The house was beautiful, clean, updated and everything we were looking for in a relaxing family vacation. We enjoyed fishing, tubing, grilling and taking afternoon walks with the river as our backyard.
We had a great time staying at the cabin. It was very spacious and comfortable, it had everything we needed. Having the river right outside was amazing. We will definitely consider staying there again. The host was also very responsive when we had any questions.
The cabin is beautiful. The location by the river was perfect. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and in the River Room just watching the river. I highly recommend.
Beautiful cabin, very comfortable! Large kitchen & storage. Second refrigerator with coffee bar! Outside porch with rocking chairs looking at the river was out favorite spot!
Location is nice and quite. Only issue was when power went out twice during our stay but the area was experiencing heavy storms. Outside area with fire pit is nice and being able to float down the river from the house was really convenient. The views from the enclosed porch are great. The kitchen has nice supplies, the inside has great decor and overall we had a great stay.
We had a great stay; it was part of as graduation gift for our daughter to have friends and family meet and spend a week together. There were 7 of us in our party and the accommodation was perfect. The cabin was beautiful, the views were amazing, and the Blue Ridge community was a fun place to explore. We will definitely enjoy a return visit. Communication through the entire process with the host was seamless and helpful. Totally recommend staying here if visiting the Blue Ridge aera.
The home (not just a cabin) was spotless clean with super comfortable furniture and beautiful river-mountain decor. Sitting by the Taccoa River was so very relaxing and peaceful. The city of Blue Ridge and itâs people were very friendly and welcoming. We ate at various restaurants and all were delicious. Most of all try Harvest Restaurant on East Main. The blend of recipes ingredients were excellent.
Our family picks a different cabin in the Blue Ridge/Ellijay area for our annual family Christmas. This year we knew we wanted something on the river. This property did not disappoint! Loved sitting in the River Room with the windows cracked to hear the rain and the river flowing every day. Loved the kitchen! Very well stocked, probably one of the most stocked cabins weâve stayed in 30 years. Owner very responsive.
Beautiful area, nice place, a few things didnt work. Jetted tub, garbage disposal several lights blown out. Outlet right of sink arced when turn on switch.
Great location and comfortable home. Enjoyed a relaxing vacation watching the river go by on the back porch and in the back sitting room. Lots of space for a large family, though it was just the two of us and our dog. Cabin is located in the Aska area, close to hiking and river related activities (tubing, kayaking and fishing). Thoroughly enjoyed our time away. We had one eventful night, when a black bear visited the back garbage cans at 3 a.m. We called the owner and reported the incident. Dee handled the situation and provided us a means to place the garbage cans in a locked shed.
I wish I could take back all the five stars I've ever given and add them to this review. I can not say enough good things, but to name a few.. Dee our host was so kind, gracious, and responded promptly to all communications. She even checked on our travel plans when the possibility of bad weather was in the forcast. The cabin was absolutely top notch and absolutely beautiful. The views were even better. Everything was clean and the atmosphere was cozy. Thank you so much! The cabin really made our girl's getaway weekend perfect.
Stayed here with my husband and 2 couple friends. Cabin is spacious, clean and comfortable. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The River Room was my favorite room - comfy recliners overlooking the beautiful river. Plenty of seating inside and out. Comfy beds, clean bathrooms, and huge washer and dryer downstairs. Adorable decor. Although we didn't cook, there is a huge kitchen stocked with whatever you would need to prepare a feast, including two full sized refrigerators and a barbeque outside. Location is on a quiet and private narrow gravel road right across from the river, with plenty of seating by the river for everyone to enjoy the natural beauty of the area. We brought our dog with us and she was happy to be included. There is a fenced area for the dog that is right off the front porch that was clean and convenient. Hostess was wonderful with communication before and during out stay. Location is about 7 miles from the town with some great restaurants and activities nearby (Southern Charm, Carroll's Barbeque, Circle J, Bumblebee's, Iron Bridge General Store , tubing, and Gem Mining, Trivia at Misty Mountain Hops, and a 4 hour train ride to the GA/TN boarder. We had something to do every day, without ever feeling pressured or rushed. We loved our stay!
This is a very nice cabin, although I really wouldnât call it a cabin, itâs huge. Very well equipped and up to date. The river is very nice and a good place for kids to play and fish. The fenced in area for the dogs was great.
This was our 2nd stay, the first time 2 years ago we enjoyed the stay so much that we invited our family, the grand kids loved the river, could not keep them from enjoying the chilling experience of wading and exploring it.Tubing in the river was a big hit.The fire pit was perfect to enjoy smores and comradery of family time, everything was properly provided, our 2 grand boys wanted to camp out and they were able to do it. This is the best place to enjoy the area.
This property exceeded our expectations! It was beautiful, relaxing, super clean, and so spacious! It has everything you need, great cookware, paper towels, toilet paper, etc. Dee was wonderful, very accommodating, and responded very quickly if we had any questions. The outside property was also perfect for us and our dogs, so relaxing sitting by the river with a glass of wine or taking the dogs for a walk down the road along the river. The home was set up perfect to accommodate our larger dogs as well with gates on the deck and a fenced in area behind the house. Thereâs also so much to do within 5-20 mins from the house like river tubing, hiking to waterfalls, visiting downtown Blue Ridge and going to wineries. We named it the âEnchanted Houseâ at the end of our fantastic vacation there!
We have stayed at this beautiful riverfront home for several years, and this was another wonderful visit. Sitting on the porch and listening to the water go by, seeing deer on our walks along the quiet lane in the evening, watching the mist rise from the river in the mornings - it is instant relaxation and restores my soul. Several times we drove above the Shallowford Bridge and dropped off tubers in our group, who floated down the river and walked out right at the house - so convenient. The house is large, with room for everyone to spread out for their own quiet time, and the dining table sits 10 or more when everyone is together. Beds are comfy, the kitchen is well stocked and large enough for multiple cooks. And there is a cool pantry/bar/coffee room with a second full-size fridge and great storage. Dogs are allowed with a fee, and there is a fenced back yard. Dee has thought of everything and set up this mountain home perfectly for a great riverfront vacation!
Great place to go and relax with the family and cool off in the mountain river water also float down the river. This was are 2nd year of going and hope they will be many more.
Very well stocked home with all the necessary supplies needed for cooking or grilling out. Beautiful home with great views of the river. We didnât see any bear, however there was plenty of wildlife around. From ducks to geese and beaver's swimming the river, it wasnât surprising to see a snake. Only 3 fish were caught, but to be fair we didnât try to hard and it rained several of the days we were there.
The cabin was beautiful and the view was amazing! The cabin had absolutely everything we needed! We were not ready to leave when our stay was over ! We would love to plan another trip and stay there again.
We chose the river location because of the private and quiet river setting. You'll love hearing the sound of the river flowing into Lake Blue Ridge! The fishing, kayaking and tubing is an added benefit for kids and the adults who want to be a kid again! We hope you enjoy your stay.
Luckily, our cabin sits right on the river and is in the best location for everything Blue Ridge has to offer including downtown shopping, Lake Blue Ridge, horseback riding, waterfalls, hiking and white water rafting. We also love spending time with our friends and family and it's the perfect spot for having parties or cookouts or just tubing the river or fishing all day.
