Holiday house 'Badia Vecchia' is located in the countryside surrounding the enchanting medieval village of Monteverdi Marittimo, built in Tuscan style with characteristic exposed beams and a private swimming pool. For the summer of 2024, air conditioning has been installed
in all rooms and a photovoltaic system. It is ideal for those who want a relaxing holiday in the heart of Tuscany. The house is only 1600 m from the village, inside a private park of about 1,000 sqm with olive and cypress trees, completely fenced and with a splendid panoramic view of the green hills of the Val di Cornia, in a quiet but not isolated position. The beaches of Marina di Donoratico are only 22 km away.

The accommodation The house consists of two double bedrooms, one with an additional single bed, and one bedroom with two single beds, all finely furnished, three bathrooms with shower, a living room with sofa and television, a kitchen equipped with electric hob, oven, fridge with freezer, dishwasher, microwave oven, kettle, toaster and moka. Wi-Fi Internet. The interior is also furnished with antiques. Laundry room with washing machine. For the summer of 2024 we have installed air conditioning in all rooms
and it is included in the price. A 'house manual' with useful information on how to use the accommodation is available. Guests can consult guides, brochures and maps to help them organise their holiday. Casa "Badia Vecchia" is sanitised and disinfected according to current legislation at every change of guests.

Outside there are two large panoramic verandas equipped with garden furniture, a private swimming pool (5x3 - open from June to September) equipped with deckchairs and beach umbrellas. The garden with olive and cypress trees is 1,000 square metres, completely fenced in with car parking.

Monteverdi Marittimo is a characteristic small Tuscan village with medieval origins. In the village you can find grocery shops with typical products, a pharmacy, a hardware shop with newspapers and various articles, a bank with an ATM machine, a bar and two restaurants with traditional Tuscan menus. There is also a medical assistance service. During the summer months, several village festivals are organised where you can enjoy the typical flavours of the cuisine and the friendly Tuscan welcome. 22 km away you will find the sea with the sandy beaches of Marina di Castagneto Carducci. Other very beautiful beaches can be found in the Gulf of Baratti-Populonia, the long beach of Rimigliano and Sterpaia, all within the natural archaeological area of the "Parco della Val di Cornia". Nearby, you can visit Castagneto Carducci, a small village made up of narrow alleys, beautiful squares and fine craft shops.
The precious little village of Bolgheri can be reached by following the famous Viale dei Cipressi of the well-known poet Giosuè Carducci. San Vincenzo with its new marina is an excellent starting point for visiting the most characteristic islands of the Tuscan archipelago.
In the hinterland, Suvereto is an evocative medieval walled village, still a stone's throw from the Etruscan town of Populonia. Campiglia Marittima is an ancient medieval castle, which can still be entered today through the three historic gates inserted in the walls.
Larderello, the capital of Geothermal Energy, in the "Devil's Valley" between boraciferous fumaroles and geysers, is a fascinating territory that inspired Dante Alighieri in the Inferno of the Divine Comedy. In a day's drive it is possible to reach important cultural cities such as Volterra, S.Gimignano, Massa Marittima, Siena, Pisa and Florence.
