Villa élégante avec vue sur la Méditerranée, Gibraltar, la plage et le port de Sotogrande

Helen, I'm so sorry to hear that you are disappointed in your stay as our goal is to make every stay a fabulous one! I'm also surprised as we were in regular communication with you and your son, Sam, during your stay and you did not even mention the construction next door until after a full week of being at our home - and only when I checked in with you about maid service during your stay. At that time, your son, Sam, actually wrote to me "On 8/22/26, 2:39 PM Hi Paige, Having a lovely time thank you, it's a beautiful place. We went out Friday due to the building works happening next door and forgot about the cleaning. No need to reschedule a visit during our stay. Sorry if this has caused you any inconvenience. Kind regards Sam" I immediately investigated the building works and replied to him. Then I never heard anything back from either of you until reading this review so thought you enjoyed your stay. If I had known you were unhappy during your stay, of course we could have worked something out. I'm so sorry for any disturbance from the construction project next door, which you could see had recently started. Again, I'm sorry for any inconvenience.

We are so glad that you and your family enjoyed your stay and our home, Laura! We do recommend that guests rent a car to be able to enjoy all that the area has to offer with so many great local excursions.

We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay - and that you found our binder helpful! In addition to the house instructions, we are constantly adding cards and flyers of activities in the area as we enjoy being tourists in our own town! It would be great if guests added new activities and suggestions too!

We are so glad that you and your family enjoyed your stay, Lauren, and would love to have you back anytime!

We are so glad that you enjoyed your family holiday at our home, Bjarne! I'm surprised to hear that there was any dog hair at all at the house as there should not have been any pets for any of the several rentals this summer. I have asked the maid to let me know if they see anything and to take extra care with the cleaning. Thank you for letting me know!

We are thrilled that you and your family enjoyed your stay, our home and all that the area has to offer! So glad that El Nido could have been part of your 60th birthday celebration - Happy Birthday!

Thank you for your feedback, David. Again, we are sorry for any inconvenience. This is a first for us as you can see from the other reviews. As you know, we reached out to our cleaning team to better understand what happened and although you did not take them up on their offer, they offered to return to address all of your concerns on the first morning of your stay. This is not simply a rental property but our home 6 months of the year. We take great pride in making sure the property is spotless and goes beyond what people expect of a holiday home. We also try to respond immediately to address any issue, as you noted. Each year we invest in new special items, most recently an outdoor bed and large pergola to provide shade by the pool. Also, as you know we also purchased a new air conditioner, which was working the morning of your arrival but unfortunately, had a refrigerant leak so stopped working during your stay. Fortunately, we were able to get the installation team to come the morning after you reported an issue with the A/C. We too are disappointed that they had to come every day for 4 days before they were able to correctly diagnose and finally fix it for you. Again, we appreciate your communication during your stay, apologize for the difficulties and will make every effort to ensure that future guests have a positive holiday in our home as our previous guests.

We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay, Alice, and very much appreciate your feedback, which I have shared with our cleaners! We too were disappointed to learn that the volleyball net was destroyed by recent tenants. So sorry that your boys couldn’t use it. 😣

We are glad that you enjoyed your stay, Freya. We returned to the house after your stay and we too were disappointed that so many wine glasses had been broken this season and that there were only 7 wine glasses left! We have just replaced the wine glasses with 12 stemless non-breakable wine glasses for future guests. Thank you for letting us know that most of the first aid kit had been used. We have replaced that and bought an electric knife sharpener for guests who don't want to use the small sharpening stone provided as well. It sounds like your group would have benefited from an additional maid service during your stay. It is very important during the summer months to wash all dishes and counters quickly as ants are attracted to even the tiniest bit of alcohol, water or juice on the counters and in the sink. I will add a note to the property description for future guests that additional cleanings can be scheduled in advance upon request with direct payment to the maids if desired. There is a fire extinguisher in the front hall closet (on the middle floor) but we have added one to the first floor as well (in the closet under the stairs), since you didn't see it. I hope that you didn't need one! Lastly, I'm sorry that you experienced water bursts from the taps in the master bathroom! Although you hadn't told us about this during your stay, it happened to us when we arrived and we learned from the plumber that air had gotten into the pipes somehow. Fortunately, that now has been taken care of too! Thank you very much for the feedback on how to make our guests' stay more comfortable as we want our guests to love staying in our home as much as we do!
