visit to Deer Isle and Sedgwick as part of our tour of the Maine coastline. The house is perfectly situated to enjoy quaint towns, beautiful shoreline, and fantastic food. We thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to have our own Lobster boil as well. It was a wonderful home away from home.
We loved our stay at the schoolhouse. The exposed beams and wood were beautiful. The owners really go out of their way to add little details and touches. The bed was very comfortable. The scenery was serene and very quiet. Far enough away from the town for quiet and privacy but still short or doable drives to every where we needed to go. We were provided with all the important details before arriving as to locations for grocery and gas. We loved our stay!
A Salt Lake City native, Eden is an avid reader, a mother of three children and a lover of all things Brooklin, Maine. Aside from years as a project manager for multiple construction and architectural companies, she is currently a property manager and care taker for homes all over the peninsula.
She prefers to spend her free time with a good book and a cold drink on the beach. Eden is passionate about this small town. She is committed to serving the community and its visitors.
We vacationed in Maine for 20 years before we moved here full time, so we like to think of ourselves as tourists as well as locals. We love this little spot on the coast and hope you do to.
