Hello Julie, I thank you for your very kind words and I am sorry I was not able to see you for the usual personal good bye before leaving for my trip to US. I was specially happy to receive your comment because it was unsolicited. I hope to meet you both again in the future! All the best Franca

Dear Doug and Marie, I always try to assist and help the travellers who choose my house. I can only say you were the perfect guests. It was a pleasure to welcome and host you at Il Diaccino!

Pamela and James were perfect guests, kind, funny, lovely and very quick in communicating. They were very respectful of the house, leaving it in excellent condition. We hope to see them again at Il Diaccino, guests like these are always welcome!

Hello, this is Anna. I am editing our first response so that it might be more useful for future guests. October is not out of season, we simply as a general rule open the (unheated) swimming pool end of May and close it end of September, though it might be open earlier or close later depending on the weather and other factors; guests who come in October usually do not come to swim as it is autumn already and if it is an important point for them they invariably ask confirmation for pool dates. This year we closed it on the 1st of October and for technical reasons it could not be reopened. It was our mistake not to specify it in our description. We recognized this, apologized and have promptly added this detail. We communicated every day with our guests, sought to offer solutions and make up in other ways for this misunderstanding, as we were of course upset that our guests were not happy, but to no avail. So we reiterated our excuses and offered to reimburse any night the guests would not stay if they chose to go elsewhere, which is what eventually happened. We have set check-in hours but as guests wished to arrive earlier and we always try to be flexible we told them they could arrive earlier but not before a specific time as the whole family was still harvesting that day. The guests arrived well before the agreed time and the owner herself – my mother – rushed to meet them although she was still busy. The house was heated but we also gave firewood for the fireplace and extra blankets as asked. We had explained there is a manual in the house with many tips and info on the area, including restaurants etc, but also told guests they could ask us for any direct recommendation which we are always most happy to give as we know our area very well, but they did not ask. Before leaving the guests stated – unprompted – that they would not leave a negative review as they understood it was a misunderstanding and the place itself was lovely, for which we thanked them.

Merci beaucoup, on est très content de savoir que vous avez passé un bon sejour, et de notre côté c'etait un vrai plaisir de vous accueillir!

We are very sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay. We always strive to make our guests feel as happy as possible and welcome constructive criticism in order to always improve. It is true that the olive trees were partially hiding the view from the garden, and we are now trimming them to restore it. On the top floor the view is really wonderful. We live in the middle of the countryside and the last part of the access (500m) is a rural communal white road of which I had sent you a video prior to your arrival to show how it was, one just needs to drive slowly. The horseflies unfortunately sometimes appear in summer, and we have put up all possible systems to protect guests both at the pool and on the patio. The house is mostly furbished with unique antique pieces; the armchairs were kept because comfortable and covered with fresh linen. The windows are not dirty as I explained at the outset, there has been an issue with the double-glaze, and we are progressively changing them all. The pool has been constructed following local official regulations regarding depth for this type of property, making it safe also for children. This area of Chianti is renowned for its climbing windy roads and is in fact a mecca for cyclists who use classic, modern and electric bikes both on asphalt and unpaved roads. We understand that we all have different needs and tastes, unfortunately this place did not match yours.

So glad you enjoyed your stay :) Thank you for visiting, we'd love to welcome you again!

Dear Laura, I am really glad you enjoyed your stay and appreciate very much you taking the time to give us a review! It was a pleasure to host you :)
