The cabin is in a great scenic area of big bear. Super cozy and exactly what we wanted when looking for a cute getaway in the mountains! Will definitely book again.
This property was everything we expected and more. Conveniently located to ski resorts, stores, and restaurants. Hosts provided great information and answered all questions. The cabin was very clean and comfortable and pet friendly.
The name says it all, COZY CABIN. Very nice cabin to spend family fun, My wife was impressed with how everything was set up. We felt very comfortable there.
Beautiful and peaceful.
Jonathan is a friendly, communicative host. It's a nice, quiet location with a really good, critter-filled deck (if you have nuts to share). Cabin was clean with small double and bunk beds and nice bedding. Too many annoyances to be able to fully relax during our stay, hence the 3 star overall rating. Heating system was SCREAMING and house was 80 degrees when we arrived. We realized a couple days later that all the vents had been closed for the summer and that the air was struggling to get out. Note: check cabin air vents in early fall. Tried to bake a pot pie from fav village shop Pickles Pies, but soon discovered that the oven was not vented to the outside because the smoke alarm would go off with each door opening. (In my frenzy to assure neighbors that we were not burning down the cabin, I let the 18 pie slip out of the oven and crash to the floor). Nights #3 and #4 offered up cold showers, even after a plumber had replaced a part. I don't blame Jonathan for this, of course, just bad cabin luck. Heater in bathroom was broken and we really could have used that after the cold showers. The couch is more like a large love seat. It's too short to lie down next to someone and not very deep because of bolster cushions. The chair is an Ikea " bent wood" that u just plop into and then have fun getting out of. One deck chair has a broken seat. I had high hopes for this cabin, and with some attention it could be very comfortable and charming.
The cabin was definitely small but accommodated my family of four perfectly. Appliances worked great but the TV is a little small. The Cabin has some fun games to play with the family which is fun for all ages. The location to Big Bear Mountain is awesome! If youâre staying multiple days and are planning on hitting the mountain then keep your vehicle at cabin and enjoy a short walk and avoid paying a parking fee.
When I stay at a short term rental, I expect the same basics that I would get at a hotel/motel with the added benefit of a full kitchen. This place is EXCELLENT in terms of convenience if you come for winter sports. The beds are very comfortable and so is the couch. There is a small breakfast nook for 6. A clean house. The kitchen is good for a family. However, a few things were missing IMO, like cooking oil, trash bags, and basic toiletries (but that was made clear to me prior to our stay). But the reason this place didn't get 5 stars was because of the shower. The shower water pressure, the shower head, and temperature control were poor. After a long day of outdoor sports, I want a good shower. FYI, you have to take your trash out to the city dump site; there is heat, but no A/C.
We had a great time. Cabin was located a little away from the city, so it was very quiet, private and relaxing. Cabin was well furnished and we had everything we needed.
The whole stay was very amazing. It is a very quaint cabin in the woods that gave us a very pleasant and quite vacation. We will be rebooking in the near future.
Such a cozy stay! Jonathan was an amazing host super communicative and helpful. The cabin was adorable, quiet, and in a perfect walking distance to Big Bear Mountain. If youâre looking for the full cabin experience, I definitely recommend this spot. Iâd absolutely stay here again!
This was my first time using VRBO so I was a little nervous, but the whole process/stay went extremely smooth. The Cozy Cabin was exactly as described. Cabin had everything we needed from kitchen items to extra blankets and the best pillows. The one question I did have I texted the owner and he got back to me right away and let me know to text him if I had any additional questions. Looking forward to coming back!
Loved it, conveniently located (minutes to town and walking distance to bear mountain) we walked to ski lessons. Kids had a blast riding their sled in the driveway! Heat works well, water takes a few minutes to heat but lasts a long time. Washer/dryer combo to dry wet clothes after playing in the snow! Great little cabin! Hope to plan another trip before too long!
Generally good. Close to the zoo and restaurants (as well as snow activities). Cozy. One negative was that it seemed like maybe the cleaning service missed under the bunk beds as we found quite a bit of leftover trash and wrappers.
This place was just what we needed for a Christmas trip. Perfect size for our family of 4, cozy and close to the mountain. We love staying in Moonridge. Owners were very responsive and accommodating. We would love to stay here again.
My wife and our family are Canadians living in San Diego and we bought this little place to have somewhere to go with the family to get away from the city and experience a bit of winter fun like skiing and sledding. We love heading up to Big Bear whenever we have a free weekend, its a great place to visit year round and has a lot of beautiful scenery and things to do.
Quiet cozy place up the mountain, great location for a quiet stay in the woods away from it all. Also walkable to Bear Mountain ski resort for skiing/snowboarding or mountain biking. Great place to relax year round.
The place is an easy walk to Bear Mountain for anyone wanting to ski, you can go back and forth or go home for lunch and it is convenient with small children. There is also a lot of mountain biking in the area during the summer months. The deck has a great view of the trees and is a relaxing place to kick back and relax.
