This beautiful home allows our family to stay together and enjoy the exquisite mountains of Red River. The home is so comfortable and well equipped. We loved cooking in the kitchen and playing games around the large dining room table. This location is close to trails for hiking as well. Thank you Marie, for sharing your home with us!
The cabin was amazing. Beautiful location, 10 minute drive into Red River. The cabin had everything we needed and more. We are talking about booking it again for next year!
Our family of 15 from Texas had a wonderful stay
at your cabin in Red River.
Especially enjoyed our evenings at the cabin cooking
and enjoying time on the front porch. One evening before
dark enjoyed watching over 30 Elk grazing in the field in
front of the house.
We had a great time. The cabin was excellent and everything worked and very clean. We met the neighbors next door that live there in the summer. Very nice people from Waco, Texas. I enjoyed watching my grandchildren play and bond with their cousins out in the yard. We would definitely rent this cabin again.
This was a very nice well-equipped home. There was plenty of room for my wife and I, my daughter and her husband, and my son and his wife and our 3 grandkids. The home was located in a beautiful setting near Red River. The large table allowed us to all eat together.
We love the Red River / Angel Fire area, having visited the area, a number of times. This property needs a little TLC in a couple of areas but we were happy with the overall facilities and location a few miles up the valley from Red River. I could see how this would be perfect for a larger group, with plenty of sleeping, dining and gathering space, although it was just my wife and I this time around.
We traditionally go camping for our summer vacation. This year we decided to enjoy the mountains without so much work. This home allowed our family to come together and do all of the camping activities we enjoy; hiking, making sâmores, coffee on the front porch and playing games. It was super clean and comfortable with all the comforts of home provided. We would love to come again for a longer stay.
We loved the cabin and the location, the pictures did not do it justice, it was so very beautiful. The neighbors were so very nice as well. We had so much fun and really enjoyed out time away. We will be back for sure. Marie you are such a wonderful person, thank you for sharing your home with us. My Family fell in love with your home.
Marie was always quick to respond to whatever questions I might have had prior and after renting her property. The cabin was awesome, the pictures do it no justice. I loved that the whole family got to sit at the dining table. Very spacious for a family of fourteen. My wife loved the sun room.Thank you Marie for letting us stay in your cabin. We would love to rent it again in the future.
I would definitely stay at this cabin again. It has a great location, very spacious, comfortable furniture, huge kitchen very well stocked, and southwestern motif. We had 11 family members ages 8-72. There were multiple TVs, fireplaces, games, and puzzles. If there's a huge snow the road is plowed but you will have to navigate the the driveway which has a bit of a slope. If you have a mobility issue the front door has about a dozen steps but they are covered. The view is spectacular!
We hosted a booth at Red River's Oktoberfest and needed a place for everyone to stay. Something quiet enough for the grandparents, but close enough to town that we could shuttle supplies to and from the event. The cabin was PERFECT. We sat on the porch with coffee admiring the changing colors and listening to nature. It felt like we were hours from the next town even though we were 10 minutes away. The drive was easy and beautiful so we didn't mind that either. The cabin itself was exactly what we needed. Big enough for everyone to have their own retreats but cozy enough to spend time together. And the fireplaces were the icing on the cake. We're hoping to book again soon!
Our stay at The Native Elk Cabin was amazing. The cabin is beautiful and accommodated the three families & friends easily.
Marie was very quick with her responses and communicated answers to my questions in a timely fashion.
Even though the cabin is about 5 miles out of town the drive was easy to get back and forth between the cabin and town.
The only thing I would say is having to climb stairs to get in and out of the cabin. For elderly people this was a challenge- and Iâm sure if the weather wasnât wet/snowpacked, then maybe we could have accessed the other entry on the main level. Other than that this cabin had everything you needed for a comfortable stay!
This house is so wonderful! We had our family vacation here in Red River. 6 Adults and 7 children and we never felt crowded. Marie has been a perfect hostess, every question was answered and everything we needed was available in the house. Native Elk home was easy to get to and very close to the town of Red River. We spent mornings on the porch and evenings gathered around the massive table in the dining room. I have stayed at so many VRBO's and this was by far the best ever. The house was so clean and as I said Marie anticipated every need. ( she even has a slow cooker!).
We spotted a black bear in the woods behind the house to the excitement of the kids ( and the men!). Red River is a great place for families, we hiked, zip lined, and took the lifts up to the ski area and had a picnic.
We will be back! Thanks again for opening your lovely home to us. Ann St.Germain
We had 12 family members including two preteens and two dogs all from Colorado, Texas and Michigan. Everyone had their own private space if needed. The house is spread out and has everything you may need. The large dining table was great as we celebrated four birthdays. It could not have been a better space. And the view from one of the living room couches was to die for!! Perfect location for sitting and admiring the mountain landscape. My husband and brother-in-law sat there every morning having coffee and catching up on life. The drive into Red River was also quick and easy. And there was plenty of straight-in parking for 5 large vehicles. Everything (appliances) worked great in the house and there were no water pressure issues. Our biggest feat was acclimating to the high altitude and climbing the stairs. We are all aware of what it takes to prepare, so just be mindful before you get there.
Instructions for using everything are very well outlined. And I appreciated the easy access code and check-in/check-out procedures! Typed up notes/instructions were posted everywhere were visible to all and very helpful.
This is an excellent location and space to spend time with family and friends!
Thank you again!!
This cabin is perfect for family vacations! Very roomy with lots of seating and a very well stocked kitchen. The view was beautiful; the location was great. Would definitely recommend and would love to go back some day.
Our family enjoyed our stay at the cabin, it was quiet and peaceful. The location was close to other activities available in town. Kitchen and dining area were highlights of the cabin, newer appliances and a large table accommodated our family of 10 easily.
We live in Albuquerque with our three daughters. We have been coming to Red River for several years and fell in love with the charming town! We are excited to share this beautiful home with you and hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
When we saw this house we immediately envisioned spending winters evenings playing board games in front of the stone fireplace, snowshoeing in the forest above the house and sledding down the hill, and sipping wine on the back porch as the kids played in the forest on warm summer evenings.
This home features a large kitchen where several cooks can work together without getting in each other's way, multiple living areas so groups can talk, watch a movie, and play games at the same time, and a beautiful view all around!
