A fine vacation property, thoughtfully equipped. Plenty of towels, bed linens, comforters, everything you could want for the kitchen, including a coffee grinder. Vacation books and games, good TV reception, internet was fine, toys for little ones, high chairs, beach balls, beach chairs, outside clothesline, plenty of parking. Washer and dryer in the basement. It is located about a half-mile down a single-lane dirt road, nestled in a wooded area of similar houses. We were a senior, sibling-related group of four adults, so we had room to spare in the house. We didn't make much use of the deck and yard as we were on the go around the island, enjoying the sights and tastes easily accessed by car from the property, and our city relatives are afraid of mosquitoes. But if we'd had kids with us they would have had plenty of safe space for running around freely. Easily-remedied safety details that could use attention: bedroom smoke detectors had been removed; at the top of the stairs, because the first step is unusual in design, visitors could miss it visually--an additional railing and/or tape marking that step could avert possible vacation disaster. A perfectionist would note a few details that would bring the experience to five stars: replace torn window screens, wash the windows for the best outside views, supply facecloths. But the pros far outpace the cons: altogether, a very nice, well-located vacation house.
