We had a great vacation staying at Casa Chica. It was everything that is stated in the writeup. Peaceful, quiet, clean, perfect for 2 people. The proximity to Edgartown, bike trails and other island spots is fantastic. I would definitely recommend it to friends and others who are looking for woodsy environment on a busy island.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Casa Chica cottage and meeting Suzie the owner. The cottage was very clean, homey, comfortable, and supplied with everything needed. It is centrally located and quiet. Suzie is so accommodating and nice. We loved the island for its beauty, history, diversity, and the people. Thank you for making our first trip to Marthaâs Vineyard wonderful!
My husband and I enjoyed our time in this home. We were very comfortable left early because of a pending hurricane (Lee). There are 2 things to point out. The main bedroom has a queen size bed and the 2nd bed is reached by climbing a ships style ladder. Secondly the stepping area between the gravel drive and the stairs to the house is made up of miscellaneous size natural stones that have some overgrowth. At night or in the early morning, the walkway is slippery. If you are over 65 this might be a little treacherous.
This house could not be more perfectly located between Edgartown and Oak Bluffs. 10 minutes for either, and a peaceful base to rest up and relax. Casa Chica was perfect for a couple, and everything was comfortable, clean and convenient. We will definitely seek out this house for future Marthaâs Vineyard trips.
From the first minute we first stepped out of our car upon arriving at Casa Chica, we knew we had made the perfect choice for our stay on the Vineyard. Casa Chica is extremely clean, spacious, comfortable, welcoming, and tastefully decorated. For us, it was the ideal location from which to access all points of the island. Not far from the main hubs yet private and quiet. And it was stocked with everything we might need.
Suzie was a most accommodating host and even helped us log into our streaming services on the TVs. She was very responsive and made herself available for any additional assistance or questions we may have had. We so enjoyed every day there even though the weather didn't always cooperate. Casa Chica is not just a home base from which to explore, but is a pleasant, relaxing place to spend a rainy day reading a book or catching a movie. I can't say enough about how pleased we were.
We highly recommend Casa Chica. Keep in mind, as shown in the photos, the main entrance is accessed by a set of stairs so it may not be the right fit for people with compromised mobility.
We can't wait to return next year. See you in 2025 Suzie!
This is a home on a very private property in perfect condition, with everything a couple could want for a stay on Martha's Vineyard. We loved our week here. Not having stayed in this part of Edgartown before we were pleasantly surprised to find wonderful hiking trails within easy walking distance in both directions -- it was the way we began each day before a short drive to the beach or into the town center.
Highly recommended.
We spent Labor Day Weekend on MV at Casa Chica. I was a tad reluctant at first to take a chance because the nightly price was significantly lower than comparable lodging. Also, there were no reviews which is USUALLY not a good sign. I gambled, and hit the jackpot!
Casa Chica is exactly what the pictures show and Suzie (owner) is a sweet, kind soul. Her house is on the property which proved to be convenient when I locked us out of the house! One text, and she was there in 5 minutes with an extra key and we enjoyed the opportunity to chat with her for awhile. I liked the location being in a wooded neighborhood, yet still centrally located with quick access to Edgartown or Oak Bluffs. If you choose to make Casa Chica your home for a few days I would highly recommend a vehicle as it is not downtown or in the heart of Edgartown. If you are looking for an ultra-luxurious $500+/night accommodations...this place is NOT for you. If you want the comfort of a home away from home with everything you need, for less than half that...then look no further. I can recommend Casa Chica without reservation!
Iâve lived on Marthaâs Vineyard since the late 1960âs. Married a handsome hippie from Oak Bluffs and made the place my home. I live next door to the cottage, âCasa Chicaâ, with a buffer of plantingâs, lawn and trees in between. The little house was built as a cosy place for my daughter to stay with her family. You can see that some weeks are blocked on the calendar, thatâs her!
The cottage is in a quiet, pastoral setting. The road is a dead end so thereâs not a lot of through traffic. It faces my extensive flower gardens, which make a lovely view. The outside shower is a gem! There is absolutely nothing like showering in the fresh air with the blue sky above, heaven. Bring flip flops. Weâre close to everything, Edgartown, the beaches, Sengekontacket Pond, etc etc, restaurants.
