This is the first negative review Iâve written on VRBO and we use VRBO quite often. We rented this place during New Years. Our toilet was plugged and we could not get hold of the manager by phone or email. We ended buying a plunger ourselves and unplugged the toilet and left the plunger for future guests. On the day of check in, we did not get the address and access code until almost noon after I repeatedly called and emailed. We had a 6 hour drive and not having an address made it quite difficult. The manager never returned any of my phone calls and only email back once in a while. The house itself was missing many essential items: towel hooks in the bathroom, trash can for the kitchen, cutting board, toaster, oven and dishwasher would be nice. We were lucky that our cell phone worked, but many other cell carriers donât have service at the house. No wifi and no TV.
The house seemed unfinished but then when looking closer, the wear and tear makes it seem like itâs used all the time by guests. Deadbolt on the front door doesnât work. There are no towel racks in the bathroom (plenty of space for one or two) and the kitchen was filthy. Just one old sponge which we had to use to rewash dishes. The TV wasnât working because the HDMI cable was busted. There also was no cellular signal which made not having WiFi at the place a bummer. The bed was comfy and the back porch was wonderful with a beautiful view of the mountains. I recommend this place above renting an RV because of the additional space but donât expect a palace.
Was very sad we did not get to stay at the property due to others messing it up. The owner was great about refunding us and even trying to get us into another property (everything was booked) but at least he tried to fix it. Hopefully the rental gets fixed and the owner is able to start renting it again. People need to be more respectful of the rentals. Treat it as if it is yours!!!! Dont ruin it for everyone else!!
