Beautiful, quiet location. Roomier than photos appeared. It is a climb up, as was clear in description. Nicely furnished. Very good internet connection, although Roku TV tended to drop off. Lots of birds and deer! Would stay here again.
couldnât be happier with the treehouse and the property as a whole. we were delighted to see a doe and her fawn right outside our car the first time we left to go into town. southwest harbor was a great experience, we went to salt shop for dessert every day! very happy with our choice to stay on the âquiet sideâ of the island and only trek into bar harbor to get to the park for the classic hikes like the beehive. the mountains on the west side offered beautiful views and made for peaceful hikes. the treehouse was an excellent homebase for a serene get away.
Cute place. Very quiet. Can be easy to bonk your head on the slanted ceilings and the water tasted metallic but itâs easy to buy bottled water and watch your head. Great lobster roll right down the street. Convenient beach. Nice town. Close to Acadia
I personally loved the quiet side location. Nothing wrong with this rental, but nothing spectacular about it either. I think "honeymoon retreat" is an odd name for this place versus something on the quiet side of acadia. I stayed here by myself, but can't imagine it being romantic, like one would think with the name honeymoon retreat. This rental says no kids, but the rental next door allows kids so you can still very much hear kids. Might as well allow them. I was thinking "no kids" would mean I wouldn't hear them either. I love the detailed information about the area that is provided to you as a renter. I would stay again for the mere location of this property.
The space is perfect for two people, but the kitchen and bathroom may be too small for some people. I loved the unique setting and the fact that it was not in a touristy area but that you can get to Acadia National Park in less than 30 minutes. A nice change of pace from the craziness that is Bar Harbor. We did lose hot water on our third night, but a quick text to Anne and it was fixed by the time we needed it in the morning.A lovely place to stay if you want a quiet, enjoyable stay in the heart of MDI.
My wife and I booked this in the Seawall area of Mount Desert Island for our stay while hiking and sightseeing around Acadia. This home and its location were exactly what we needed to enjoy the National Park and an escape from the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor. After exploring all day, it was great to return to this quiet side of the island where we were greeted by the island deer! A climb up the spiral staircase would help us wind down. The new deck was a place to rest or stargaze amidst the surrounding tree tops. Inside was very cozy, perfect for us. This home felt very much like our own while we were there! Looking forward to our next trip here.
Daunted at first by the metal spiral staircase to get to our Treehouse nest, the outdoor stairwell became like a portal- a welcome home rite of passage after a day exploring the wonders of the island; a departing spiral handshake saying Iâll be here to welcome you when you return. The Treehouse had everything we needed and more.
Guess my only real complaint is that We had booked this cabin for three days. We were supply two towels only. The shower was so small, hardy can move in it. The area around the cabin in town/baths or and the Acadia park will worth the trip. If we were to go again we would probably choose to stay else where. We didnât feel we got what we paid for at 800 for three night.
The property is well priced and located on the quiet side of Acadia Park in Southwest Harbor. Good access to the Park, very clean, and very comfortable!
This spot is a perfect location on the quiet side of the island! We had easy access to everything and it was easy to find. It is great for couples that are exploring outside and need a relaxing space to sleep at night. We did experience some issues with the electricity after the storm that came through because the west side of the island is all connected to a main line. However, both the hosts and the emergency contact were responsive with letting us know about the wait and updates. Something to think about and plan for if you know you are traveling during storm season!
This was a great property and met all of our needs. Loved the quiet location and the beach. The house was well stocked and comfortable. The owners left a TON of information about the area which was very helpful. It is a bit of a drive to Acadia if that is where you are going but we didn't find that a big deal. There is plenty of hiking closer to the property as well. The owners were quick with communication. The check-in and out process was super easy. Do be mindful of the stairs. We walked to Charlotte's Legendary Lobster shack for dinner one night which was fun. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this as a great place to stay.
Overall stay was fine. NOt a treehouse, room over the garage. Deck was unsafe. my husband is a contractor, took pictures incase something happened and would not let us spend any time out on the deck. rotting floor boards and had recently placed haphazard boards placed to support whole structure. Recommend that deck be replaced before rented again. Shower so small could not ;pick up soap off floor wthout body going out of shower. LIked they had a lobster pot as we got lobsters right off the boat and cooked them up!! Loved the area, very quiet. Wished we could have shared the laundry in house next door. Overall property manager very supportive, gave great recommendations of things to do and places to eat. Loved Maine!!
