With the beach just steps away and the quiet charm of the North End surrounding you, lasting family memories aren't just possible—they’re inevitable. Surf, sand, and that "stay forever" feeling are yours for the taking at The Scallop.



Ground Level:

Enclosed single car garage and tandem parking for up to four total vehicles. Garage includes beach wagon and gear, ping pong table, a full size extra refrigerator and freezer, and two adult bicycles for exploring Pleasure Island.

Living Room: Sofa (Queen Size Sleeper), love seat and chair

Dining area: Table for six plus extra leaf, bar seating for two at kitchen island

Kitchen: Granite Counters, Tile Backsplash, Upgraded Fixtures, Electric Range, Full Size Refrigerator, Dishwasher, Stainless Sink, Laundry Closet w/ Washer/Dryer. Powder Room.

Upstairs Primary Bedroom Suite: King Bed, Double Nightstands, Dresser and Mirror, Wall Mount Smart TV & DVD Player, Ceiling Fan, ample closet

Primary Hall Bath: Tile Shower, Single Vanity with Granite Counter, Mirror, Toilet

Parking:

One car may park in the garage under the building. A second vehicle may park in front of the garage and up to two additional vehicles can park in tandem to the right of the driveway. For additional parking options, please visit the Town of Carolina Beach website. Note that Town parking at the Scallop Beach entrance area is designated for paid golf carts only.



Linens - Sheets and Towels will be wrapped in sealed packages on the end of the beds. 



Rental Policies:

In response to the increased incidence of credit card fraud, a valid government photo ID will be required for every reservation. A signed rental agreement is required: accepting House Rules on any online travel agency requires reading and acceptance of our rental agreement.



Things to bring:

Paper towels and toilet paper, trash bags, soaps, detergents, minimal cleaning supplies, and beach towels.



Arrival/Departure:

Summer Check-ins (June-August) begin at 4 pm and are guaranteed by 6 pm.

Check-out is by 10 am. 

We adhere to this policy, so please do not arrive early or plan to delay your departure.



Guest Access:

Electronic Lock Entry.



House Rules:

No events such as weddings, bachelor/bachelorette parties, sororities/fraternities 

No smoking

You must be at least 25 to rent this unit.



Pet Policy:

No pets allowed. Owner has dogs.



Cancellation Policy:

If you cancel when your arrival date is more than 60 days away, you will receive a full refund.  If you cancel when your arrival date is less than 60 days away, you will forfeit your deposit.

The Neighborhood:

Adventure awaits on Pleasure Island. Exploring the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher, home to incredible coastal wildlife, or take the scenic car ferry across the Cape Fear River for a relaxing visit to the charming town of Southport where quaint streets are filled with unique antique shops and galleries. History lovers can walk the scenic, live‑oak‑lined trails of the Fort Fisher State Historic Site, where Civil War bunkers still stand. Nature enthusiasts will love the island’s two state‑managed coastal preserves: Carolina Beach State Park, home to rare Venus flytraps found naturally only in this region, and the Fort Fisher State Recreation Area, known for pristine beaches, marshes, and wildlife viewing. Both offer beautiful opportunities for hiking, paddling, fishing, and spotting pelicans or even nesting loggerhead sea turtles.



After a day outdoors, unwind on your private balcony with a sunset cocktail, or head into town to explore the best of Carolina Beach. The Carolina Beach Boardwalk, ranked one of the Top 10 Boardwalks in the U.S. by Food & Wine, features classic seaside fun—local restaurants, an arcade, ice cream shops, bars, and the famous Britt’s Donuts. In summer, enjoy weekly fireworks and live entertainment, carnival rides, family nights, and Flamingo BINGO. Getting Around:

Getting around Pleasure Island is a breeze! While parking can be limited in peak season, especially in popular spots, paid private or public parking is available. We recommend exploring Carolina Beach and Kure Beach on foot or by bike – they're super walkable and bike-friendly. You'll find safe pedestrian and bike routes, including the Island Greenway. Renting a golf cart or bike is easy, too, with several local rental companies. Golf carts are one of the easiest ways to cruise around the island. Rentals are simple to arrange, and once you're behind the wheel, you can zip along any road posted 35 mph or under.
