The El Salto Log Home, Taos, New Mexico is nestled in a most private setting in the wooded pines in prestigious El Salto. An upscale custom designed and built solid cedar log home offers vacation and sleeping flexibility by renting it along with the optional guest house and the former caretaker cabin.

The large open great room with gourmet kitchen means the chef is never lonely as guests have the opportunity to offer culinary advice or have ample room to spread out and commune with the rest of the party. The huge two story river rock fireplace is central to the fabulous ambiance of this amazing home. Of course, firewood is provided.

The King master bedroom has awesome sunset views of the Jemez mountains and a large master bathroom with separate tub, stall shower and double sinks. The twin bedroom has its' own private bathroom and the Queen bedroom has its' own bathroom unless guests occupy the Loft . Loft guests also have the option of using the half bath downstairs during the night.

Located at the end of the line there is no through traffic ensuring absolute serenity and quiet in this rare find Taos luxury vacation rental ski cabin or summer log home.

The Taos El Salto Log Home can be rented with or without the optional Guest Cabin and/or additional Privatev Cabin allowing 18 guests.

El Salto Compound is one Taos Premiere Properties largest sleeping vacation rentals. It books early for large groups so call well in advance for your Taos family reunion or large gathering of friends.

4x4 recommended for winter months for Log Home & Guest House - However ,if willing, guests can park at end of drive and walk up 30 degree incline

We rented 2 of the 3 cabins for our family of 9. The cabins are very close together and excellent for larger groups. The main cabin has a beautiful open room. We were the first renters since the winter season, so we experienced a few issues, but the property manager and local contact did help us out. Overall our family had a lovely time together and clocked in some great memories.

Great stay in El Salto

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Six guys, some of us have know each other for 70+ years, enjoyed a 4 day get together at the El Salto Log House. What a fantastic location and accommodation. We each had our own room (we rented the cabin as well), and Only two of us had to share a bath. Wonderful kitchen, living room and a forest view porch and hot tub. The little town of El Salto is very cute and artsy. The Taos Cow offers a great breakfast! Jackie, the local contact for the log hose is very accommodating and helpful to any needs you have. It was truly a wonderful stay.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great stay at the El Salto Log Home and two associated cabins. It's a great place for a family reunion; people can be together yet have their privacy. All the property is clean and well maintained. The caretaker took good care of us and even provided some firewood on short notice. We went hiking, river rafting, and sightseeing nearby (to the Taos pueblo and Santa Fe). Some of the appliances need to be fixed, but otherwise, the log home and the cabins were wonderful!

Our Stay at El Salto Log Home

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a really good time in Arroyo Seco at the El Salto Log Home. The house is very nice and we loved the village of Seco. Jackie, was very helpful and a joy to work with. The only problem/concern we had was that the home was not maintained very well. It was OK to stay there for a few days, but I think few people would want to stay longer or live there due to the dirt and neglect. Things like missing/burned out light blubs, dirty oven, dirty floors and floor vents, heavy dust on dried flower arrangements, ceilings and logs, broken dryer, etc. None of this kept us from having a wonderful time at the home so this is just FYI. We rented the log home and cabin for the 5 adults and 2 babies, and it all worked so well.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Compared to last year we were disappointed,especially considering the price.The main thing was the extremely poor lighting as there were many lights not working. We have enjoyed working with the mgmt. company and the housekeepers and fully intend to utilize properties in the future.However, we will never stay in this perticular property again nor would we recommend it.We would also like to inform you that there were several bees inside the property.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: For our annual Father's day ride, I had the pleasure of securing our housing for Northern New Mexico to do the "505" rides. We had been finding great housing for our annual motorcycle trips of 6-8 people and this topped our "CABIN" stays.Very comfortable with all the horns and whistles provided. We looked forward each PM to coming "home", enjoying both the evenings and early AM's out back, in the hot tub or on the deck. Lovely, fun, accommodating,and comfortable.

The views from the west balcony, overlooking Taos and the surrounding areas, are stunning.
