Apartment with Excellent Sea and Mountain Views

Spacious and well furnished 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom South facing apartment on top (2nd) floor (no lift) of attractive building in small complex with shared pool, and tennis court, close to Alvor beaches. Large verandas with beautiful and relaxing views to the sea and mountains. The ceilings are high which make it cool in summer and the beamed ceiling & feature fire place with wood-burning stove in the living room make it cosy in winter. Attractive entrance patio with hand painted tiles. Close to Alvor village amenities (600m) and major town Portimão (4km). Located between two golf courses at Alto (3km) and Penina (7km). Alvor beach is 800m in front of the apartment which is very safe for children. Alvor (600m) is an attractive fishing village with many restaurants, banks, chemists, daily market, newspapers and souvenir shops and is a short evening stroll for a pleasant night time atmosphere! The apartment is fully licensed with the local Council under the Alojamento Local scheme which ensures compliance with safety standards.
The spacious South facing balcony has table and chairs for outdoor eating. The apartment is located on the top floor (2nd) of a building with no elevator. Please abstain from smoking inside the apartment. No parties allowed nor groups of under 20's - Sorry!

Appartement spacieux avec une très belle vue, fonctionnel , bonne exposition et bien situé. Malheureusement il aurait besoin d' une bonne rénovation : douches, prises électriques... Le frigo vieillot , le congélateur obsolète, pas assez de couverts sauf miniatures... Environnement chiens qui aboient souvent. C'est bien dommage car avec la piscine, il serait au top.

Ottimo appartamento

Appartamento grande, pulito, luminoso, inserito in un piccolo complesso tranquillo e silenzioso con bella piscina. Accessoriato di tutto e comodo per la nostra famiglia di 7 persone, abbiamo apprezzato tantissimo il terrazzino della sala vista mare. Ottime comunicazioni con la proprietaria, check-in comodissimo! Noi ci siamo sempre mossi a piedi...spiaggia, supermercato, centro di Alvor. Le poche volte che abbiamo usato la macchina abbiamo trovato parcheggio ovunque anche se agosto. L'appartamento andrebbe un po' rimodernato ma questo non cambia la nostra opinione più che positiva! Appartamento quindi super consigliato!!

Home from home

This apartment has everything you could need for an enjoyable holiday . A little dated but goats a minor thing overall. Lovely quiet pool. Approx 15 mins downhill to alvor centre. Taxi back approx €3.50 so very easy to go out in the evening with the kids. 20 mins walk to Tres Irmoas beach. Owner lovely to deal with and gave very clear instructions for our arrival.

Excellent holiday apartment, great location

We had a wonderful stay in Helena's apartment. She provided excellent, prompt communication before the trip and this made for an easy, relaxing holiday. We found the apartment clean, spacious and with every convenience to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. (I have to mention the drying area for the wet costumes and towels at the end of the day was especially convenient). Our kids (9 and 6 years ) were thrilled with the pool, made friends with the other children and we were very happy with how accessible the property was to the shops, restaurants and the beach. We had endless sunshine and enjoyed day trips out on a Catamaran and to Splash and Slide. As a family we always like to try new places to visit, but I can see the appeal of why families would return and would definitely recommend the property and Alvor to others.

Only 1 fan in August!

It was unbearably hot when we stayed and we had to open the balcony doors all night to get some air in! We didn't sleep securely. It's very basic and overpriced for what you get.

Dear MD Thank you for your comments and I am sorry the apartment was not up to your expectations. We have lived in the apartment for many years and the through drafts from opening the many windows and doors on the several balconies was always enough to make the house comfortable. Security has never been an issue on this second floor apartment and there are louvered shatters if this is a concern. Please note that July 2015 was the hottest month on record but even so I am putting some more fans in the apartment as a result of your comments. I cannot agree with your comments about the price of the apartment, which is certainly not basic as shown by the many repeated visits we have from satisfied clients. Best regards, Helena

Great Apartment

Just returned from a great 10 days in Alvor. The apartment is clean spacious and in an ideal location being within walking distance of the beach and bars and restaurants. The bus stop is just outside so we didn't bother with car hire and we were able to get around. The pool was just a very short distance away and very quiet. All in all we would recommend the apartment without hesitation.

Quinta dos Arcos

We are a family of 6 and we stayed in the appartment for 11 nights this summer and had a fabulous time. Alvor is a charming town, and we would easily walk to the resaturants, bars, shops and beach. A small Spar is very close too. The appartment had plenty of room for the 6 of us, and the pool was lovely to relax around. The only small suggestion is that although the appartment is incredibly well equiped, some of the items need replacing due to being broken ie. a balcony chair, chair in bedroom, beach umbrella and toaster. But the owner asks for feedback on stuff like this, and in no way did this affect our enjoyment of the holiday. We can thoroughly recommend the appartment, and we would love to return in the future. A very good family or group sized appartment.

Directions by the owner to this appartment were accurate and concise. Our questions beforehand were answered quickly and favourably. The property was clean although a little old-fashioned in it's furnishings but very comfortable with good-sized rooms. A bathroom for each bedroom gave privacy and speed when getting ready to go out. Only one little request - there was no mirror in the back bedroom but plenty of room in the large wardrobes in each bedroom. Two excellent balconies overlooking the sea and the private swimming pool allowed us to eat, sunbathe and enjoy the fantasic views. The appartment was only a ten minute walk to the beautiful Portuguese town of Alvor with it's harbour, shops, restaurants and bars. There was plenty of car-parking space and also free use of the private tennis courts. We would definitely recommend this property to our friends - providing they were able to climb two flights of stairs!

Quintos los Arcos September 2010

Previously we have always stayed nearer the centre of Alvor so we were a bit apprehensive about how far away the apartment was. However it was only a 10 minute walk into the town centre and about 20 minutes to the beach. We enjoyed the walk particularly as we spent the rest of the time lazing about! There was a supermarket close by, (Alvorferias) so handy for the breakfast stuff, without the walk. (Much cheaper than those nearer the town centre) The apartment itself was very spacious, if a bit dated, with everything you would need provided. Cleaning was done once during our week stay which was fine. Our apartment looked directly over the pool and had fabulous sea views too. There were three showers, just don't try using them at the same time, as someone ends up with all the hot water and the other with all the cold! Alvor is a lovely place, this being our third time returning. Lots of choice of places to eat, drink & be merry. We will be back again. If you are looking for a relaxing holiday and to enjoy a nice meal and a drink at night, then Alvor is for you. If you are looking for wild nightlife and clubs then this is not for you. Suitable for everyone except those looking for wild nightlife.
