We genuinely value all guest input — especially when it's as detailed as yours — because it helps us understand where we need to improve. You are correct, the home was originally our family’s beach house, intended as a place to create memories with loved ones, not as a commercial rental. However, In recent years, as costs have continued to rise — including nearly $17,000 per year in property taxes alone — we've been renting it out in hopes of covering some of the substantial expenses that come with maintaining an oceanfront property. You're also right in noting that the house is older, and that the beach environment has taken a toll. Salt air, humidity, storms, and constant exposure to the elements create unique challenges that aren't always obvious in photos — and they impact everything from flooring to exterior decks. That said, we never want guests to feel like their comfort or safety is being compromised. We take concerns like yours seriously and are actively saving for major repairs and improvements, many of which you've mentioned in your review. Regarding the photos, We did not have any other pictures of the bedrooms or bathrooms other that what is displayed on the website. However, I was able to send you a picture of the covered deck as requested. (If I lived closer, I would have taken the pics and sent them directly.) We do purchase the plastic chairs from Lowes as they tend to last longer on the back deck. Also, I believe we just purchased a new table, chairs, and umbrella for the ocean front deck as well. We appreciate your acknowledgment of the cleanliness and the unbeatable view and beach access — those are the qualities that made our family fall in love with this home in the first place. Still, we understand that nostalgia and location don’t make up for a lack of comfort, and we are committed to addressing that balance moving forward. Hi, Thank you for the feedback and I apologize for your experience. We have a new cleaning company and are currently reviewing the pet policy. We will most likely make some changes...In the meantime, we have either replaced or professionally cleaned the furniture. The home is directly on the ocean and requires constant maintenance due to the environment so we are always trying to update when possible.
