Terry has has very amazing home! The cabin/cottage theme fits perfectly. Having lake access for the morning stroll with coffee. Was perfect. Terry does an amazing job communicating with you both before and after the stay.
The private beach at the end of the street was i credible convenient for our two small children, having the beach all to ourselves was a dream! We drove into the downtown multiple times but enjoyed the quietness of the house!
The host was extremely responsive with any questions or needs that popped up during our stay.
This is our second year and we enjoyed their family cottage. There is a private beach that is rocky but the grandchildren loved throwing the stones in the water. The public beach is not very far if you want a sandy beach. This cottage is a perfect get away and so close to downtown of South Haven. Thank you Terry for renting your family cottage to us!
Really cute house in the woods, well stocked kitchen with everything we needed. Games for the kids, fire pit outside for roasting marshmallows. We had never been to South Haven. Loved the little town and beautiful beaches. We watched the sunset from the beach at the end of the street. We really enjoyed our stay. The only downside was that it was too short! We would love to stay here again for a longer time.
Everything about our stay was perfect! The house is so warm and inviting that you donât want to leave, but we ventured into town to visit the shops. The rain stopped us from having a fire in the evening, but Terry provided plenty of board games, and so we sipped wine and played games. One of our favorite activities was walking down to the private beach in the mornings and drinking our coffee while enjoying the beautiful view of the lake. Our whole stay could not have been any nicer.
My co-workers and I decided we wanted to do a "bookcation." We wanted a quiet house by the beach where we could relax, read, and go into town for dinner and shopping. This house was PERFECT and exactly what we wanted. I am a VRBO host myself, so I have high expectations when staying at other VRBOs and I give this location and the host 5 stars. Communication was great, house was extremely clean, it is steps from a small private beach, and the host gave us a lot of great tips for restaurants. If I am ever in South Haven in the future, I fully intend to stay here again.
House was perfect for our three families! Couples took the two bedrooms and third with adult kids took upstairs. Owner was very commutative and made sure we had everything we needed! Wifi was excellent covering 7 phones and a couple computers without any issues. A close drive to South Haven and other attractions. Driveway was a bit weird but held two cars easily. Backyard was perfect for our Corn Hole games! Kitchen spacious and had all the pots and pans needed. Used disposable plates and silverware which made clean up easy! Ice maker worked well for drink ice and bought a couple bags for our coolers. Lots of space to lounge and relax. Appreciate sharing your property with us!
Pros: Large amount of space inside house for family of 5, and large amount of outdoor yard and deck space. Outdoor shower was great after driving home from beach. Lots of towels provided. House is located on a quiet wooden street. House had two vacuums which we utilized after having meals. Games and toys in the four season room were a big hit for our family. Easy drive to South Haven. Owner very responsive to text messages.
Cons: Biggest downsides were no beach access, and no laundry, which were advertised. I was told after booking that there was no access to the beach, and during our stay that there was no laundry. The house is in a wooden area, so it did have a few ants and ant traps (thankfully my toddler did not try and grab them). The AC units could not be moved. One is located in the kitchen and one in the main living room. It is an older house, and the bathroom and kitchen walls could use fresh paint or cleaned/scrubbed. Couldnât figure out how to use VCR - instructions could be included for guests.
Overall, the space was good, and it is a short drive to town.
This charming cottage in the pines has everything a vacation home should have. Perfect location close to other fun amenities, but private at the same time. Floor plan worked perfectly for our family. Highly recommend.
We thought the place was cute and comfortable. Would have loved washer and dryer, and updated TV's, but definitely enjoyed our stay. The neighborhood was great, beautiful area and view of the lake. Beach was a bit dirty, but as always, we loved the beaches at South haven. We enjoyed the use of the fire pit and playing games and puzzles while watching your nice collection of movies. Thank you
Our family visits South Haven every summer. Pine Arbors was a perfect home for our family. We had a wonderful time, the home is on a quiet street and a quick walk to the private beach. The home has a three seasons room, which is perfect for reading and relaxing. There are also two large bedrooms and a nice loft with 7 beds. The large kitchen/dinning room and living room were perfect for our large family. We were able to enjoy the large decks in both the front and back of the house. The kids utilized the board games and large backyard.
During our visit, we were able to check out the quaint downtown area, the beaches, wine tasting, and we even had a bonfire in the backyard and on the beach. Of course, also making sure to stop at our favorite ice cream spot in South Haven, Sherman's Dairy.
An important thing to note about this property is that you definitely feel like you are staying in someone else's home. There are things like toothbrushes, pictures of their family, and tons of personal knickknacks everywhere.
It is a short drive to town and a short walk to a semi-private beach that is a bit rockier than the beaches in town.
There is no laundry, and at least for our stay we did not get enough linens, so you might want to bring some towels/washclothes just in case.
The property is large with a big loft bedroom up top. Since there is only one shower/bath, the ideal renters here would be a group of people that are trying to maximize their sleep space for the money, but arent bothered with the bathroom line.
What a wonderful place to have a family vacation. We were within walking distance of a private Lake Michigan beach. The cottage was more than adequate for the 8 of us (6 adults and 2 children). Everything we needed was provided. We cooked some dinners in the oven and others in the grill. The children loved the backyard swing and also loved sleeping in the loft with their parents. It was great to be able to put 8 people around the kitchen table and not feel crowded. The area around the house had many trees and was very quiet. We felt like we were out in the middle of the woods. It was truly a wonderful experience.
