Steve and Robin were friendly and gracious hosts. We loved Bob, Phoebe and Monica, their sweet little dogs! The bonus to the casita was the high ceilings, it felt so much bigger than the photos. The views at sunset and sunrise were spectacular!
THE BEST! Four of us stayed to attend Waste Management Golf Tournament, travel to Grand Canyon and Sedona. Pre-stayâŠthe owners answered every question within a very short time frame. The casa was beautiful
Great place to stay for 3-4 people. Very quiet and beautiful location. Easy check in and great communication throughout our stay. The last 2-3 miles of drive are unpaved but still easy to navigate. This is a great casita and I will be back. Thanks!
We really enjoyed this property. The owners are wonderful people, and our dogs enjoyed their new dog friends.
The property is located off the beaten path yet close enough to all there is to see in Scottsdale/Phoenix area. Lots of room and beautiful surroundings!
We enjoyed our stay at this casita. The location was ideal, far removed from the Phoenix/Scottsdale ratrace. The view of the Four Peaks was beautiful and the quiet and solitude was very relaxing. The casita is close to a number of excellent hiking trails in the Sonoran Desert Preserve and if you like mountain biking, horse back riding., or golfing you're in the right place.
Landlords respected our privacy, but were always available to answer any questions we might have. The scenery was spectacular, and our Great Grandson was thrilled by the horses.
May be the first time for these folks-seemed a little casual, dogs used the front lawn for pooping, the road sign as well as the road itself to the location was a challenge even for country folks like us. The semi existent street sign(for this property)is illegible, especially at night (we thought we had the wrong dirt road.) On the other hand, the location is wonderful as is the view.
The view of Four Peaks Mountain is so beautiful. We fell in love with the whole area. Very remote and away from traffic. The only downside was that it took about 30 minutes or more to get to anything in Scottsdale or Fountain Hills. The pool was too cool to use, but we enjoyed the hot tub. The lawn and area around the casita is well taken care of and manicured. The owners are a friendly couple who responded quickly to any issues we may have had, and even patched a tire that a screw had run though. They offered great ideas of activities to do in the area. The Sonoran Desert Preserve is nearby and has lots of trails with great views. Also, the McDowell Regional Park is nearby and both of these hiking areas are very well managed.
Casita wasnât in very good shape. Pictures didnât represent the condition of the property. There was no key issued so I couldnât leave my personal items in the casita when I went into town. There was no soap provided in the shower. The condition of the pool and hot tub was in bad shape and didnât offer privacy. The driveway resembled a junk yard with multiple out of commission vehicles. Overall it wasnât the worst place Iâve ever stayed in, but it was the worst place Iâve stayed in for the money.
We loved it here. The best thing was the relaxed environment with a terrific view of 4 Peaks and the desert environment from the patio area. I cooked quite a bit and the kitchen accommodations were reasonbly good. There is a good coffee maker but it doesn't take pods. There were only two of us (can accommodate 5) but we utilized both beds which were quite comfortable. The main bed is elevated to the degree that it wasn't easy for my short, older and somewhat physically challenged wife to get into. But we managed fine. The hosts live on the property and were kind, respectful and very helpful. We are personable people and greatly enjoyed interacting with them. On one occasion the host went way beyond expectations to help me with a car rental issue. They have 5 dogs and it was a delight for us to interact with them daily as well. This added greatly to the enjoyment of our visit. The location is terrific for many, excellent hiking facilities which we took advantage of. We were also here for spring training games which aren't convenient, certainly, to this location but, still, it worked out reasonably well. Time slows down dramatically here which was a huge blessing for us. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. We rented this property only because, being late to rent and wanting 2 weeks, this was the only property available. We're so delighted how it turned out in the end.
This property has become known to us as "The Ranch." My folks will celebrate 67 years of marriage this year. They have had the pure and repeated pleasure of staying at Steve and Robin's place several times over the last 5 years during the early to mid-spring season...Nothing compares to the view of the mountains across the desert...watching the sun come up and the moon cycle through in its place. As the property is 2 miles back a dirt road from the main road, the setting is QUIET and lovely. This two-bedroom, one bath unit has everything you need, with a beautiful outdoor sitting area under cover with grill. The swimming pool and surrounds are shared with the owners, their family, (we had the pool to ourselves nearly the entire time except on the weekend), and their three small dogs, who will visit and bring the ball to play...or, will be kept close to home if renters are not dog enthusiasts like we are. The indoor and outdoor spaces were just right to share with local family who came over to share a swim, visit, and share a meal together. Steve provided a stepping stool with a built-in cane for my father to safely get into and out of bed. You will not find kinder, more hospitable hosts. We have already booked two weeks for next spring. Thank-you, Steve and Robin for another wonderful stay!!
This casita was perfect for our spring break stay. The little house and surrounding yard were clean and well cared for. Comfortable beds & hot showers! Hosts were friendly and available when needed.Property is a bit off the beaten path, but that was part of its appeal.10/10 would recommend
This is a casita sharing beautify courtyard with pool area with the hosts in main house. We still had plenty of privacy and they were very friendly. We enjoyed being in the countryside in Arizona horse country with fabulous mountain views and starry sky at night!
Simply stated the casita was wonderful! Away from the crowds of Scottsdale & Phoenix but close enough for easy access if you want to go there. Sunrise and sunsets were amazing. The owners gave us our privacy but were immediately available to answer any questions. We made a stop at the grocery on the way in and cooked most of our meals in the kitchen, which was adequately supplied with pots, pans, dishes, utensils, etc. I have no doubt we will be back at some time in the future.
Terrific. Amply room for 4 adults. Kitchen was wonderful to cook large meals. Access to patio, pool, fire place, BBQ, cornhole made for a terrific venue to host a 12 person birthday party. Beautiful mountain view. Steve had extra patio tables, chairs. Steve and his family were friendly and helpful.
Beautiful little guest house on a small ranch outside Phx/Rio Verde. Nice views of the Superstitious mtns. Great stars at night. Short section of gravel to get there but no big deal.
Owners are welcoming and very accommodating; Pool is great for all ages. We thoroughly enjoyed all 5 of their dogs, and our Great Grandson was thrilled when one of the owners took him to see the horses and their colts. Views are spectacular, and the peace and quiet are wonderful. We look forward to returning next year.
Had a wonderful 3 weeks at the casita! As described in the listing, the home is on rural roads which we appreciated being away from the traffic in other parts of Scottsdale. The home is close to many great hiking areas and has amazing views. Home owners were friendly and easy to work with.
Originally from Seattle area, work took us to Montana. My wife and I got tired of the cold. searched for year looking for just the right place. not really city people, the property here in north Scottsdale fit us the best. Some of the worlds best Horse trainers are just a couple miles away, as we are into Reining Horses, and my wife competes all over the U.S. The drive in can be a little bumpy at times, but once you are here, the dessert beauty and quiet makes you forget. We live next door in the main house with our 3 small dogs. they are very friendly, and only bark to sound tuff. Itâs hard to beat the Arizona, weather, people, and activities right in our back yard.
We chose this property, as we are country folks, who need room. This property had a small barn, and 2.8 acres, and we have fenced and did lots of upgrades. What was the biggest selling point for us, is once relaxing in the back yard, you see no other houses, only a great view of 4 peaks. seems like we are all alone out here.
It did not take long to find out that living out here had huge benefits. we immediately bought RZR's, (UTV's) and Quads, and a bass boat, as we can ride the off road vehicles right from our house, almost 3 million acres can accessed from our back door. Lake Saguaro, and lake pleasant are a short drive for some great striper fishing. Trail riding with your horses are as easy as saddling up and going. Lots of biking, weather its Mountain bikes, or road bikes, Rio Verde is a thorough fair for bikes traveling from Cave creek to Fountain Hills, and we are nestled in the middle.
