We Love Bass Lake!!!

We really enjoyed our time up in Bass Lake. It is hard to not have fun. The house we rented was a bit of a challenge with the stairs and layout, but overall it was good. Thank you.

Great location and Excellent Communication

We recently stayed at this lodge for a multi-family trip. Upon arrival there was an unforeseen maintenance issue and the owner, Gabriel, was incredibly responsive and helpful to resolve the issue. The lodge is comfy and spacious and we spent a lot of time hanging out on the couches and patio bonding. It’s a short drive the beaches on the lake for swimming and lots of hiking trails. Thanks for all your help Gabriel!

Large, clean house with private boat slip

This was our second time staying at this property. The house is large and fairly well-equipped to easily accommodate our large group. There definitely are quite a lot of stairs throughout the house, but it doesn't bother me. The recently renovated decks are very nice with nice patio furniture and a new smoker grill. The boat slip at the private marina is convenient and a short walk away. Our family had a great time!

Great House!

The house was perfect for our family vacation. There were 10 of us yet there was plenty of space for everyone. The driveway was not as steep as some say and if you enter the house through the garage there are less stairs to climb. The house was clean and well stocked. Having a slip for our boat was a big plus! Brian was very responsive and quickly answered our questions. We will definitely rent this house again.

Yosemite 1/2 marathon/mini family reunion

We were within a block of our other family member's house rental so we could gather for meals (at their place) and spend an afternoon at the lake together. It was perfect for accessing the 1/2 marathon. There was plenty of room to accommodate the 8 of us. The driveway is very steep. I wasn't prepared for the mosquitos. ouch.

Great Property

It was a very spacious house and was able to accommodate my family well. I did not like the stove because it took so long to heat everything up but that wasn’t really a deal breaker and there were too many cobwebs around the house. There also wasnt enough trash bags or toilet paper available for the number of people and the length of stay. The movie theater was a big plus. The property location was great because we were able to visit Yosemite. Overall though I would recommend this place. It was a quiet and clean neighborhood and we all enjoyed our stay.

Overall we had a good stay This home has a lot of wonderful features. Layout is excellent and accommodates big group. The 2 porches with rocking chairs provide beautiful outdoor spaces. There were, however, a few challenges during our stay that future guests may want to be aware of. There are quite a few stairs leading to the home, which made carrying luggage and supplies difficult. On our first night, we discovered that the propane tank was empty. To the owners’ credit, they responded immediately and had the propane tank filled that same evening. We truly appreciated how quickly they addressed the problem. We were surprised by the limited supplies that were provided. Home sleeps up to 10 people, but only two trash bags and two dishwasher pods were supplied for our 4day stay. The checkout instructions required guests to dispose of their own trash and provided locations where it could be taken. Unfortunately, one location was closed and the second location did not accept trash. Although the porches are beautiful, they were covered with spiderwebs and spiders, which made them difficult to enjoy. Inside, the house appeared to be generally picked up, but some areas, including the baseboards, showed noticeable dust, dirt, and cobwebs. We also experienced ongoing issues with the air conditioning always going offline and having to rest. Despite these concerns, this property has a lot of potential. With a little more attention to maintenance and cleaning, could be exceptional rental.

Thank you for your honest feedback. You had a whirlwind of a stay for sure. First the propane, then the AC!!! Thank goodness they have been taken care of. The AC had a condenser pump that was "good" but I had it replaced since your stay even though the AC company didn't want to. And the spiders had been an issue all summer. We have since sprayed weekly so there wouldn't have that many webs. As for the cleaning, we typically have this tip top, but as with any host, you are only as good as your vendors. We have since moved on from the cleaners who obviously didn't do as they were instructed. Glad you had a good time while you were there and thanks for being understanding with the issues.

A lot of stairs and very steep driveway.

Nice location, just very challenging to walk up steep driveway and a lot of stairs. Rooms were good and host always answered any questions we had. I was worried about bbq seeing how it is not a closed cover bbq. Dried vegetation behind it on a hill for fire risk. Would recommend a high wall behind it. Liked the movie room and a nice multi-level deck. Had a great stay otherwise for the price and location. Recommend 4WD to drive up the driveway.

Thank you for the feedback. We appreciate your stay and hope the home exceeded expectations. The home was built at the top of a hill, so it does come with some fun oddities (like the stairs) that we accept with the tradeoff of the views from the new deck. Thank you for the suggestion for the BBQ. It does have a protective cover you put up when BBQ'ing. We will be sure to highlight that for other guests. Hope to host you again!

Family New Year's gathering

We stayed in the home with our son and daughter and some other family members. We found the property to be "as advertised" in every way. The upside is location and spaciousness of the property. We always try to stay in this area of Bass Lake for the lake access but relative quiet. The downside was the lack of clean linens on the beds. The home was supplied with extra linens, so we were able to fix it, but it was a disappointment, nonetheless. The owner was easy to reach and very apologetic about the situation. Overall, our stay was great and we had a super New Year's family gathering. We would stay here again.

Our Second Stay

Another great stay! Like last year, we traveled with another family (a total of 4 adults and 5 young kids) and this cabin is the perfect size for us. It’s clean and has enough room for everyone to have their own space and privacy, the kids especially love the theater room downstairs. Love the tree house feel among the pines and the quiet location at the end of a cul de sac with the forest at the rear. This year we saw many wild turkeys wounding around the property which was very cool! We love the location and easy access to the lake as well as Yosemite. Also love the new rear deck where the grill is now located, great addition! Another note, the stairs aren’t bad so don’t be thrown off by the photos. When you park next to and enter through the garage, there is essentially only one stairwell that leads up to the main living area.

The house needs more dinnerware. To have only 6 dinner plates and 2 salad plates is ridiculous!

We had to wash dishes by hand after each meal in order to have clean dishes for the next meal. The instructions for the internet were not correct and there were contradictions in the house information.

Sue, Thanks for allowing us to be your host. We will for sure do an addition to our Dinnerware Count...Thanks for bringing this to our attention, overtime, Plates go missing or get broken, so this is something we will address ASAP. I am not sure what your referring to on the Internet or House Information. VRBO has everything listed for our WIFI Codes and Check In/Check Out Instructions. Plus we have laminated Instructions in the home so you can reference them as well (Making it so you don't have to log into the site) Again we appreciate the opportunity to be your host and hope you had a great stay in Bass Lake!!!

Excellent home for Bass Lake fun

Property was well equipped. Be sure that all your quest have good knees as the stairs are a challenge. Lots of stair climbing to get to the main floor, which posted a bit of a challenge for my husband who has bad knees. The trash removal is a bit of a challenge as you have to take it to a dump site and when we got there it was closed so we had to take it home! When one of the bags broke, it caused a big mess in my truck. There was some confusion on my part of where to park the trailer, but it was solved by Brian. All in all, had a great first trip to Bass Lake for my birthday!

We love this lake and this is a great house!

Very big and comfortable house. We visited with my family and another family with children. The house was very comfortable and big enough so kid noise didn’t affect everyone. I did have a run it with the neighbor down the street because I parked my trailer, on a public road, in front of his house. I guess everything can’t be perfect.

Great Getaway

This property has a great location. Just a short walk to the lake. The beds were comfortable and the a/c kept the house cool. The kitchen had everything we needed... plenty of plates, bowls, glasses, but it would be nice to have more flatware. Thanks for allowing us to stay in your VRBO. We had a great time during our stay at Bass Lake.

Beautiful Bass Lake Cabin in the Trees

We’ve started making Bass Lake and annual trip and this was by far one of our favorite cabins we’ve stayed at. The location is great, it’s located at the end of a cul-de-sac and backs to the forest. In the pictures the front stairs seem a bit daunting but parking is very easy and is located next to the garage. There’s one stairwell from the garage that leads up to the main house so there aren’t as many stairs as it seems. Other than some cobwebs, a couple spiders, and a friendly lizard, the home was very clean, spacious, and had super comfortable beds. Sitting out on the deck makes you feel like you’re living in a treehouse and you get some peekaboo views of the lake and sunsets. We traveled with another family that also has small children and this cabin is great for all ages. Our kids especially love the game and theater rooms. Easy access to the lake and a very quiet location. We’ll definitely be looking forward to staying here again next summer!

Interesting Stay

These are my negative critiques: **Shortage of silverware, forks in particular **Games are all missing pieces--throw them away as it was disappointing to the children. **Let guests know if something isn't working before they check in. **Too many stairs--our fault for not realizing 3 flights of stairs. **Let guests know that property has a problem with rodents in the pantry. Positive critiques: **Very clean and spacious. Comfortable living room furniture. **Lots of dishes and cooking utensils **TV with cable **Mattresses are comfortable. **Washing machine and dryer access **Boat slip access **Two refrigerators Management communication was adequate and they satisfactorily resolved the issues with our stay. I would recommend this property.

Expensive Inconvenient house to rent

We stayed at this house in July. The house was clean, the location was not convenient for us due to all the steps that we had to go through to make it to the main house. We had a very hard time driving up the hill and hauling coolers and luggage up the hill and up the steps was very difficult. The bedroom in the lower plant of the house, should not be called a bedroom. It is more of a playroom. It has no bathroom. Going out of the room and up the steps to go to the main house to use the bathroom made it extremely inconvenient. This house is not recommended for older people. The mattresses are very old and uncomfortable. The only one that is in decent conditions is the one in the master bedroom. My family choose to sleep on an inflatable and not on the beds due to the condition of the mattress. There is not BBQ grill, and no patio furniture. There were 4 plastic chairs on the main deck, that was it. nothing on the second deck. What a disappointment. To top it off we found mice in the master bathroom. I do not recommend this house, and I would not stay here again. IT is a very expensive house for what we got.

We received a call from this guest after her check out noting a few of the issues above. 1) We have a monthly service that comes out to bait and trap any mice in and around the property. They checked the traps and none were found after there stay. We do everything in our power to prevent mice, but it is a lodge in woods/lake area and they can be expected in any home. 2) The home has a BBQ on the front deck, so not sure why you claim there is not one. 3) Each bed in the home is less than 2 years old. This includes a King in the Master, Upstairs Bedrooms both have Full Sized Beds and the Studio has a Double, Twin Bunk and a Queen. We personally inspected each bed after the stay and found no defects in any of the mattresses. Nor have we had any other complaints from other guests about them. The Deck off the living Room has Deck Chairs for sitting in the sun and relaxing, the guest made the suggestion for a Dining Room or place to eat which we are looking into. The home sits on a hill, which allows for great views, but does require stair access to get into the home. The easiest way is to come in through the garage (Shortest number of stairs to bring items into the home) We appreciate your feedback

Great place to stay

Great place to stay to make amazing memories on the lake with family and friends. Location was great and it was a plus to have access to a private dock. Only thing we would recommend is have more diningware (serving bowl, bigger pots, etc.). Would definitely recommend this cabin if staying in Bass Lake.
