Our group consisted of 2 family units with 4 adults and kids ages 12, 9 and 4.
Things we loved:
The house is located in the middle of a very peaceful cult de sac. Outside traffic was practically nonexistent. There are train tracks nearby but the noise was not loud and didnât cause an issue for us. There is a walking/biking path directly behind the house which we found convenient.
The house itself has a master bedroom on the ground floor with a private tub bathroom. There is an additional half bath in the hallway. The kitchen provided adequate counter space and there was plenty of seating at the table. The dishwasher was also quiet enough to run while we stayed in and chatted. The hearth and long window seat provided plenty of seating options for us to spread out and get comfortable. There was also toys available for the younger kids to play with. In the garage there are 2 game tables, bikes and sleds. We didnât use any of these due to our schedule but it was a nice touch and would have been very enjoyable if weâd had the time. We did use the hot tub once which was in perfect working order and clean.
Things we didnât love:
The upstairs bedrooms (bunkbed room and king bedroom) were connected with a Jack n Jill style bathroom. Iâm not a fan of these in general. The bathroom contained a nice shower and toilet with separate sink units on each of the bedroom sides. The pocket door into the bunk room had latching issues and the kids had a habit of leaving the bathroom door to the king bedroom locked. There was also only one working light switch for the bathroom which was in the king bedroom sink side (there was as no light switches in the actual bathroom itself). This meant the kids had to open the bathroom door into our bedroom in order to turn on the light which was pretty disruptive due to the opening and closing of the door and the light shining onto us while trying to sleep. We opted to just leave the bathroom light on at night and keep the doors on both sides closed. The light still shinned in when we came and went but at least it was for just one side at a time. There was also a cut out shuttered window in the upstairs king bedroom that looked into the living area. This wasnât ideal when the early risers awoke but my husband still wanted to sleep in. (A rarity for him due to his job.) In general the light switches in the house were numerous and kind of confusing. It appeared like several them didnât do anything. It didnât really cause a
PROS: The house was nice, the great room is big and spacious. Big kitchen. New looking appliances. My family loved playing air hockey and foosball. SHARC passes. There is a bike trail right in the backyard that leads to the village about 1.5 miles away. Good Internet speeds.
CONS: Lots of dirty dishes in the cupboard and silverware drawer (I had to pull out and wash what we were going to use during our stay). Missing some usual supplies these houses normally have: No salt, no cookie sheet, no hand soap in the kitchen. Foosball table is missing a handle. Only one of the bedrooms has a TV.
We had a nice time. The house is a bit far from the village which was hard with little sand taking bikes there or to the pool. The house has no AC and we were not aware of that and it was 95 degrees when we got in with no fans on at all. We were able to keep it fairly cool by opening windows but it was a lot of effort and we wonât rent a place without AC again. It had lots of good bikes although we brought our own. We have a 2 year old and the crib is very small but we were able to use the spare mattress for him. Lots of dishes but no cleaning spray for counters or things like Ziplocs or Saran Wrap. The ice maker didnât work which was awful. Overall it was a fine stay but we wonât visit this house again for our annual trip.
My husband and I stayed here for our 2 Year Anniversary and everything was perfect! It had everything that we needed and more. Loved the gas fireplace and hot tub. Location was great. Comfy bed. Enjoyed star gazing through the skylight. The decor was spot on. We will definitely be back!
We stayed here with friends and had a great time! Kitchen was very well appointed, the furniture was nice and comfortable, and we utilized the bikes! The skylight over the king bed was very nice for star gazing. SHARC passes got us into the launch area to float the Deschutes. Lots of wildlife and the deer had no fear. Great long-overdue trip.
Excellent home for a comfortable Sunriver vacation. The home comes with a lot of amenities such as bikes, kid carriers (for bikes), crib, etc. We visited in the summer and really enjoyed using both the front porch and the back deck. The location is great too. Its in the Northeast corner of SR so its only 20 minutes to Bend and easy access to the highway. Also the SHARC and the mall are 10 minute bike rides away. We would stay here again.
We showed up there was no towels all the laundry was still in the dryer in the wash machine . It was 100° in the house and there was no ac!! I donât get how anyone could rent a house in the summer in Sunriver with no AC
This home is even better than advertised. The second we walked in, we felt instantly at home. Every detail is thought of- bikes and strollers in the garage, spices and cookware, even beach towels for use. It is decorated beautifully, located just a few minutes from the pool and playground and village. We will go back for sure!!
Les points faibles : Communication et exactitude de lâannonce
Location was great, but the house description didnât match reality. Sleeps 9 not 10
Stated it slept 10 but only had beds for 9. Moreover only had 7 towels and when requests were made for more, it took days (Including delivery of washcloths that were actually dirty and not clean). The lighting in the main family room/kitchen area was dim with the bulb in the center of the room burnt out. Most things you touched were barely in working order (screen door, table legs, working windows, door lock nobs seemed to be delicately balanced into place). This house could use a few weeks of some simple maintenance that would increase its potential, especially light of its great location.
This was a great property. Open floorplan so I could cook and hang with the family. The location is perfect to practice riding your bike. The sunriver biking trail is a dead end behind the house so it was not busy (again, great for young ones to practice their skills!). Easy ride to sharq or the market. The house has a burley and strollers if you have little ones. Hot tub was great after long hikes and gazing at the stars in the cool summer air. House had everything we needed in terms of kitchen, games, air hockey, fooseball, comfy couches which I napped on more than I want to admit. The outside porch swing was nice to chill on as well. I surprisingly relaxed here ( Iâm too uptight otherwise!). Would love to come back in the summer and the winter. Great location and house.
Renting was an easy process through the website. The property was at the north end and Easy to find. The house was well stocked in the kitchen and the BBQ works fine. We enjoyed our visit and would come back again.
Sunriver was beautiful. This house rental was great and very family friendly. My baby had everything he needed . The house was conveniently located.we will be back
Beautiful house with a ton of amenities just 2 miles from The Village. Very clean and plenty of space to relax after a day at the SHARC (passes included!!!) Owners were very responsive to requests and incredibly kind!
We loved this place. It was a great set up for our family with plenty of room for everone and a great open concept so we could spend time together while cooking and relaxing. The house was great for the kids with foosball and airhockey as well as kids bikes and a trailer. Our son actually rode his first pedal bike and now is riding everyday. The porches were awesome for enjoying the beautiful setting, great for morning coffee or afternoon reading in the shade or the sun. The hot tub was also a great feature. It was new, very large and clean. My wife and I enjoyed evenings after the kids went to bed listening to the birds and watching the planes come by. You are right on a bike path to take you to Fort Rock Park, the Sharc or the village and close to the north store. You are right by the railroad tracks which were at time loud in the late night or early mornings but otherwise the overall experience was tremendous.
Wow! Very impressed, well equipped. Lots of toys & books for kids. Bicycles in great shape, liked the air hockey table. Kitchen appliances very nice, jen-air dual fuel slide-in range, nice touch. Adding this home to my favorite list. Ellie was responsive, easy to work with, & did a great job!

Amazing!
The house is plenty big, has everything you could need and more! Very homey and relaxing, and the owner is just a text away with any questions or concerns. Will definitly be returning to this location on any trips to Sunriver or Bend!
We are a family of 5 living on a farm in Portland, Oregon. Both my Husband and I grew up in the small coastal town of Gold Beach, OR. We went to Oregon State and Western Oregon. We both spent time in Sunriver as kids and wanted to share all the amazing memories with our young children.
When we decided we wanted a vacation home in Sunriver we searched high and low for the perfect house. A home with a open floor plan and mountain feel. One with plenty of space for our growing family, on the bike path, and easy access to The Village and SHARC. We found it all at Whispering Timber.
For our out of area guests Sunriver is set in the foothills of the cascade mountains. We enjoy 300 days of sunshine a year making it the perfect setting for all outdoor adventures. Sunriver has 63 holes of Championship Golf, a world class spa and fabulous restaurants. The outdoor activities are endless with over 40 miles of biking trails, hiking, kayaking, white water rafting, skiing, horseback riding, and the list goes on. We love spending our free time in Central Oregon enjoying the outdoors and we canât wait to share all that it has to offer with you.
Sipping coffee on our front porch swing as you watch the deer graze in the timbers is the perfect start to your day. The mountain details through out our home and large open living space make it the most relaxing family space.
