What a lovely house on the lake! It really is quiet, yet still relatively close to wineries and restaurants. And the owners couldn't be nicer or more helpful! Thanks again
Our stay here truly felt like a home. So peaceful. I spent a significant amount of time on the screened in porch listening to the birds and the water. Very close to multiple places for day trips. Exceeded my expectations in every way. Will definitely come back again.
What a relaxing few days! The Cottage is comfy with an amazing view. The hosts couldnât have been nicer. Great for a short getaway or to spend a week or more enjoying the Finger Lake region.
This is my third summer staying at the cottage and, as always, I enjoyed every moment I was there.
Rosemary and Jim are gracious host always ready to help out and/or make sure you have everything you need.
I hope to be back again and again.
Off the beaten path. Enjoyed our stay at the Green Cottage. Lake view from livingroom windows. Loved the screened in porch for relaxing while listening to the waves of the lake. Very quaint accomodations. Not modern and no air conditioning, but kept cool by the lake breeze and the surrounding trees. Close to all of the wineries on East side of Senaca Lake. Would return visit!
My husband just retired so we chose our favorite vacation spot to celebrate the next chapter in his life. We had a wonderful time. We were so glad to see Rosemary and Jim and have the opportunity to spend time with them. The cottage is so quiet and peaceful. The book selection is so good that every trip here my husband explores a new book. We love all the Amish and Mennonite markets. We visited some wineries new to us. It was a wonderful time!
My husband and I spent a very pleasant 2 weeks at this 2 bedroom cottage near Lake Seneca. We were pleased that we could bring along our dog who enjoyed the wooded setting and running along the shore. The house contained pretty much anything we could need, and we made several meals in the well stocked kitchen. The house was well maintained with new windows and a gas fireplace. We loved all of the interesting artwork throughout the house and the large selection of books that was almost like being in an eclectic used bookstore! Thank you to Rosemary and Jim for their hospitality during our first visit to the Finger Lakes.
The cottage was very quant. It very quiet which was wonderful. It was stocked with necessities with the exception of towels and sheets. This was an inconvenience. The beds were uncomfortable and hard. Just a side note the book selections were quite strange and creepy. Certainly glad I didnât bring my sports car it would have never made the driveway.
This is a charming traditional cottage but with many modern comforts: wifi, smart tv, gas fireplace, fluffy towels and comfy chairs. It is on a hillside with lake views and a short staircase (unlike many properties in the Finger Lakes) to the waterfront. People with mobility issues could walk or drive down the driveway to the water. There is a road at the waterfront, but used only by cottagers, so pretty quiet. Beautifully decorated with original artwork. The owners, who live on the same property, have spared no expense in making the cottage comfortable and ensuring their visitors have an enjoyable time. Spotlessly clean, including the frig interior (not always the case!). Owners are a lovely couple, very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Best location for wineries in the Finger Lakes (S-E Seneca Lake), restaurants, farmer's markets, Watkins Glen and historic sites.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay is this cozy cottage on Seneca Lake. The cottage is the perfect size for our family. There is so much to do in the area - hiking, boating and wine tasting of course. Rosemary is the perfect VRBO host.
Beautiful Cottage with a personalized feelall its own.
This cottage and it's owners were exceptionally warm and welcoming. The view and the September breeze were just what the doctor ordered. My wife fell in love with all the custom art and deco. I wish we could have stayed longer. This is definitely in our list for next year.
This was the third time we rented this lovely cottage overlooking Seneca Lake. Itâs always immaculate, is very comfortable and is full of interesting art and books. Thereâs even a piano. Itâs only a 10 minute walk from Lodi Point state park with a great playground and a nice beach for swimming.
This cottage evokes childhood memories of time spent at "the lake". It's clean and well equipped, from books and DVDs to kitchen utensils and coffee!
Although it was one of the hottest and most humid weeks of the summer, I used the living room fan only intermittently and only slept with the bedroom ceiling fan on one night. The cottage cooled right down as soon as the sun went down.
I like really enjoyed the peace and quiet of the property. It was a very private setting with lots of room to park cars and let kids or dogs play. There was very little traffic on the road, especially after dark, and even on the lake especially during the week. The beach was also private.
I may very well return next summer. I loved it.
The cottage has a fabulous view of the lake and is wonderfully quiet and secluded! The owners are very friendly and helpful. Great location for a FLX vacation!!
A perfect cute eclectic cottage on Lake Seneca with exceptional owners living next door. You could spend your entire vacation right there and go home very relaxed.
This was our second stay. We love the cottage, especially the porch and the piano and appreciated the gas fireplace in the chilly early morning of 50 plus degrees. I got a September swim in and our 5-year-old grandson loved the lakeshore and the antique cars on a high shelf in the bedroom. My only warning to dog owners: donât let your pooch eat the acorns! Our 70-pound 16 month old puppy ate several before I stopped her. She suffered no apparent ill effects but a smaller dog might. Acorns are toxic to dogs, I now know!
Rosemary and Jim have lovingly cared for this family cottage and demonstrate great pride of ownership. The cottage is clean, very well provisioned and in a great location. Everything about it is comfortable and cozy. Our hosts were friendly and available when we needed them and provided privacy when we wanted that. Wonderful spot.
It was a great week. Took my family of 4 and we were comfortable. The cottage was really clean and well stocked with the basics. The sunset views over the Lake Seneca were awesome. The owners couldn't have been nicer.
The cottage was truly full of character and homey. Our property managers, Rosemary and Jim couldn't have been more hospitable. There generosity was overwhelming.
Being that the cottage is on the east side of Seneca Lake you will have incredible sunsets!!
I definitely would recommend this rental
If you are looking for a place to stay with that classic cottage feel this place is definitely it. Rosemary, the host, was very kind and informative and the place was just terrific. Perched high off the water it receives a great breeze off the lake with a wonderful view. The screened in porch was the perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or a cocktail in the evening.
Jim and I spend our summers here at our cottage on Seneca Lake, and we rent the out the family cottage next door until the kids are ready to take it over. Jim grew up here in Lodi, and we've lived in various places in the US and Canada, including 20 years spent in St. John's, Newfoundland, before ending up in Lodi for the summers and in Ottawa in the winter. Best of both worlds!
Jim's parents built this place after WWII, and it's been in the family ever since. It's a beautiful spot overlooking the lake. We were lucky enough to buy the cottage next door 30 years ago, ensuring that everything up here on the bank from one gully to the next belongs to us.
We've tried to maintain the cottage's 50s character while bringing the amenities up to date. Itâs full of books, artwork and amusing tchotkes. Itâs also very well furnished. The large living room looks out through the trees over the lake, and windows on both sides allow in the lake breezes during the day and the cool air coming down from the woods during the night. There is a big screened-in porch that lets you feel like you're still outside even when it's raining.
