Beach View is a modern contemporary holiday property which has undergone a complete refurbishment and occupies a superb elevated front line position on the site of the old Gwel Marten Hotel on Headland Road in Carbis Bay and just a short walk to one of the best beaches in England. The apartment boasts a fantastic private sea terrace which very few properties have and overlooks the immaculate gardens of Gwel Marten, providing glorious uninterrupted sea and beach views. There is also free Wifi internet access.
There is a large private covered parking space which is just a few seconds walk away and just a little further is the delightful Carbis Bay train station. It is just a short train ride into the centre of St Ives along the single track and the journey takes just a few minutes and follows a wonderfully scenic path along the coast. The train very popular with visitors and a great way of beating all the busy holiday traffic in St Ives.
Beach View is also located right on the doorstep of the South West Coastal Path so it is an ideal base to start your walk and is also just a few minutes walk down the hill to the golden soft sands of Carbis Bay with its calm turquoise water.
Internally the apartment is very spacious (1200 sq ft) and in the main is fully open plan with a white gloss modern kitchen with breakfast bar, formal dining area with a large table and six chairs and a luxurious lounge area with two very large three seater sofas where guests can relax and enjoy breathtaking sea views. The modern family bathroom is again very spacious and has a separate shower enclosure, twin sinks and a deep luxurious bath with additional shower. There are two large bedrooms to the rear with the master bedroom having a king size bed and the second bedroom has two single beds with an additional single bed designed with flexibility in mind. Both bedrooms have TVs.
There is also has a very useful rear terrace with seating and which is ideal for a morning coffee and a read of the papers when more shelter is required and its also provides guests with a great outdoor storage area for bikes and surfboards.
In terms of local facilities, the nearest supermarket is a Tesco which is less than 5 minutes drive away off the main A3074 road into St Ives and where there is a great Costa Coffee which also has free wifi. There are also banks, hairdressers, a chemist, newsagents and general stores all a short walk away in the centre of Carbis Bay. During the day when on the beach there is a cafe and food outlet.

The apartment is available all year round and a great escape location during the off-peak winter season when walking the South West Coastal path is particularly popular activity. During this time the apartment is available for shorter breaks including weekend and mid-week stays. The St Ives music & arts festival during September is popular as is the New Year festivities.

Perfect carbis bay stay
The property is sited within walking distance of the beach (up a steep hill). The views from the flat are arguably the best, taking in the beach, sea and St Ives from the living room through massive windows. The layout of the bedrooms is unusual but works well with the children away from the the living room. A useful space outside the front door to dry and keep wetsuits etc safely. Would definitely stay again.

October Half Term break
Stunning location (think I said wow when I first walked in)
Kids enjoyed staying there as much as us. Being close to the beach (be prepared for a a good hill climb) and also helped having Netflix for them to keep them entertained whilst we got ready for the day.
Couldn’t fault the property, just thought the 8.30am exit call was too early for us on the last day to get three young kids and packing sorted, so ended up leaving the night before. However it did mean an easier drive home with not too much traffic.
Would definitely stay again and recommend for such a lovely location and area.

Our second visit to this property and it didn’t disappoint, we are missing the stunning views again already! Lovely, clean and spacious apartment with parking in the beautiful location of Carbis bay, 2 minute walk to the station and beach areas with easy access into St Ives, would definitely recommend, thank you for another wonderful stay!

Well-located. Overpriced.
We have just spent a week in this apartment. The views from the front are fabulous and the location is very good and very near Carbis Bay train station. The kitchen is very well stocked and the sitting room is lovely. The beach is gorgeous. The walk down to the beach is relatively steep but not difficult for the average person/child.
However I do feel that the cost was high for what we got. This is a two bedroom flat with attractive views from the open plan front sitting room/kitchen but which is very much less attractive to the rear. The rear ground floor bedrooms have windows overlooking a communal courtyard with a bright lamppost in it. There were blackout blinds in one bedroom but not the other. There is a patio outside the sitting room but it is centimetres away from the patio of the neighbours on each side, so you are heavily dependent on them being considerate (which they were during our week). Also, to get to the covered parking space, you have to go up two flights of stairs and cross a road. Also the mattresses creaked very loudly every time we moved. Finally on arrival the house smelt strongly of air fresheners (we counted six in total) and the storage heaters were on - in August - it took overnight to cool down.
Overall, there are many pluses about this property, but be in no doubt that it is a commercial rental property which is part of a portfolio.

Great apartment at brilliant location
It’s a room with the best view and easy access to the beach and the train station.
Car parking space too small and check in time far too late in the day and check out of 8.30am pretty unhelpful with a family to organise and car to pack.

What a view :)
We had a lovely time staying at the apartment. The view to the beach and ocean is what makes the apartment so special.
The location is great although the walk up the hill back from the beach is a killer. Very steep hill.
A couple of things that we didn’t like were the beds as they were lumpy and hard. We didn’t sleep well in them at all so maybe the owner can invest in some better quality mattresses?
Also, the washer/dryer was temperamental to use as once the cycle finished it locked the clothes inside. We waited half hour to see if the lock would turn off but it didn’t so ended up having to contact the owner who responded promptly.
We ended up running the cycle again to get the clothes out in the end.
We also tried to dry the clothes but it ended up washing them instead so I’d say more guidance is needed for the washer/dryer usage.
Aside from those two issues we loved our stay and highly recommend to anyone wanting to visit Carbis Bay :)

Perfect in so many ways. Great location, fantastic views, clean and pristine.
Wonderful place to stay, quiet away from hussle and bussle but easy to get to many places. Nice to walk along the coastal path in to St Ives where there are many restaurants and some lovely shops. ( you can also get the train) Its a relatively short drive to places of interest, St Michaels Mount, is 20 minutes away. The Lizard , Cape Cornwall a little longer but worth it for the breath taking views and walks along the costal path. The beach at Carbis Bay was lovely perfect place for little kids.
Good supermarkets close by a Tesco that is walkable and a really good M&S with a food hall a short drive away.
The property itself was extremely clean and nicely furnished. The view from the living room window was so so beautiful I could have happily spent all day sitting reading and looking at the view but we were busy doing other things!
Would definitely book this property again.

We all loved our stay- our first impression was "wow - what a view!" - which we never tired of. Very comfortable apartment - good friendly communication on arrival and departure. Nice touch of cake and bubbles. Would thoroughly recommend. Steep walk to beach a few mins away but totally worth it. Would stay there again in an instant

The Best View Ever!
We had a lovely week in this smart and well kept apartment. There is a wonderful view of St Ives Bay you could just sit for hours! The beach at Carbis Bay is pristine with good amenities. Carbis Bay station is a couple of minutes away giving easy rail access to St Ives and Penzance. The South West Coast Path is literally two minutes away. The apartment is not good for those with accessibility issues.

We had an amazing week here, discovered deserted beaches and saw seals, all a short walk from the property. It was clean and spacious with the most stunning view. The train to St Ives was great, I think we’ll be coming back!

Ein klein wenig Rosamunde Pilcher Feeling
Wir waren schon das zweite Mal in diesem Appartement.
Es ist wunderbar!
2 Schlafzimmer, 1 Bad, 1 Wohn-Essbereich, 1 Terrasse, sauber, geräumig. hell, ruhig, - man fühlt sich rundum wohl darin !
Dazu der Blick über das Meer hin auf St. Ives, der atemberaubend schön ist.
Der Schlafbereich ist zu einem Innenhof hin ausgerichtet, somit ist es sehr ruhig in der Nacht , Die Betten sind sehr gut.
Das Appartement ist mit einem sehr geräumigen Badezimmer, das mit allem was das Herz benötigt (Wanne,Duschkabine, doppelte Waschbecken,etc.), ausgestattet.
Ebenso großartig ist die Küche. Sie ist vom Equipment her phantastisch eingerichtet. Von scharfen Messern über Spülmaschine bis hin zum Herd oder großem Kühlschrank, alles in bester Ausstattung.
Da macht es sogar Spaß im Urlaub einmal zu kochen!
Vom Wohn-Essbereich hat man diesen grandiosen Ausblick über das Meer hin nach St. Ives.
Dieser Ausblick ist morgens und abends ein Genuss.
Eine Polstergarnitur, die im Wohnbereich steht, ist bequem und komfortabel.
Unweit des Appartements gibt es einen herrlichen feinen, sauberen Sandstrand. Das Wasser ist ebenso extrem sauber und klar.
Wer einige Tage die Seele baumeln lassen möchte, ist hier richtig aufgehoben.
Lesen, Malen, Schreiben, Töpfern in der Region von Cabrio Bay wird vieles angeboten.
Auch sportlich kann man sich bestens betätigen: Surfen, Kitesurfen , Reiten, Golfplätze sind in der Umgebung,
Aber auch die Natur bietet unsagbar viele Möglichkeiten: Vögelbeobachtungen, Kegelrobben in freier Wildbahn, tolle Klippen.
Oder einfach an einem regnerischen Abend auf die Couch legen, den Ausblick und ein Glas Whisky oder Wein genießen.

Vista meravigliosa
Appartamento molto piacevole, dotato di tutti i compfort, con una vista mozzafiato sulla baia.
Vale la pena di andarci anche solo per stare seduti sul divano ad ammirare il panorama.
Posizione comodissima, puoi uscire a piedi e fare passeggiate bellissime.

Amazing views
The property is situated in an ideal location a short distance from St Ives .You can walk.down to st ives via the costal path or you can walk 5minutes down to the train station and but a ticket for one pound single journey.They are very reliable and run most nights till 10pm ish . The best thing about the apartment for me is the stunning view over looking carbis bay. It is truely magical any time of the day . The beach in carbis bay is stunning the sand is a golden brown and the sea turquoise..There is a cafe which does snacks .There is also a hotel which is pricey if you want to eat there but reasonable for drinks. However it is down a very steep hill and getting back up is challenging . The kitchen is lovely well equiped and modern .To be trueful we only ate in once but we found the kitchen had everything we needed . There is a washing.machine and dishwasher for you to use . There are two bedrooms the main bedroom is lovely and is provided with a black out blind which you do need to use as there is a lamp outside that shines through. We found the materess to be very firm but I suppose that is personal to each person. The outside space is lovely but not private would benefit from screens between each apartments .The view from the outside area is gorgeous .You can hear the sea and watch the goings on in the bay. There are lots of places to visit ..Mousehole and Fowey are worth visiting .The food choice in st ives is excellent .We found the cellar bistro, hidden kitchen,the back street bistro and the firehouse excellent . Best booking though it can get busy .Overall we had an amazing holiday and I would recommend this property.
